This is a unique situation for a blockbuster game: Destiny 2 has just 14 Trophies at launch. Bungie’s eagerly awaited first-person shooter is outfitted with a Platinum pot, but you’ll only need to unlock 13 other gongs to secure it. Trinkets essentially include upgrading all three of the title’s classes fully, and sampling each mode in the game – such as the new Flashpoint feature or the Leviathan raid.
Collecting the Trophies doesn’t look too hard – apart from having to complete the Leviathan raid or the Nightfall strike on Prestige difficulty – but they will be time consuming. The number of gongs is unusual, though, considering the original game had a more conventional 42 Trophies at release. We can’t help but ponder whether the developer’s leaving lots of space for post-launch DLC gongs.

Half Trophies for half a game eh lads?
No story trophies suggests to me they are hidden but who knows! I'm looking forward to the game regardless
Yeah sounds like there will be hidden trophies and loads more in dlc
I really want this game to be good... I need a game I can stick stick with for a while and just cruise in, and D2 would be a perfect fit.... if it doesn't suck.
I nearly had a panic attack. Ive checked that list and ya its definitely missing story trophies. I feel pretty certain that list will be expanded upon.
On the other hand, thats a lot of gold trophies, so maybe not? Never seen a game like this.
@ShogunRok with Activision this might actually be true
@ShogunRok There's no way they'd pull that shizz twice.... right?
@ShogunRok my thoughts exactly when i read the article
@ShogunRok whether you think it's half a game or not, I've enjoyed the way bungie made destiny as a base game that releases more awesome content than any game could even compare to for the next 2-3 years so I can keep playing a game I love with all my friends👽
Who cares?
@Mikethemosher @THEH4MM Hidden Trophies would show up here if there were any. They could patch some more in on launch day I guess, but it seems unlikely.
@get2sammyb That is slightly disappointing then
@blah01 If you weren't interested, why take the time to click on the article and comment? 🤔
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi
I suppose, but aren't trophies a bit pointless, it's like an extra measurement of progress which isn't really needed....just never bothered with them...each to his own....
@get2sammyb
Bored Sammy and with a non story like this, the devil in me feels obliged to comment
@1eyedlink I'm just poking fun, I'm a big fan of Destiny. I just hope Bungie doesn't repeat the mistakes of the past here. I don't want another scenario where the base game is great gameplay-wise but content-wise it's exhausted after a couple of weeks.
Yeah, same as D1. You pay for the game, then only get the game you should have got after paying 2 or 3 more times. It's the beginning of the end imo.
@blah01 Haha!
Im happy to see a shorter list, im gonna be honest trophies need an overhaul 42 trophies is too many you pop them and dont know why. At least with 12 you have a dozen proper in game things to strive for, rather than a load of bronze nonesense like getting to the first checkpoint, upgrading your first weapon etc etc.
^^^
I will take a small trophy list full of gold over a big list full of bronze.
Bizarre move with this trophy list. I enjoy going through and knocking them out. Got the plat on d1.
Story trophies were not included
For trophy hunters, buy the Season Pass for additional trophies.lol
On the plus side, this might be a very easy triple A game to plat.
i platinumed the original destiny which took about 10 months. i think the last one i needed was triple play.. which was a real pain in the hole as i really disliked the crucible and by then it was extremely difficult to find a team which actually had the right guardian composition to make it possible. flawless raider was breeze by comparison.. i hated the way TKK gated gear and quests for exotics behind multiplayer tasks, it was basically trying to force people into it, as does "complete shaxx's call to arms". apparently i played 72 days worth of destiny 1.. not again.
The first two Destiny DLC's didn't have ANY trophies. Perhaps Bungie don't like trophies.
has anyone thought they havent released a full list of trophies on purpose? I dont care im getting the game on release day cant play it till the thursday due to work but I really cant wait for it, the game looks great I wasnt too impressed with the beta for lack of content but I was really impressed with the step up in graphics and the first mission was really well polished lets hope the rest of the game is like this
Trophies have never been my thing. I'm mildly surprised whenever a trophy alert pops up for something I've just done or target I've reached. In my book they're just so much 'incidents and accidents'
I took the time to click on this article because I wanted to see yet another article moaning about trophies in one form or another. Its such a surpise that trophies still get so much traction in articles. Really has no relevance to a game or its enjoyment. Whether you have one trophy or hundred. They are only there to give the false impression of added value to a game.
