Middle-earth: Shadow of War has a new trailer, this time going over the beloved Nemesis System that the first game introduced. The gist of it is that orcs never forget, so the ones that you mutilate may become revenge-seeking rivals, while the ones that you spare may end up becoming your most trusted general.
This video reminded us that somewhere beneath the deserved microtransaction controversy and the spurts of awful marketing, there's a promising game here - a sequel to a title that went above and beyond what was expected of it. A real shame, isn't it?

I'm kind of on the fence here. I really liked the first one and spent the time to plat it, but there is just sooo many games right now that I'm leaning towards waiting for the GoY version with all the dlc. My back log is bad and I have few must buys in the next few months that this hasn't swayed me yet to make it a priority.
well i played the original on PS3 and PS4 and in my opinion the game was better without the Nemesis system
i really didn't like the nemesis system for me it made the game not fun, i'm not sure what it was about it, maybe it was the fact if i beat someone they would be hunting for me or they would return wanting revenge and it felt like i never really accomplished anything and i'll be honest on paper it sounds like a great thing but i just could get on with it and as such i found the PS3 version much more fun to play
so i won't be getting this game
Loved the nemesis system on SOM (I hated it at first but then got into the groove when I realised how it worked) but I am not getting this game. As the article says, there could be a pretty good game here but this loot box gambling malarkey has put me right off.
That was a pretty good trailer. Gotta love those cockernee orcs.
Honestly, the more I see / hear about this the less interested I get, the whole loot box thing has just turned me right off it
Hmm, I thought they renamed this microtransactions of war. Would that be too honest?
