Sick of having to find a bed in order to save hours of progress in Kingdom Come: Deliverance? If so, you may be in luck. Developer Warhorse Studios has said that it plans on improving the current save system in a future update, alongside a bunch of other things.
A quick rundown of what the team is working on mentions "Save and Exit functionality", which we assume means the ability to save the game and quit. This obviously prevents players from save-scumming and stuff like that while still giving you the option of recording your progress when you need to put the controller down.
There's are no confirmed release dates for these upcoming patches, but last week, the game's creative director said that we can expect updates in "approximately two weeks". You can check all of the promised improvements through here.
Are you still playing Kingdom Come? Do these updates sound good? Wash that mud off in the comments section below.

Im still playing it and loving it despite the issues. The main bit that needs improving to me is the lockpicking. That is so hard with a controller. It took me while to find out how to repair my armour and weapons, by which time mine was nearly all broken. Its great not having your hand held all the time but it has been a shock to the system. I love the battle mechanics. Saving the game is no issue to me as there are plenty of camps dotted arround. I hope they dont change the saving back to a save anywhere encouraging players to save prior to anything tricky like Skyrim. Just a few glitchy bits to sort out like getting stuck on doorways etc.
I'm loving this at the moment not fussed about the save system as like other people said it gives you that sense of risk thank god for the ps4 rest mode! As for the lock picking hopefully they sort that out quick.. Drives me insane every time! Class game otherwise!
Have no problem with saving as others have said and with this system people can't abuse it like they can in other games with just reloading till you do a task right, if you use the snapches(or what ever they are called) there is no problem with the save system, just another case of people being too used to handholding in games but saying that lockpicking needs to be fixed.
@DragonSlayer1759
I hope they don't replace the save system with a skyrim style one, really should have the option for both. For those who like hand holding and don't want a challenge.
@sham8nix
I use the rest mode on my X but only when i have to switch off for work otherwise i would turn into a snapzaholic lol.
Honestly this would maybe convince me to pick the game up. I’m all about your decisions meaning something, but I can’t always game for hours at a time and hearing you can lose hours of progress with one decision pushes me away.
This sounds like a good compromise.
I have not had any issues with the save system personally. I like the risk. I'm big on permadeath games though. The lock picking is ridiculous, this needs amending, not much though, I Iike the realism behind it, but i think apart from the training I have never bothered with it. I either run out of lock picks or rage quit. I do get stuck in a lot of doors though. Are they sorting the Runt battle? Was a tad miffed when I decided I would pack the best armour, sword and shield I could find, spent 3 hours dying in spectacular glory, although my blocking and parry have become a thing of beauty now, only to find out if I had taken my bow I could have killed him in mere moments... So I am now going to spend the eve reloading an earlier save and working on my bow skills... Just to get passed the bugger. That did disappoint me. But all in all, apart from some well needed tweaks with the lock pick mechanism and the Runt battle I'm quite content with everything. Actually one last thing. The fast travel isn't exactly fast, I appreciate the fact random event occur but sometimes if I need to get to an opposite side if the map I feel like I'm in dead time. I can't even but the kettle on in fear of a bandit attack.
Rant over. Overall I'm happy with it, I keep coming back to it. And Henry is one of my favourite characters to play!
@ztpayne7
With the need to sleep anyway you will find yourself saving more than you realise. You wouldn't go on a long journey, or into battle with no sleep in real life. You essentially lose everything since you woke up.
I kinda wish they'd work on the patches in quiet. I really want to play the game and it's right there on my PS4 but every time they say "this will be done in the next patch" I feel like I should hold off until it's added.
If rather they sort out the framerate issues and the rain issue. The rain is terrible when it goes in for too long it's like the game glitches it and enlarges it by 100x so you end up seeing streams of translucent wide pixles. It's awful and I need to restart the game every time it happens.
Dont listen to the whiners and wingers who have not botherd to read the discription and cant try to take their time to learn how to play. I say keep the save system in bed and dont change it. it makes the game world more rewarding and intense, because it would make precious the life that we have and tends more carefully and well prepared when we face problems in game.. its save system differentiates KCD with other games, the moment we prepare to leave room (bed) for a mission and go back to our bed after a quest and never knew we would encounter before make it to the room (bed) it put immersion in this game and make it rewarding when we reach our bed and make a save. This is a playable game but please warhorse studio better fix the performance issues that i noted is : texture problem, 🐎 rarely stuck when jumping fences, henry get stuck when take a ladder, act 1 quest before battle with runt it tends to fail because “losing too much friend” message, when heavy rain it change raindrops to a bad graphical raindrops.. salute to warhorse studio!! It is a massive and great games you guys make, And salute to whoever reads this comment until finish, its just my opinion for supporting this game, i wonder a new map would be wonderful *cheers
