It’s a new weekend, which means it’s time for an all-new edition of WAYP. For those of you who are new to the site, this is the weekly article where we quiz you on what you’re playing. Are you diving into your backlog, perhaps? Or returning to an old favourite? First up, here’s some of our team members:

I’ve committed to playing through Undertale. I find the community surrounding that game unbearably obnoxious, but I’m going to try my hardest not to let that colour my impressions of the game. I don’t really know much about it, so I’m hopefully in for a pleasant surprise.

With Destiny 2 just around the corner – and threatening to take over my gaming life – I need to actually finish up some of my backlog. Top of the hit list this weekend are Hellblade and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, both of which have managed to really captivate me with their outstanding sound design and visuals.

With the international football break yielding boredom and disappointment, I'll be turning to across the pond as I play Madden NFL 18, attempting to remember all of the rules again. Other than that, a playthrough of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag is also on the cards.

After hearing all about Everybody's Golf this week, I finally gave in to its whimsy, so I'll be hitting the greens over the weekend. I may also engage in some one-on-one sparring in Absolver, a game that really has its hooks in me despite its unpredictable online performance.

This weekend I will be storming the beaches and trenches of Europe as the second round of the Call of Duty: WWII beta will be going on. Besides that I will be playing some Dragon Quest Heroes II, which is terrific game.
A short and sweet week from us, which means that the stage is yours now. What are you playing this weekend? You know the drill.

