It’s a brief WAYP this week as holidays take precedence at Push Square Towers. That means the emphasis is on you lovely lot to fill our comments section with as much content as you possibly can. So, what are you playing this weekend?
Sammy Barker, Editor
I'm just hopping between several games at the moment as I wait for Everybody's Golf to arrive, but I'm mostly playing FIFA 17, which has become my go-to time waster over the past few weeks.
Stephen Tailby, Reviewer
My focus this weekend will mainly be on Undertale which, so far, has been an utter delight. I'll also dip back into Sonic Mania to finish my run through as Tails, and try to beat those blasted blue sphere stages.
Victor Nowogurski, Moderator
This weekend I will be returning to some old favourites, mainly Borderlands 2 on the PS4 and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the Wii U. If I have time I might start up a game of Cities: Skylines as well.
Told you it was a short but sweet one. Of course, what we really want to know is: what are you playing this weekend? You know the drill by now – let us know in the comments section below.

Gravity Rush 2!
a bit of Sonic Mania a bit of FFXII and a bit of DBXV2 are my plans
Persona 5! Very close to the end I think
@7yL3rB How long has it taken you?
Still working on Persona 5 and Dragon Quest VIII! I'm around 88 hours into Persona and I'm pretty sure I still have another 10 - 15 hours to go at minimum.
@KratosMD Good to hear. Danganronpa is a wonderful series, and, like I've said before, DR2 is one of the best games on the Vita.
Blasting through DS:2 Scholar of the first Sin. Next boss on my list is the one in Shaded Forest, although I think I've reached this area in a roundabout way, having accidentally gone through tougher areas first 😜
PS4: Assassin's Creed 2/Brotherhood
PSVita: God Eater 2
Finished AC2 earlier. It's a terrible port, but I really enjoyed it. I really love Ezio. Going straight into AC Brotherhood as I wait on The Lost Legacy.
I'll also be playing Ezio's Family theme on loop all weekend. TuneLAD.
A little bit of Injustice 2 on my endless quest for Cat Call, so basically 150K events for skills and my dailies for free boxes. Other than that it will be all Agents of Mayhem just unlocked Rama and Johnny Gat and ready to attack some Legion. This game is so much fun and I'm glad even with the bad promo up to the game that I didn't bail out and stuck with it. Most fun I've had with a new title in a while and I'm finally off for the weekend for the first time in 5 weeks.
@vegeta11 They really should just give people that item at this point. It's ridiculous that it's tied to a Trophy.
Sonic Mania and wrapping up Dragon Quest VIII
Sonic Mania, baby!
A good mix of FFXII, Wolfenstein and Horizon new game+ on ultra hard mode (which is just frustrating more than it is difficult).
Undertale, Sonic and Yooka Laylee
Playing through Agents of Mayhem. I've been loving the game but seem to be stuck in an endless loop of LEGION lairs at the moment. Hopefully it'll get back to the more interesting and funny missions soon. Though having said that, switching up the characters has been a huge source of fun even through this bout of repetitive content.
On top of that I've also been jumping back into Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, and since I got XCOM 2 DLC in the new PSN sale I'll probably make the most of the excuse to start over.
Injustice 2, King of Fighters 14, Tekken 7, and Crash N Sane trilogy on PS4. Sonic Mania, ARMS, and Mario Kart 8 on Switch.
Someone from the staff playing a Nintendo game? Colour me surprised
As usual, Splatoon 2 with some Crash N. Sane and maybe I will try to finish Gravity Rush.
Sonic mania on ps4
And ghost recon wildland demo on ps4, the game is good.
PS4: The Show 17, Battle Born
Vita: Xcom
3ds: Animal Crossing, Chicken Wiggle
I tempted to get the new Sonic game, looks pretty good.
Dark Souls 2 which I'm still enjoying, as well as picking up Undertale because I will throw money at that game til the end of time. It's that good.
@get2sammyb I'm up to 87 hours so far.
Ark. I love this game
Switch: Zelda and MK8 deluxe
Ps4: Uncharted 4
@get2sammyb it took me 117 hours, but then I did do some unnecessary grinding and rinsed the most out of my first playthrough I think
As for me this weekend, I will mostly be playing infamous second son, finishing off my paragon run; Sonic Mania as I'm still only on chemical plant zone ; and probably a little more of the walking dead series 3.
