The Yakuza series has been in desperate need of a revamp for years. Anyone who reads this site on a regular basis will know that we're massive fans of SEGA's series, but let's face it: we've basically been playing the same game since Yakuza 3 launched on the PlayStation 3 back in 2010. Fortunately, the fantastic crime-drama storylines that the series thrives upon have been more than enough to keep us thoroughly hooked.
When it comes to Yakuza 6 - which is due out in the West in March of next year - we've got more than just another mob-soaked narrative to look forward to. The sequel, which supposedly tops off the tale of recurring protagonist Kazuma Kiryu, has been built from the ground up for the PlayStation 4, and it finally, finally features a brand new engine.
PlayStation Access has pumped out 15 minutes of gameplay footage, and boy does it look good. Yakuza has finally gone next-gen, and we can't wait to get our hands on it.

This looks like a huge step forward.
@get2sammyb What struck me is how seamless everything is compared to what we're used to. No black screens to separate animations/activities - that sort of thing. Great stuff.
Now if they would only remaster 2-5 for PS4. I want to play the whole series but having them spread across different systems.....
Now this is what I want Yakuza 0 is like top 3 games of this year and this seems like a great improvement!
Kiwami will be bought from the bargain bin but this looks like a day one buy
If it says Yakuza and features Kazuma I'm buying it.
Finally Shenmue 3 got some gameplay 😊
My major question is. Do they speak English in the game or we gotta read subtitles?
@Brasilkilla subs. They don't dub these games
btw you can play a yakuza 6 demo right now
Dam that sucks, i got excited because the title of article says "English gameplay" so i thought they did something like that. I can't stand reading subtitles, to a point that i won't play a game because of that.
