Dragon Ball FighterZ has a confirmed release date in North America and Europe, Bandai Namco has announced. The gorgeous three-on-three beat-'em-up will bring its brand of lightning fast action to Western PlayStation 4s on the 26th January, 2018. That's actually before Japan gets the game on the 1st February, 2018.
The publisher has also revealed a couple of new digital editions of the title:
- The DRAGON BALL FIGHTERZ - FighterZ Edition which includes the game along with the FighterZ Pass which adds 8 new characters to the roster.
- The DRAGON BALL FIGHTERZ - Ultimate Edition which contains the game and the FighterZ Pass with amazing content such as a commentator Voice Pack and the long awaited Anime Music pack. This Anime Music Pack has been requested by fans for years and will include 11 songs from the anime. In this way, players will be able to fight to the sound of “CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA" and "WE GOTTA POWER", but also the most famous endings and background musics!
We gave the FighterZ beta a good going over not too long ago, and we came away from the experience thoroughly impressed. Needless to say, we're looking forward to getting our hands on the finished release.

My birthday is getting crowded
Does that include the Falconer soundtrack? Those were the best.
Love the official cover art. Looks pretty good.
I was going to hold out for a hopeful Switch release, but I wasn't expecting it so soon in new year! Day One!
@RedMageLanakyn nope it's songs from the Japanese broadcast and only if you buy the ultimate edition
on topic it's great it has a release date but it's pretty close to DIssidia NT so i might have to pick one over the other and in all honesty it would be Dissidia NT
How bad is it that even though I'm terrible at 2D fighters, I'm willing to splash out for the fancy ultimate edition just for 'CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA'.
Fanboy level over 9000.
My fav is still Mystical Adventure! lol
Kinda sux that the Dragon Ball FighterZ CE doesn't seem to include the Season Pass.
Anyways, Ni no Kuni 2, Dragon Ball FighterZ and Monster Hunter World all in the same month!
Is this the same day as Monster Hunter?
@get2sammyb YUP
@FullbringIchigo That sucks. I've always loved his villain and vegeta themes.
And the digital ultimate edition is up for the bargain price of 115 EUROS!!!!
= No buy of course
Why would I buy the ultimate edition for the japanese tracks? Even Budokai 1 has the original theme....
Same day as Monster Hunter ...
@belmont There's a "digital complete edition"?
Edit: Nvm, I'm guessing your referring to the Ultimate Edition?
@WanderingBullet Sorry I meant to write digital ultimate edition.
@belmont No worries, dood.
The digital Ultimate Edition seems to be cheaper in the US Store - $110.
Bandai Namco Games tend to priced their games differently depending on the region.
The US CE is also cheaper compared to the EU's but its the reverse for Ni no Kuni 2's CE.
@FullbringIchigo You can always buy the game later when it's dirt cheap in a few years. That's what I usually do for all games though.
@RedMageLanakyn Sadly no, but I've gotten used to the Japanese music.
@Fight_Teza_Fight I suck at fighters in general yet I know I'll be playing this in a few years XD.
I'm stoked it has a release date. Unfortunately, my wallet isn't ready yet.
Huh, I always understood this was like a timed exclusive for the Xbox? Is that not the case after all?
Seasonpass is €35 kinda expensive for 8 characters.....
@Flaming_Kaiser Yea, I do wonder if its at a discounted price too. Maybe they'll be sold separately for $5 each later on?
Same date as Monster Hunter World?! Oh no....
@ToddlerNaruto That's the reason I'm buying this at launch. I really wish I was good at SFV, but by the time I bought it, everyone was already on some god-tier.
Hopefully I'll be able to grow with the community by getting in early.
@Fight_Teza_Fight Hope you enjoy the game !
I just can't justify spending $60 on games right now with my current job and huge wish lists.
@ToddlerNaruto I can't either tbf. My backlog is enough to last me till 2020.
@Fight_Teza_Fight Oh yeah, I also have a massive backlog too.
45-50 PS4 games, 50+ PS3 games, 20+ 360 games, alot of DS/3DS/Wii/Wii U games etc.
I'll probably still be playing these all in 2020 as well haha XD.
