As we've no doubt pointed out several times before, the PlayStation 4 is home to a huge variety of games, and it's marvellous. The PlayStation Blog will often announce new titles heading for the platform, and the latest looks like it could be worth keeping an eye on. Making its way to PS4 in 2018 after a stint in Early Access on PC, Dead Cells is a rogue-lite action game inspired by Castlevania.
With an emphasis on player agency, the game will feature slick combat and a slew of abilities that will be at your disposal right from the start. Progressing through this permadeath, randomly-generated action game will be a matter of honing your skills rather than steadily unlocking new powers. With all the toys available to you, it's a matter of practice and dexterity that will see you succeed.
As you play, you'll unlock new weapons and perks to change up your play style, as well as new levels in which to dole out some pain. The announcement trailer is brief, but it sounds promising from where we're sitting.
What do you make of Dead Cells? Are you interested in an action-heavy rogue-lite like this? Hack and slash in the comments below.

I played this at EGX and thought it was really good.
I'm all in!
This is definitely a "one more run" type of game. Excellent controls, plenty of challenge, lots of upgrades, overall a great game.
@get2sammyb i`ll take your word and put it down amongst my pile of shame
cant handle permadeaths
Looks pretty good. I wonder what sort of permadeath we're talking about. Old school retro style where there's no saves and once out of lives it's back to the main menu? That would be brave.