Get psvr on Tuesday, so next week I am expecting to be trying a number of very different things. And of course uncharted is on pre-order.
Stephen, are you doing a review of undertale?
@get2sammyb I'd be happy if they just added some shop where even if it was 500K or a million credits I could just buy the thing, but alas my battle with RNGesus continues.
Finally completed Uncharted 4 yesterday. Yay! Now I have my third play through of Nier to complete. I restarted my Elite game, so I can jump to new systems now, but I'm having issues with some of my jobs...so I may restart again. Then I have Gravity Rush, Nioh and Horizon waiting.
@Rob_230
PSVR suggestions:
Farpoint bundled with the Aim.
I Expect You To Die.
Rez Infinite.
Thumper.
Until Dawn: Rush of Blood.
Superhot VR.
Statik.
Polybius.
Batman: Arkham VR.
Battlezone.
There are some freebies to try too...Dangronpa, Call of Duty, Battlefront (if you own the game)...and some cool videos. The Chainsmokers music video is cool, an I recommend Allumette. All free.
Ill try to purchase the humble bundle soon,
Play ultratron, virtues last reward, senran kagura shinovi versus all on vita
Horizon Zero Dawn with some FIFA 17 mix in.
Also restart a new save in No Man's Sky to experience all the updates & improvements to date.
@lacerz thank you so much for the tips. Based on your recommendation I have just downloaded chainsmokers, allumette and invasion, plus the lens app etc.
In terms of games I am getting farpoint (sadly no aim controller - seriously where can I get one? Its ridiculous), resident evil, until dawn and vr worlds. I already have infinite warfare, battlefront, tomb raider and tekken and volume to try; and I have bought psychonauhts, batman vr, job simulator, rez, thumper, bound and tumble. Have downloaded danganronpa (really excited), spiderman homecoming and the playroom vr aswell. Thank you summer of playstation sale!
Very interested in the other titles you have mentioned. Particularly superhot. Interested in obduction when it comes out later this month, and there are a number of other titles on the store that im very interested in.
As you can see. Im very excited Really hope Sony do support this platform going forward. That said, as far as im concerned the vita is still a thriving platform with plenty of games I am interested in still on the way!
No gaming for me this weekend, just not feeling it at the moment. It's time to catch up on some films. Have a good weekend guys 😀
King of fighters xiv and im loving it! Ive always been into street fighter and not so into 3d fighters but these days the only other 2d fighters are arc systems stuff and mvc both which are just too fast and overbearing for an old guy like me lol. Anyway, KOF xiv has a slower play style like street fighter which im very comfortable with. For anyone else who picked it up on the recent sale and cant find any online matches just go to rank and go to standby search and set it to wait in training room (NOT ROOM SEARCH) ive been getting somewhat consistant matches this way.
Persona 5 again for me,no spoilers for the chaps that haven't played it but it turns out I'm not at the end after all...which is great news..Still loving it after 109 hours
Will also be playing Splatoon 2 if my internet connection allows it..and Breath Of The Wild on the switch.
@Rob_230 Hope you have fun with your PSVR! An amazing piece of kit that even after over six months of owning one I am still blown away every time I use it.Shame I can't play for longer than an hour at a time though.
Probably PUBG and Splatoon 2, and maybe MK8D.
Gotta continue getting through Tales of Berseria, but have been playing the heck out of Agents of MAYHEM since picking it up. Had to get through the rougher early hours, but after unlocking some agents and getting past Hammersmith, the game really started hitting a groove. I very much missed Volition's take on open world action, and while Agents has its flaws (and I feel like Deep Silver rushed it out the door for whatever reason), it got real entertaining pretty fast so I'm happy.
But I just can't be too distracted with it. I got RPGs on the backlog to knock out!
Mostly gotta stay focused on work though; hitting crunch time on a project and my team has a cutoff date of later this month. So while I'm sort of done with most tasks, its also really important to leap at any problems the moment they show up. I will be gaming uneasily this weekend, just in case I gotta drop what I'm doing and tackle a new problem that pops up
Happy gaming, everyone!
