Xbox One exclusive Dead Rising 4 will be gift wrapped and dropped down the PlayStation 4’s chimney this Christmas, as Frank’s Big Package has been announced for Sony’s system. Essentially a repackaging of last year’s festive foray, the undead decapitating title will include all of the add-on packs and bonus content that wound its way into the original.
This means that you’ll be able to dress protagonist Frank West – he’s covered wars, y’know? – in Mega Man suits while you Stone Cold Stunner zombies of all shapes and sizes. The release is due out on 5th December, just in time for the holidays. Are you planning to pick this up, or did you already play it on the Xbox One? Take a photo in the comments section below.

Will sammy review it?
Lol xbox sales must have sucked bad......what's next xbox becomes a 3rd party developer like sega.
I've actually been looking forward to hearing of a PS4 release. Having said that though, my purchase will depend on how much they retail it for. It is a year old game after all and the bonus content doesn't seem to be all that great beyond extra costumes. We'll see at the time.
@AlejandroMora I'd rather replace my eyeballs with hot toffee apples.
One less reason to get the Xbox One. I've tried convincing myself that I should get an Xbox One but my PS4 seems to be plenty enough.
have they finally got rid of the stupid time limit the old ones had, if so i might buy it
@WillTheLion Honestly, the only exclusives that can convince on getting an Xbox One are Sunset overdrive, Halo (lost interest in the series to be honest), Rare Replay and Cuphead (though it is also on PC).
@tonyp1987 well not necessarily they could just be about PCs plus they have the support of PC gamers since everything they make is on PC
I rather have insomniac sunset overdrive.
I enjoyed the game but I'm surprised Capcom is even taking the time to port it. Several much better games (including Capcom's own RE 7) have already come out this year and there's several more still to release that are just going to make it easy for gamers to overlook this one. Capcom also didn't do it any favors with how the ending and DLC were handled.
Get the new Xbox DeadX now!
This game is absolute garbage, I thought DR3 was a letdown but in retrospect it's not so bad after experiencing 4.
Played the original release. It's bad to be frank (West)
I tried dead rising 2 and off the record last gen, but the game just didnt work for me. I believe the ridiculous time limit system has been scrapped for this game, but I still cant see myself getting this. Once you have played with a couple of custom weapons, it just seems a little shallow.
Meh. Regardless of platforn, the game isn't very good.
I got this on sale for $20 on X1, and I regret it. DR games are, by nature, repetitive, but the first 3 at least managed to make it fun with some interesting human enemies, comedic outfits, and tons of weapons to build and try out. DR4 has none of that charm, and makes Frank West an annoying douche to boot. Steer clear at all costs, especially considering the first two can be had usually for under $20, and are far superior zombie smashing games.
@get2sammyb off topic, but surely the remake of road rash coming out for ps4 is bigger news, I lost so many hours to road rash 2 on my mega drive. Zombie games are a dime a dozen
I have it on Xbox One, I didn't get very far at all.
Shame it's such a cash-grab that took minimal effort compared to previous games. 😔
@FullbringIchigo they have... And it's much, MUCH worse because of it.
@viciousarcanum not for me i HATE time limits in games, i want to be able to play them at my leisure, in my own time without feeling forced by some stupid clock
it's why i don't like Majoras Mask
It was only ever a timed Exclusive as far as I know so its arrival on PS4 is not a surprise - just like other DR games. Has 3 come to PS yet or was an outright exclusive?? The timing seems similar to the Rise of the Tomb Raider deal that MS had the year before and I wouldn't be surprised if 'Similar' deals (like PUBG for example) would also be in play.
Personally, I didn't buy DR4 and I doubt I will be buying it in the future - even though its one of the games that will be 'patched' for the Xbox One X (I expect that Pro users who buy will also get some enhancements too).
For those that like mindless fun, finding new ways to plow through hundreds of 'lumbering' zombies with some 'crazy' weapons or even putting on a 'power-suit' and smashing them or ripping up road signs to use as melee weapons, then maybe this is a game for you.
However, I am far more interested in Day's Gone. Technically they are not Zombies but they are far more mobile and the dynamic world is far more interesting too. Using them as a 'weapon' or running for you life and trying to use 'environmental' hazards to buy you some time before they 'Swarm' around or over these is far more appealing. I bet it has far more depth and Story too...
What is the setting of this game? Only ever played one that was at the mall. Maybe the first one? Wasn't that great. 😁
@tonyp1987 Um they were back before the Xbox consoles came out, they had games for Windows. However at the time the PC gaming market was not vialable as it is today so that's why MS made Xbox, their games were losing too much money to console gaming.
I wish Capcom would announce those Street Fighter anniversary & Okami ports instead.
I'll probably buy it. It probably won't be better than the original, but it'll be fun to mess around in.
I played this game, its not as good as prior titles for the most part. You can still have fun just keep expectations level.
@zazzy Seems likely at this point, but there has been no official news or confirmation regarding Dead Rising 3 coming to PS4.
I played the first , second and third and never finished them - the third was the weakest entry for sure , although it was a pretty decent start Titel for the one back then. Idk about the 4th but judging from reviews and videos it may be anhöbet flawed mediocre game in the series with some bad glitches which hopefully get patched for the ps release.
I never liked any of these games so no loss for me.
Looks like I'm one of the only ones here, but I love the Dead Rising games. Weird that I actually started playing through Case West again yesterday.
I finished the 4th on the Xbox One last Christmas but never got around to any DLC so I'll get the PS4 version too.
Can't wait.
This game was terrible. Absolute trash. Especially since I am a big fan of the first three games; this travesty is NOT a Deadrising game it's a shallow husk of game that was cobbled together in about a year and it definitely shows. What a load crap!
@wiiware Same here.
