Those incredibly lucky b*stards over at PlayStation Access have got their hands on an English version of Yakuza 6, months ahead of the full game's launch in March next year. Fortunately, they've been kind enough to stream almost two hours of gameplay, which is now archived for your viewing pleasure.
The footage features general exploration, a load of combat, some side questing, and, of course, optional activities. Host Hollie also gives some impressions and talks about what we can expect from Kazuma Kiryu's swansong.
Needless to say we think the game looks great, but are you hyped for yet more Yakuza? Dust off your knuckles in the comments section below.

This looks so good. God, I need to get to Yakuza 0 dammit.
Can't get enough of these games, already got a pre-order in for this one.
The game looks very cool indeed!
My question is....why is b*stard a bad word? lmao
I'm tempted to get this, but since I started the series with Zero I'll probably wait until I can play through the rest of the series first. Hopefully they all come to PS4, be it Kiwami remakes or straight ports. For now Kiwami 2 and Fist of the North Star are higher on my radar.
@get2sammyb it's on sale for 30 at a lot of places right now which I took advantage of because I've been really wanting to play it and was waiting for a nice price drop
@dark_knightmare2 Thanks. I bought it at launch just haven’t got around to it yet.
Yakuza fans where does Kiwami fit into the series if 0 is the prequel please?
Playing yakuza 0 at the moment and really loving it. The weird and funny humor, the awesome combat and the great 80's vibe. Looking forward for part 6
@Dodoo Kiwami is a remake of the very first Yakuza (PS2) game. Chronologically it takes place after Yakuza 0, almost a direct sequel.
@get2sammyb I have more than 90 hours on Yakuza 0. It's pretty damn good!
I loved the club minigame btw
@Dodoo I haven’t played them yet, but I believe Kiwami (remake of Yakuza 1) comes directly after 0. Then Kiwami 2 (aka Yakuza 2). So Yakuza 6 is way down the line. Correct me if I’m wrong.
And I think these games average about 40-60 hours or more (some quick math says all 6 games means about a 300-400 hour commitment) so .... I’m scared to start them but I own Yakuza 0 and am waiting for the right time to start.
I think i will refrain from this video to enjoy it first hand.
@Th3solution @ShogunRok Thanks for the info guys.
Will probably get into this series at some point but time is in short supply atm!
@Dodoo Yeah, one of these days I need to just jump in. There’s no way I’ll have played 0-5 by March when this comes out. In fact, I wonder how many people in the West have actually played all 6 games so far. Even Hollie in the video, as passionate about the Yakuza series as she is and she plays games for a living with PS Access and on Twitch, says she hasn’t played Y5 yet. She said on there that there is a summary by SEGA of the story that can be read online for those who want to just jump into part 6. As good as this looks and as short on time as I am, I might just play 0, Kiwami and K2 and then jump to 6.
@Th3solution Yeah that sounds like a good idea starting with 0 then skipping a few in the middle to 6. Having said that you might like the first few so much you won't want to miss any in the middle. In which case enjoy the next ten years playing Yakuza!
I've always felt 6 is the weaker game in the series and I'm not really a fan of the 6th game at all. I feel like players going from 0 and Kiwami to this will be underwhelmed. 6 is using a whole new engine and it shows, as the game has way less heat actions and such than 0 and Kiwami. The story is also remarkably bad in my opinion, and the controls feel clunkier.
Honestly I would stick to Yakuza 0 and Kiwami, those are great games. 6 is a step back in almost every possible way. Kiwami 2 will also be using the same engine as 6 (as far as I know), so here's hoping by then they improve on the engine.
