Destiny 2 is just a handful of days away from launch, but we're already hearing whispers regarding the sequel's first planned expansion. According to Kotaku's sources, Bungie's looking to bring something quite meaty to the table with the game's initial add-on.
Dubbed 'The Curse of Osiris', the expansion will, as its rumoured name suggests, feature Osiris, who was mentioned here and there in the original Destiny, but we never actually got to see the supposed space wizard. Other leaked details include mention of a new social space as well as a new patrol environment on Mercury.
It'll be interesting to see how Bungie handles downloadable content this time around, but are you prepared to pay up for more intergalactic adventures? Tell us what you want from Destiny 2 in the comments section below.

Destiny 2. Play all of it in 2 years for £180.
One of the characters in the lore that always seemed really interesting. The expansion icon kinda have it away lol. Looking forward to it though!
Rather wait for the eventual complete edition in a couple of years.
@BLP_Software It's one of the reasons I'm thinking about buying Destiny 1 right now for 20 euros and waiting for this game to be completed in a year...game of the year edition or some crap!
@AFCC I dont blame you. Theres bits of DLC and then there is an extra £40 a year if not more for a few hours more...
Sweet. Would love each DLC to feature a new patrol environment.
Looking froward to the 6th! I won't be waiting for "all" of the content before purchase. I put more hours in to Destiny than any other game I've ever played. For me, it was way more than worth it for the money. Plus destiny was the game that got me to start playing online, and I met a bunch of really great guys that I am now in a clan with.
Yeah - it cost more out of the gate, but I have no regrets. It's very cool anticipating a game's launch with about 20 other people all waiting for it to drop.
I try to like Destiny but stuff like this just does my head in. It's an awesome game destroyed by the evil publishing giant actiNoVision
@AFCC didn't you just say that you didn't like the game, and said it wasn't good, after playing the Destiny 1 beta? Pretty sure that was yesterday lol! I'm all for picking a game up on the cheap, but people getting into Destiny 1 now will likely not experience all of what's there since most devoted players will move on to D2. It may be hard finding raid teams and such.
Already pre-ordered the Limited Edition inc Season Pass so I should be getting all the Expansion Packs anyway...
@NorrinRadd that's one of the main reasons I'm getting it at launch. I've always wanted to follow an online AAA Rpg from the start and experience how it changes over time! Joined the Push Square clan for new people to play with too.
Destiny 2 is starting to sound like I thought Destiny 1 would be. Even though I put hundreds over hours into Destiny I'm still not sure if I'll pick this up or not, could easily just wait a year and pick up Destiny 2.5 with all the dlc for the same price as the normal game.
i played a huge amount of destiny in the first year, and bought both expansion packs in year 1 (even though they were way overpriced for the amount of content in them imo).. but i really disliked all the faffing about they did with the in-game progression systems and economies (there was something like 23 'currencies' at one point), and although most thought TKK made a massive improvement, i didn't like it at all, and it ended my enrollment with destiny about a month after its release.
i tried the PC beta of D2 yesterday, and despite the twitchier feel of 60+ fps, there was a still a strong sense of same old same old for me. the changes to the new weapon categories made a lot of the firefights feel quite samey, and not the same depth of variety as the original. the campaign might be more expansive and rewarding which is great for players (and seems like it might even have a story this time), but a single raid and a handful of strikes leads to me think it's going to fall into the same repetitive loops as the first game (and hence a lot of the enjoyment will be the social aspect rather than the actual game itself).
@NorrinRadd
Agreed. I was there Day One for the first Destiny and that will not change for Destiny 2. The Digital Deluxe Edition is currently downloading right now, so I'll be ready to go for launch.
I also met a group of guys that invited me to their clan and with them I completed my first Raid. Just 6 more days!
I waited to play D1 once the first expansion dropped and was pretty impressed as Bungie had sorted out the cave loot thingy and a number of teething issues by that point. Im doing something similar with d2 no point buying straight away with the inevitable multipack and discounts in 4,5 or 6 months time with the inevitable stupid ironing out bits fixed.
Can't wait, bring it on. Worth every penny. 1000+ hrs right here.
@shafedog247 nah, go read again!
6 days lads
@AFCC some features of D1 are already turned off .. and you might not find anyone for raids etc.
You play destiny from the start or after the first updates .. or you loose something.
@BLP_Software I have nearly 1000h in D1 .. the price means nothing if you compare it to other games which are only good enough for 100h or much less
@AFCC "I hated D1 so I didn't play it after the BETA I knew it would flop (not in money but it wasn't a good game)..." that's exactly what you said, maybe you need to go read it again lol
Just switched on my machine to see Destiny 2 has installed. 🤗
@shafedog247 D1 Beta. Don't know if you read all my comments about destiny but people say it changed with future patches and expansions! So I don't like the game after the Beta doesn't mean I can't give the game a chance.