@Wazeddie22 thank you 😊 I am so excited. If you dont mind me asking, is it time constraints or is it motion sickness that restricts you to an hour. I have to admit, I have concerns about sickness; although I think that my play times will be restricted to shirt burts anyway due to having a new born, so I think it should all work out OK fingers crossed
@sinalefa I have many systems not just Sony. I have Nintendo of course, Sega, MS, even SNK.
Just continuing to play some more Smash Bros Wii U, Poochy and Yoshi's Wooly World, Hatsune Miku Project Mirai DX and Pokemon Sun.
The Bard's Tale.
I missed out on this gem back in the day. I'm enjoying it so far.
Sonic mania
Graceful explosion machine
TxK
Completed Doom today so Sonic Mania and Alienation for my sunday session depending on when i wake up.
Hollow Knight on Mac eating up ALL my bloody time and will be for foreseeable future... nightmarishly massive and bloody hard!!!
About to prepare for an all-night session of Final Fantasy XIV. I don't do that very often so as sad as it sounds, I'm actually really excited.
Nier: Automata came in the mail today, so I'll be popping that in sometime tonight. I played the demo back in December/January multiple times but never picked it up at launch due to Horizon Zero Dawn coming out the week before.
@Rob_230 Congrats on the baby As for time spent on VR It's mainly due to eye strain and I seem to get the odd headache if I'm on it for too long so I "try" and do short sessions..the only game that I can remember that has given me motion sickness so far is Scavengers Odyssey on VR Worlds so I'm quite lucky in that regard.Everybody's different and hopefully you won't have any problems at all!
Rise of the Tomb Raider and maybe some CoD: IW and injustice 2.
@Wazeddie22 thank you 😊 its super hard work, but so rewarding!
Now thats an interesting point. I had thought about potential for eye strain; but most comments I have read only referred to motion sickness. It is definitely something I will keep in mind while playing thank you for the really useful feedback. I hope as developers become more familiar with working in vr they can optimise their titles to reduce the strain placed on your eyes!
@7yL3rB I remember reading reviews saying it was around 100hrs, so when I got close to that I thought I was almost done...but really I had like 20+ more hours! Not sure what I did to get that much more time out of it but oh well...time well spent! 😂 One of my favorite games of all time now!
Overwatch trying to overcome the worst lootbox odds in the world in hopes of getting 2 of the skins.
I'm going to finish Hellblade and Matterfall before Uncharted's out.
Dragon Quest XI.
Still slashing away at Nioh, very good game. Also picked up saints row 4 and gat outta hell/ metro redux on sale. Never thought I would like saints row, but it's actually a very fun game. Ridiculous, but fun.
Rise of the tomb raider and Wolfenstein old blood.
I'm playing The Last Guardian for the first time and it feels so special, exactly like Ico many years ago... The creature is simply wonderful and I'm seriously thinking my dog needs a Trico costume! I'll start creating those little wings...
@THRILLHOU Where in DS are you? I'm up to Doors of Pharos boss
The Division hooked me back in again and Animal Crossing on 3DS
@Hego up to the castle at the moment. Doing the DLC for now as I missed it the first time round. It's pretty good!
Sonic Mania and Splatoon 2
@Splat ive thought about getting this. A gem you say!?
Just 100 percent-ed (I know that's not a word!) Yoshi's Wooly World so I am now jumping into Super Mario WiiU.
I have to say, I am loving the Wii U, between Wii, WiiU and Nintendo Arcade the library is immense and offers a nice change when I need a break from the PS4.
I am still struggling to get through Persona 5 but have hit a bit of a wall after 85 hours or so. I have also gone back to Galak-Z, a massively under appreciated title in my opinion. Not looking too get into anything to juicy as my Uncharted has been dispatched by Shopto....cannot wait!!!
@Gmork___ - Yesterday I would have recommended it but today not so much. I ran into a game breaking glitch I can't get passed.
I need a NPC to do something for me to go to the next area and he just won't do it. He just stands there and it's so frustrating. I have reloaded my save countless times.
I'm really hoping it gets patched.
Finally finished Until Dawn. I haven't had such a fun and scary experience in a long time. The ending got a bit over the top, but it felt appropriate with the narrative build. I don't often, but I am going for the platinum on this one. It is so replayable because of the many outcomes from your choices. I'm very excited about Supermassive's Hidden Agenda now.