Still playing the Dissidia NT Beta before it ends and i will also be playing the Gundam Vs Beta as well
other than that continuing my FFXII playthrough
Lots of Everybody's Golf against my wife. Such a great laugh in Slot mode. Does anyone know who is entitled to the Free courses , I did pre-order from a well known online retailer. Should I have received a code or something ? Or was it just for digital pre-orders .
Pillars of Eternity and Everybody's Golf!
Disgaea 5, dood!
Expect this to be the default answer for the rest of the year, dood!
Knack 2 demo
Fore! I'm playing nice shots in Everybody's Golf. Good old fashioned fun.
@kyleforrester87 How's Pillars, chief? As good as Divinity?
PS4 - Amazing Yakuza Zero.
PS Vita - Great Soul Sacrifice Delta
@ApostateMage it hasn't drawn me in as quickly as Divinity but I had a good late night alcohol enhanced session yesterday that helped me get my head round some of the systems and I feel like I'm making some headway now.
So too early to say, but it's looking hopeful!
Hitting up some Dark Souls 3! Trying to platinum it and get a character ready for The Ringed City, which I still haven't got, in time for Destiny 2 to drop...
Life Is Strange:Before The Storm
Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter
Persona 5
Rocket League and SFV for me. That damn bbc3 league thingy got me interested again.
Half way through Hellblade so hoping to finish this truly unique game. Also continue with Undertale on vita.
Really want to play more Pillars of Eternity but moving house tomorrow so I'll probably only be able to fit a round or 2 of Everybody's Golf. Need to lower them stress levels and an awesomely fun golf game is the answer. Obviously.
@kyleforrester87 Sweet. I'll make sure to grab a big bottle of Glenfiddich and a crate of Estrella when I pick it up to fully appreciate it.
@Gatatog my thoughts are with you. moving house sucks. Happy gaming.
I'm getting back into Final Fantasy XII after taking a bit of a break from it to play Ocarina of Time and BioShock. It's truly a gargantuan game and I've still got a tonne of side-stuff left, but I am nearing the end of the story.
I started Crash Bandicoot 2 the other day so will continue with that too. I'm finding it more difficult than the first one, which is surprising.
Lastly, I continue with my snails-pace playthrough of Pokémon Moon. I've had it since launch but I'm now determined to finish it before Danganronpa V3 is out!
@Fight_Teza_Fight Amazing game, i never ever find the mood to play it though. That moods normally when insomnia strikes so I stick Disgaea 2 on instead on the vita which isnt as good.
@FullbringIchigo Gundam vs beta? Count me in. Woop woop.
Tonight im giving P5 one last go. Last chance saloon and if it as much as causes one frown its atoms are being blasted in the microwave.
It's all in the hips!
PS4 - Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (second playthrough), Yakuza Kiwami
Switch - Splatoon 2
Played the Ys VIII demo finally. Very promising, will get the full game.
Besides that, some 2DS games. No time for big games this weekend.
@themcnoisy Yeah you really have to be in the right mood for it. Playing it was actually one of my goals in your New Years resolution thread .
I spent over 500 hours on both Disgaea 3 & 4, so I imagine D5 will keep me busy for a while.
I can never get into Disgaea on handhelds though. I stop-started D2 & Disgaea DS multiple times.
Edit: Keep at it with Persona 5!
*sends positive vibes
@Jaredfrogman
Just easin' the tension, baby. Just easin' the tension.
Hopefully I'll finish up Uncharted Lost Legacy this weekend.
Then I'll be continuing to birdie my way to the top on Everybody's Golf.
Maybe get Overwatch updated to try out the new Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch modes and try to get some Splatoon 2 in to contribute to my Team Flight in the Splatfest.
Splatoon 2 and Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle!
@MinerWilly
I'm doing the same thing, playing golf with my wife in front of the TV. Have the same question about the DLC courses.
If anyone knows, let us know.
Thanks
Everybody's Golf and Sonic Mania for me.
Gone for Labor Day weekend At my in-laws so nothing but Injustice 2 mobile and Pokemon Go on the phone this weekend.
@MinerWilly You should get a preorder code, and if you bought from best buy they screwed up and sent out full codes for the digital version of the game, so if you got it from there, you might have extra copies! Mine were in the spam folder for some reason in my email.
Speaking of....i'll be playing Everybody's Golf, and some fortnite while the limited time events are running. Not looking forward to the 4 hour survival round, but has to be done.
I dug out the PS2 with a view to raising some cash, but the kids have found it and now won't let me sell it. So it looks like a weekend of Jak and Daxter, We Love Katamari and Super Monkey Ball for me. Might give Hitman Blood Money a miss though; teaching them how to kill with a variety of household objects probably isn't in my best interests.
I just got Absolver, so I'll give that a go. I also will be playing some Madden. Maybe play some NCAA football on PS3.
@mookysam I started Crash 2 yesterday and found exactly the same thing. I think it's because Crash 1 got so tricky that I got overconfident going into the second game. I had a lot of stupid deaths.
I can say with great pride that I FINALLY finished Persona 5!My playtime was just over 116 hours.Absolutely fantastic game and really can't praise it enough.Had an absolute blast
Today was my last day of work for a week so hopefully I'll get a good amount of game time in.
On the switch I'll be playing some Splatoon 2,Zelda BOTW and the fantastic Mario And Rabbids Kingdom Battle.
On the Ps4,now that Persona 5 is put aside I can finally put time into the Witcher 3
Last night I played the Knack 2 demo both solo and with my bro in co op. Bland and repetitive is an understatement. I also started Lost Legacy and although I only played the first hour it was very fun and polished.
I will play in the Snailfest on Splatoon 2 although I would rather play ranked matches.
Some early level grinding in ESO and Mario+Rabbids which is shockingly fun.
So many games I want to play. On PS4- Street Fighter V, Injustice 2, Tekken 7, Uncharted Lost Legacy, Crash Bandicoot Trilogy, King of Fighters 14, and the new Yakuza game that just came out. For the Switch- Mario Kart 8, Arms, Sonic Mania, and Puyo Puyo Tetris.
