EA’s not really in the habit of remastering games, but rumours are swirling regarding a Burnout Paradise re-release. Nearing its 10th anniversary, the Criterion classic is still considered one of the greatest racing games of all-time by many, thanks to its arcade handling and entertaining sandbox setting. But is a comeback really on the cards?
A Brazilian retailer believes so, listing the title for a 1st March release. If this turns out to be real, then we’re going to assume that the date’s a placeholder, but the source isn’t particularly bulletproof either. Personally we’d love to see this happen, but the fact that we haven’t even seen Mass Effect remasters on the PS4 yet gives us pause.

make a new one!!
wonder if Dead Space will get similar treatment next year?
I'll get excited when they remaster one of the good Burnout games.
this was my favourite ps plus free game on PS3. Spent so long on it, it was a good laugh.
just wait until EA announce they have added Microtransactions to it in order to "give us a feeling of accomplishment"
@johncalmc yeah personally id prefer either revenge or takedown too
@B-I-G-DEVIL
I never got a chance to play it although did receive the game through plus. Which is stranger because burnout 2 was my favourite game on the ps2. I never played 3 but it seems many consider this the best.
Burnout 2 - Point of Impact was one if my fav games back on the Gamecube, I can almost here the whistle of the turbo kicking in now...
Would rather see that one remastered please.
Would be great to see Dead Space 1 & 2 again too.
@Futureshark Burnout 3 is my personal favourite
I think that EA is too focused on titles that can be adapted to a service model at the moment (unless BF2 caused a dramatic shift, which I doubt). I don't see how you could monetize ME or Dead Space but I could see it in an open world Burnout game. That would be the only reason they'd do it.
Burnout 3 is my favourite too, but I certainly wouldn't mind if Paradise comes to PS4. I had a great time with it on PS3, despite it being very different to the older Burnout games.
Preferred the earlier ones, although did love the soundtrack having Adam And The Ants on it..
I felt it was one of the worst games in the series, as I wasn't a fan of the open world approach.

Would love to see Burnout Revenge that was in 360, I loved that game so much I did love Paradise but Revenge will always be my favorite. I think we are going to see EA start doing remasters now they lost a lot of money in SWBF2. But I would be skeptical because I doubt EA would give any game a great remaster treatment they are sitting on some games people would want
Mass Effect Trilogy
Dead Space Trilogy
Burnout Paradise (and Revenge please)
Why not Bad Company 1 and 2 since 3 is nowhere to be seen and is another franchise dead by EA.
You guys are crazy — I love Takedown but Paradise is the best.
One of the few games I will rebuy hope they include all DLC, even better if they included VR
Burnout Paradise is one of my favorite games of all time!!! It was just such a blast to play. I already got the plat for PS3 and was planning on going through it again on XBox but a remaster would be even better! Still waiting for a direct sequel but I don't have high hopes for that.
Burnout Paradise is a classic!
Loved Paradise! Day one buy! That is, if they keep the micro transactions away from it. Would hate to see such a great game being destroyed by greed.
If it does well we might see a new entry. Hopefully they don't go down the NFS route.
If EA remaster this and not the Mass Effect trilogy, they're going to have a riot on their hands.
"Nearing its 10th anniversary"
No feckin way, really?
I never played the game, so i would appreciate this remaster.
EA said that they don't appreciate to remaster games, i believe that many people would love Mass Effect trilogy and Star Wars KOTOR on PS4. Way better than Battlefront 2, the new Need for Speed and Mass Effect Andromeda.
Burnout Paradise is good but not in the same league as Burnout 2 & 3.
Having played through it twice (PS3 and Xbox 360) it's not really on my list of "need to play again".
Still, great for the gamers that missed it the first time.
Burnout Paradise shouldn't have been a Burnout title. It took all the immediacy and replay-a-race-until-you-know-every-bend-and-turn-ability out of the franchise.
If you enjoyed Paradise, good for you, you're a more patient human being than me, but I wish it had been launched under a different title so there could have been room for more Burnout games in the mold of Burnout 2-4.
Same thing that happened to SSX post Tricky.
Burnout Paradise was without doubt, my favourite racer on PS3, I considered it to be perfect in every way. If this gets a remaster it will like a dream come true, there hasn't been a better racer since in my opinion.
I can't say enough good things about Burnout Paradise, I'd definitely play through it again on ps4. Especially as the chances of an actual sequel are 0. Even the Criterion-developed NFS games just don't feel the same. Really hope this is true! Don't think it'll be Criterion doing the remaster if so though.
