It’s been a busy end to the week here at Push Square Towers, with the Tokyo Game Show and EGX running concurrently this weekend. That said, WAYP has been a regularly fixture on this site for near four years now, and we’ve still never missed an issue. We’re not going to let a couple of conventions stop us.

I’m planning to get started with Yakuza 0 pretty soon, and this weekend may be the time. I’ve got a few free weeks from major releases to dedicate to the crime drama, and I can’t wait, because it feels like forever since I worked through Yakuza 5 on the PS3.

It's EGX this weekend, so I'll be checking out plenty of upcoming titles that'll be arriving over the next few months. As I queue for hours to find out how Battlefront 2 and Assassin's Creed Origins are shaping up, I'll also have plenty of time to play Steamworld Dig 2 on my Switch.

I'm fixing to buy a Nintendo Switch later next month, so I'm rushing to pick back up on my Wii U copy of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. However, I'll be sure to check out Xur and play a couple matches of Crucible in Destiny 2.

I’ll be continuing my adventure in Jak & Daxter this weekend, as well as furthering my club swinging career in Everybody’s Golf.

I will be continuing this weekend with Road to the Show in MLB The Show 17 as well as checking out the Junkertown Map in Overwatch. If time allows me perhaps some Final Fantasy IX as well.

I'll be continuing with the story of the Taken King in D1. I love the cinematics in this but I'm not sure why my huntress has turned mute all of a sudden. I'll also be falling in love with FFIX all over again.
Need to finish up Lost Legacy. Then dipping back into Return to Arkham to do the Harley's Revenge DLC.
Lastly, I'm going to start Alien Isolation. I've had the game for a couple years but I don't do well with horror titles and have avoided it. Alien is one of my all-time favorite films and I want to play this game for Halloween season.
I'm so happy after 6 weeks of plastering decorating and getting new furniture my lounge has been finished. I've had such withdrawal from no playstation and no tv for that long. I got my pro connected to my b6 oled yesterday afternoon and left it to do its updates. Went to see micky Flanagan at the O2 last night. Today is my day I feel like a virgins first time I don't know what to play or touch first but somehow want to play and touch everything all at once, do I start a new epic game or play loads of small games and a bit of multiplayer to try and get back some quick thrill enjoyment... I'm like a kid in a sweet shop.
@gingerfrog were you the peeper or the peepee? Happy gaming. As for me probs some tekken 7 and alienation with the gf if she is off work.
I got back into Yakuza 0 the other day when my Internet was down for a whole night and it's sucked me right back in. That will be my main time sink this weekend, probably along with some Destiny 2 (logged in yesterday to find myself inexplicably no longer a member of the Push Square clan) and Fortnite.
I want to start FFIX but I've decided to save it until I'm not as involved with other games, so I can give it the time such a masterpiece deserves.
I'm away this weekend, so my PS4 won't be seeing any action. Won't be time for much in the way of games, but I might play some Monster Hunter Generations and Hatsune Miku Project Mirai DX on my trusty 3DS.
It'll be more Destiny 2 for me this weekend, had a go at the raid with s formidable team made of PushSquare stalwarts but after a strong start we got stuck badly stuck infuriatingly stuck so possible having another run at that or the Nightfall. Still need to try out the Trials of the Nine event for the first time too
Yakuza 0
I finally finished Final Fantasy XII so started Doom, which had been in its cellophane since last Christmas!
Also continuing with Samus Returns on the 3DS.
PS4: Disgaea 5, Dark Souls 2
PSVita: Final Fantasy 3
Going to clear some more item world stages in D5 and make some more progress in DS2 and FF3.
After the likes of NiOh, Bloodborne and even Lords of the Fallen I'm flying through Dark Souls 2. I struggled so much when the game first released. Almost comical really.
Final Fantasy 9, some Pillars and Destiny 2. Might have to go walk around outside for a bit first though. Weird hangover.
Dark Souls 2 has finally begun. Only died once in two hours' play so far, a stat I'm quite happy with, even if one of those hours was spent in character creation.
@kustomflex
Lol. Feel so old now at 40 I have no idea what that phrase even means. I'd ask my teenage daughters but that could backfire
@get2sammyb have fun with Yakuza zero. Absolutely brilliant game.
Im playing P5 and will finish it!
Eventually
By issue 200.
Blitzing through a second run of Lost Legacy.
Playing knack 2 on ps4, I think I like the combat and story more than ratchet & clank ps4, the enemy move is more varied, they roll, defend, and attack with different way, which make it more fun to defeat them. I hope sony make knack 3 for ps5 as a launch titles, with 3 person coop
