The newly independent IO Interactive is working on a new Hitman game, which it seems won’t be a second season for its already successful reboot but instead an entirely new title. As part of a blog post celebrating the release of its recent Game of the Year edition, boss Hakan Abrak said that it’s making “great progress” on a successor but doesn’t plan to talk about it until 2018.
“We have exciting new features and some franchise firsts, which we can't wait to tell you all about,” he teased, before thanking players for their support. “Your support will directly help us to continue on our independent journey towards the next Hitman game and beyond,” he wrote. You can buy the Game of the Year edition (which includes every piece of content released thus far) from the PlayStation Store now, or alternatively stump up $19.99/£15.99 to upgrade your base version.
