I am playing right now! Unfortunately psn maintenance -.-

Installing to my PS4 as I type. Think PSN just went down for maintenance according to friend notifications popping up on screen in the meantime.

I have ZERO interest in the game or franchise. I certainly do agree though that the world looks good - just wish they would have sorted out the very annoying and extremely poor clipping - especially cloaks with weapons on the back. Its extremely off putting for me and highlighted more by the 3rd person view. I know some clipping can be expected in a game like this but it seems so rife. To me it ruins the visual.

I know some won't care and as I have no interest, it makes no difference what I think etc etc but I would have thought the jump up to a much more powerful console, these things could have been 'minimised' if not eliminated.

I was going to buy this eventually but then i tried the beta and realized its not for me. I have a friend whos mad about MH and bought the Collectors edition.

That said im very happy for all those who love this franchise and are excited to play it on PS4 , i really am.

Looking at those results saying I’m not interested in MH is too high. I really hope this game sells well. I better do my part and buy it today.

Unfortunately i cant afford it. In one month my PC and printer died . so my gaming budget is thin till summertime

Been playing it all afternoon and enjoying it so far. Makes my brain hurt with all the detail though; will need to have a read of the Push Square guides for sure.

@shonenjump86 the fan in me wants Rollins to win since he's my favorite wrestler but doubt that's gonna happen lol honestly it's a toss up . I didn't expect Orton to win last year so anything can happen.

Yes, I'll be trying to get as much play time as possible. As I've posted on other articles, played a bit of Tri years ago but never really sat down to learn it. I'm going to make a real effort with this one. Seems like a game that I can really get into once I learn how to play it.

Just finished work and will be jumping on MH World for the rest of the day. My first Monster Hunter. From the little I've played I've been really impressed.

I've always wanted to play one of these so I bought it but probably won't play until later in the year when I get a 4K tv and pro console. And my internet connection is so weak I can never play anything online so I'll definitely be going at it alone.

@zazzy I know some will be OK with the clipping as its not 'game breaking' but I find it very distracting when its this prolific.

As for a locked frame-rate, DF did a test and found that the frame-rate was 'poor' even when playing on a Pro - at least in the Beta. All are unlocked and so therefore affect the way it feels. The base PS4 though wouldn't benefit from a 30fps cap as it often runs below that in 'busier' sections - although it would smooth it out for most of the game. The resolution mode would benefit most as that is often in the 30-36fps range so a 30fps cap would significantly help here.

However, historically, that doesn't tend to happen...

I know 'clipping' has been a long term thinh with MH games BUT that doesn't mean it should continue and an area that I hope ALL games improve on - especially as game engines and hardware improve. In a perfect 'game' world, I would hope to see a sword stopped by the 'hide' of these beasts - if it doesn't cut through and therefore cut off tails or make large gashes. The beasts look as if they haven't been hurt at all - no cuts, blood etc. Horizon: ZD at least looked like you damaged the robots with bits of armour coming off. It would be cool to see a monsters health being 'visible' on the monster its self, the lower its health, the more damaged/blood covered it becomes...

Nah, it's not for me. I tried to really like the beta/demo but I just wasn't keen on the combat, no matter which weapon I chose.

I’m honestly put off by the size of the game. I can’t start a game I don’t finish even if I don’t really like it. I think it would be to big a time sink for me to justify buying. I missed the beta so I think that’s it’s one chance lost for me

My son, who just moved out on his own, and I both bought copies to play together! So, hopefully, we'll be playing a lot this weekend ... If he can stand some more "Dad" time!!

Finally decided to replace my launch PS4 by getting the epic Monster Hunter LE PS4 Pro bundle ...It hasn't arrived yet. So ...I'll just continue to wait for that. Patiently. 'Shivers'

Working over the weekend, but hoping to play for a bit with friends when home, will see how it goes. Just played it solo so far, although did help one random person take down a monster briefly. I am enjoying it so far. Some nice game play, just don't expect anything spectacular in the story department.

I may get it on the cheap but honestly Celeste is way more my thing and it is also cheaper.

Unfortunately so. When I was younger it wasn’t a problem, but this stage of my life with 2 teenage daughters, wife a high pressure job. I find I prefer to experience a range of games in my limited time rather than spend a lot of time on one game.

After 100 plus hours on MHXX for the Switch, its nice to play a Monster Hunter game in English again.

Yes I'm planning to buy & play it this week since I really like the beta, this is my first monhun game.

I like monhun concept but the games is clunky on portables system, the graphics, control and limitations of portables system really hinder the game's chance to success wordwide, capcom made the right choice switching to console and pc, especially if they want to make it as a gaas game.

Been putting some time in and pretty damn good stuff, alot of the QOL updates are playing out nicely. Didn't intend to play much but I find it intriguing to accomplish the timed events the development team provided along with the regular story quests/bounties etc. Also enjoying the different weight and impact of weapons in the full release and moments when your fighting it out with one beast but have chased it into another one's territory, the standoff begins and the intensity level ramps up through the roof! The framerate at least on Pro has been solid in the full release. MHW will sit with the other geat titles of this gen.

I was luke-warm about the beta experience. It was okay, and with proper time and a guide I could see myself really liking it. But I look at the heap of games that have come out before it I still have to play and the mountain of games coming out after it over the next 6-9 months, I’d rather knock out as much of my backlog before SotC, GoW, Spman, RDR2, Detroit, Dreams ...
But I will say MHW is releasing at good time I think. It is going to lead the pack for a couple months.

It arrived about midday on Friday and I've been playing it almost nonstop since. Exactly what I wanted. I've bounced off MH several times in the past but it having a decent controller for the first time in ages really helps, as does a more overt story to ground everything and contextualise the grind better.

@Old_School_Gamer Reviews say it can take 60 hours to see the credits, but you can easily spend +200 hours before having all armors and weapons.

Got this yesterday and am going through the tutorial aspects at the beginning.

Was expecting something huge and stunning after all the, “this could not run on anything but PS4/Xbox One”....... got to say it’s no more expanse and breath taking that’s Xenoblade Chronicles X. Bit deflated about it. Hopefully the gameplay will dazzle when it kicks in.

@KingSandyRavage you have to be kidding right? Xenoblade chronicles x world dwarfs MH but the artstyles are completely different with MH being way more demanding than xenoblades anime art style

That's really cool, my lad doesn't seem to interested unfortunately, but I'd love to play it with him. Looks like solo with a little MP with colleagues.

I had the game pre ordered but it's going to have to sit on the shelf this week as I am 9 chapters into Yakuza 0 at the moment.

My first MH game and have really been enjoying it. I really had no interest and did not play the beta but all my friends bought it so I figured I would try it... its been really fun!

Lots to do with friends.. We would watch the cut scenes as single players and then jump in together for the actual monster fight.

playing solo so far and level 8, having a bunch of fun. a tad worried about the impending difficulty in the end game as I have noone to play with lol

@gingerfrog I dont even have kids and even then i noticed time is precious when you get older so i guess you got an even more solid reason then me. Try Valkyria Chronicles its cheap great story stragegic turnbased game so you can play it in bursts.