On switch I'm playing project octopath traveler demo and disgaea 5 demo. Octopath traveler goes from "meh" to "my most anticipated game of 2018", this game is pure square (not squareenix) ps1 rpg quality, from the bright and beautiful 2D graphics (way better than secret of mana ps4, bravely default and ff remake on 3ds cheap 3D graphics), to great soundtrack, great gameplay (boost mode and unique skill for each characters is cool), and most importantly great and mature story (please don't censor it nintendo), can't wait to play it on 2018
I already have disgaea 5 on ps4 but I don't have time to play it with all the AAA games backlog on my ps4 (persona, horizon, lost legacy, and knack 2), but I think I'll buy it on switch instead since I can play it quickly before sleep. The tv output is not good though, it's like ps3 2D games quality compared to ps4 2D games, it's more brighter and clear on ps4 (with the same tv setting).
going to start the career mode in project cars 2
Splatoon 2. That it.
The Order: 1886. I started AC: Freedom Cry but even though it's stand alone DLC it really isn't meant for somebody who has never played an AC game before. I did get the hang of it after about an hour so I'll probably go back and play it at some point, but not this weekend. While I'm not a fan of the Orders play style, it's just interesting enough to keep me going. Though if I thought it was 30 hours I wouldn't bother, but I know it's short, so I'll soldier on.
Also still playing Kingdom of Amaulr: I Reckon My Inventory is Full, and I'm 40 hours in, finally leaving the first area of Dalentarth. No wait, still have to go to Ysa. So at this rate a game I read would take me 30 hours is going to take me 200 hours. So maybe The Order will take me 30. Who knows?
@Hego the best team! Seriously tho. Operation Dogs B0110x was a tall order. Hopefully I'll be able to get on Trials at some point.
Been playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3D on my New 2DS XL and also Splatoon 2 trying to complete the story with all weapons
Animal Crossing New Leaf, Ryū ga Gotoku Ishin!, Yakuza 5 and soon Pokemon Gold
Looking forward to some Steamworld Dig 2 on PC, some Divinity 2, and possibly finishing the campaign in Destiny 2.
I have the team of Ultron and Chun Li on Marvel vs Capcom Infinite. Got in a few online matches and enjoying the game so far. Also playing Yakuza Kiwami too. And like @legalstep, I'll be playing Animal Crossing New Leaf and Pokémon Gold/Silver on 3DS. Maybe I'll throw in a few Neo Geo games on Switch.
I'm going to be playing the Disney Afternoon Collection, which I just bought from the flash sale. $7.99 for this collection is beyond an amazing value!
I will try to beat Lost Legacy, it has proven longer than I thought. Since I beat Crash 2 I am playing Crash 1, as I never played much of it.
On Switch my dear Splatoon 2 and the Octopath demo. A friend got a Switch recently so I will visit him tomorrow to help him level up in Splatoon 2 and give him the BotW I have been storing since March for him.
Giving Raiders of a Broken Planet a shot; looks phenomenal but its borderline unplayable since I can't invert the aim. What am I? Some sort of casual peasant? Seriously though, c'mon now MercurySteam. Hope they update it soon.
I dig the hell out of the style though, seriously - like a mix between Firefly and Metal Gear Rising. Been interested in it since I found out MercurySteam basically salvaged it from a pitch for a new Metroid Prime Nintendo shot down (ironic that they came back to them later for Metroid 2 3DS then).
Its a weird launch model they're going with, but free is free so the least I can do is check out the prologue. I hope it turns out to be as good as Warframe. Definitely has that feeling of super-high quality game production that just happens to be this "free-to-start"online-only game, enhanced by multiplayer and co-op, and set up to just constantly evolve with new content. Even when I'm fumbling with dumb aiming, I can see that.
@wiiware Hope you like Disgaea 5! Such an under appreciated series. I believe the Switch version is the 'complete' edition which comes with all the bonus maps and characters. Definitely worth it imo. I personally could never get into it on handheld. The colours don't 'pop' as much and map can be hard to make out- at least that was the case on Vita & Ds.
The more time you put into it, the better it gets. I've barely scratched the surface & I've already clocked up 100+ hours.
@toon_lonk1 I'm only about 4 hours in, but I think it's my least favourite Final Fantasy so far. It's more annoying then anything else. You have to continuously be zoomed in or you miss items/passageways. Then you have to have to cast mini or you can't get into certain places which means you do 0 physical damage. It's almost like the game wants you to be lost, which for someone that only gets about 1-2 hours a week on the vita is not fun.