There's no way I'm getting to all those games.
@Gremio108 Super Monkey Ball
Man I am jealous right now, super monley ball on the gc is one of my favourite games ever. Have fun.
Hoping to finish crash 2 from the insane trilogy and maybe going back to Yakuza 0 to finish the story, I think I only have a couple of chapters left.
I've resumed playing Final Fantasy VII this week, I'm now on disc 2. I'm still surprised at how much I'm enjoying it even though I already know how the story unfolds, but I guess I really underestimated this game's quality.
On PS4, I'll mostly tackle Bastion and Kingdom Hearts, with maybe some Tekken, a game I've had on the back burner for too long.
Finally, I'll keep playing Fire Emblem Echoes on my 3DS, with some games of Smash Bros. thrown in.
Hopefully going to try out the Cod WW2 beta this weekend if I get any time and if it works Other than that Fifa 17 as usual and need to Finnish the DLC on Fallout 4 and get back in to Skyrim!
@themcnoisy I will. I've been pleasantly surprised at how well all three of them have aged actually
@DerMeister First time playing FF7? Kinda fancy a go through myself, coming upto 2 years since the last time..
@kyleforrester87 Yeah, it's my first go. I got it from PSN back in April-May, shelved it after I got a PS4 and started Persona 5, but now I've resumed it.
I'm really liking it. Despite it's age and knowledge of it's plot, I find it fun to play and experience. I kinda wish it didn't take me so long to play it now.
lost legacy, doom
@DerMeister that's cool, I firmly believe it still holds up well but it's good to know someone can still enjoy it without the nostalgia factor. The main issue I have with it these days is the translation, not necessarily spelling mistakes etc (although they are present), the characters just arnt written very well some times. It's really apparent if you play Final Fantasy 9, which has a brilliant translation.
Spending the long weekend at the trailer, so Mario + Rabbids. Switch portability FTW.
Niohs got me, just like bloodborne did. I can't stop playing these friggin "souls like" games. I think I own everyone available for PS4. Please let me know if I have missed one.
Bloodborne, DS 2 &3, Nioh, surge, Lord's of the fallen, salt and sanctuary...
I will be finishing up the platinum on infamous second son if I can; and just discovered the joys of couch co-op overcooked; so hope to get more games of that on the go this weekend. Will also try and do some more batman vr
Nothing tonight as I'm a huge college (American) football fan and will watch the Alabama/Florida State game. Tomorrow I'll continue Uncharted: Lost Legacy. 😊
Also, I love scrolling down thru everyone's replies every week. It's fun seeing people maybe finally getting around to playing big games like HZD or Persona 5...or maybe they're playing something that's really old but on sale. Sometimes it's something I have no interest in but that person loves it. It's just interesting seeing all of our different tastes of games come together.
I've been playing a lot of Switch games lately. I'm playing Blaster Master Zero because I bought it the day it come out, but put off playing it because I was still playing Breath of the Wild. I recently got both Voez and Splatoon 2, so I've been playing those as well.
I'm also playing the original Disgaea, and I'm at the final boss right now. I know there's a lot to do after beating the game, but I don't think I'll bother with much of the post-game content.
This weekend, well, I have to put down my PS4 and Xbox controllers because of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. Its a new IP so I have to give it a shot. I know it's using old IPs but its the a new IP as much as Smash Bros was a new IP on the N64. I may throw in a bit of Dead Rising 4 if I get bored but I'm set with Mario for at least this weekend.
I bought the Risky DLC for Shantae 1/2 Genie Hero, so I have to play that too.(PS4)
I'm on my second rundered through Sundered after I blundered my last plunder.
Knack and Rachet and Clank, as well as Lara Croft: Osiris. Enjoying them all, but Rachet is probably the weakest of the three — starting to tire of it after about 4 of the worlds.
Lots off pokemon go. Loving the new raiding system.
Trails of cold steel 2 on the ps vita.
Mario + rabbit on the switch.
Game on the go never been better.
Switch: Zelda BOTW, I am having a hard time Finding shrines..
Mario kart 8 deluxe Getting better with every round.. Still waiting to buy persona 5 and Ys 8 when that drops...
But.. I can finally say im going to work at a big CPA firm ( as a CPA in training) so not that many hours to game anymore
Currently downloading Absolver, which im looking forward to, & also Dying Light: The Following which I still haven't finished..
Still playing the same old games that I've been playing for a while. I'm getting towards the end of Smash Bros Wii U and Poochy and Yoshi's Wooly World, so maybe next weekend I'll start some new games.
I'm still playing through sonic mania! Just picked up firewatch as well.
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 (PS3) Thanks to my close friend nicknamed Cloud Strife from a local game development company. So awesome!
Yakuza Kiwami
Animal Crossing New Leaf
Dragon Quest VIII on 3DS
@john_c how are you liking Sherlock Holmes? I liked Crimes and Punishments a bit better, but still enjoyed it a lot. I really hope they keep putting out the series on PS4. I love collecting the clues and using the deduction board. Some of the mini games are not the best but the ability to skip them relieves that frustration.
@wiiware it's surprisingly good! 😊👍🏻
Another weekend primarily in VR Star Trek (one trophy till my play) dirt rally, dirk wilde' rush of blood, finished Fated, and even a couple of levels of space rift. Outside of that tried to get into Until Dawn but it's not really grabbing me but will keep going with it as sure will get better soon once I care about characters a bit more.
Sword Coast Legends for me.Not bad for $5. A little rough around the edges, but anything in Forgotten Realms is fun. Then on to Pillars of Eternity hopefully.
@Kidfried Ha ha, I guess so! In fact, I just deleted Rachet and Clank — the water chase level in the sewer just ticked me off too much.
Went ahead and picked up undertale. So far not blown away like I was expecting to be. And I love old school retro games. Im not very far into it, does it get better?