Funnily enough I actually like the characters & the story a lot.
How do you like it?
Witcher 3 and Mario And Rabbids Kingdom Battle have both taken over my life but I will also make time for Pic Cross 3d round 2 on 3ds,Octopath Traveller Demo and I'm trying to hold off on Ys and FF 9 but...who knows..
I'm. going to try and finish Ys 8. Every time it feels like it's wrapping up it just keeps going. It's kind of nice actually.
@Fight_Teza_Fight I'll give it a try, I like the first one, the story is amazingly funny, I don't like the second one since the story is cliche, already bought the third and fourth one on vita but I don't like playing long rpg on little screen. I think I'm gonna like the fifth one if the story is hilarious like the others
I hope we get Disgaea 1-4 + D2 for the ps4 & switch
I'll likely be spending a decent amount of time in Yakuza Kiwami. And as much as I want to play Final Fantasy IX, I'll need to finish VII first.
@wiiware They really nailed the humour on this one, so I think you'll like it. The story is good enough- it's always been more about the gameplay loop & the humour, but you'll be laughing long after the story finished due to the excellent character events.
@Th3solution "I explored nearly all the content in about 80 hours, if I remember right. The combat in that game is super fun."
It's a fun game, but every 30 minutes I have to either go stash my extra equipment or go sell it. And that junk system - first junk it, then junk it, should have been simply a "drop" click. And I'm not a completionist by any means, but I've found the 3 "factions" story lines - fae, shield and traveler - to be as good if not better than the main storyline so I've been doing a lot of side missions. Not all of the collectathon ones though. And it's a good thing too b/c the main story line boss battles have a huge jump in difficulty, I'd never get through them just following the story. So I kind of knew I'd never finish the game in 30 hours, but I was thinking 60. Now I'm thinking 120 at least. It is enjoyable, it's just taking up a lot more of my time than I thought. I'm trading in my Xbox for the Switch Mario bundle so I only have 4 weeks left w/ that to finish up some stuff as well. Gonna be tight.
On train back from Egx and then another full day tomorrow so not much time for games though playing some old school co'op sessions with a friend tonight on Black Ops 2!
Final fantasy 9 and overwatch! Loving the new mercy changes!
@rjejr to that last part dang dood... I guess Odyssey excites ya a bit
@toon_lonk1 Ok thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I love the franchise &
I kind of have to remind myself that this is an older game & they are still figuring things out.
Yakuza Kiwami is getting all my attention, and after that there are 6 more yakuza games to play. Can't believe I ignored this series for so long!
Away for most of the weekend but did get a bit of playtime on Wolfenstein Old Blood and ROTR
Elite Dangerous-Knack 2-Destiny 2
@gingerfrog its from a micky flannigan bit in one of his stand ups.
I'll mostly be trying to finish Uncharted 4, and 100% Sonic Mania. I might also play a little bit of Splatoon 2 and Hatsune Miku: Project Diva.
Now that I've finished up The Last of Us Remastered, probably I'll play through the last two episodes of Life is Strange.
Halfway through HZD.
@Kidfried TLG is a wonderful experience. How does Dishonored look on PS4? Loved the game on 360 and I'd buy it again if worthy.
hellblade, dishonored death of the outsider
Trails of cold steel 2 on the ps vita. Onto the final chapters now.
Mario and rabbid on the switch. Half way through the 3 chapter. Games getting much tougher now.
Pokemon go on the phone. 17 new pokemons in the last 4 weeks.
Been playing GTAV and just picked up project cars 2 which is hard lol but fun. Also metroid samus returns and unit 13 on vita
@Derpie1 "I guess Odyssey excites ya a bit "
Well it's been a long time coming. SM3DW on Wii U was more linear than 3D, so Sunshine and the 2 Galaxy games haven't had a proper follow-up in quite awhile. I'm hoping it's my GotY, which is quite the challenge after playing Zelda BotW, XC2 is coming, and I still need to play Horizon:ZD. But yeah, hoping Mario can outshine them all. Probably be disappointed,, but I'm hoping.
@Th3solution "Sounds like it's time for you to power through it "
I'm doing that now. I still like the faction story lines, but "Tasks" - anybody requesting items or book pages - is being skipped over. And I'm running ahead on the map, not even bothering to take items unless I can really use them right now. So I think the last 80% of the map combined will equal the first 20%. It also seems much more linear going forward so that should help. Onward.
@rjejr hey it looks like it can but do yourself a great fav
Beware of near its release I expect leaks. Not just from reviewers but retailers sometimes give the games early...
@Kidfried it's short a sweet. Worth the pickup
