Here’s an interesting story: Quantic Dream’s upcoming android-based narrative adventure Detroit: Become Human has three different composers, each of whom has been assigned a different character. Kara’s music has been composed by cellist Philip Sheppard, who used his instrument to create a quite sombre sound. Meanwhile, Connor’s theme has been fielded by Nima Fakhrara, who used retro synths and home-made instruments to create something quite electronic.
Finally, Markus – as the leader of the resistance – has a more uplifting, hopeful orchestral soundtrack handled by John Paesano. It’s quite a creative approach, and we’re eager to see how the different sounds come together in the final game. In the meantime, there are some samples set to some new gameplay footage in the video embedded above.

Vinyl edition please!
Sounds great
Very interesting approach. I wonder if that will make it sound disjointed and less cohesive. But I’m loving the innovation.
@Th3solution They mention that at the end of the video, but it sounds like there was some degree of collaboration? Now that I think about it, I want to say Horizon also had multiple composers.
Paging @gbanas92 — he'll know.
@get2sammyb @Th3solution
Horizon had, I wanna say, 4 different composers, possibly more counting the expansion?
Quantic Dreams last title also had several composers, 3 in fact. Although that was because of a much more depressing reason
This different composer for each character is a really cool idea though!
@gbanas92 I knew you'd know, thanks Graham!
Not unusual to have several composers collaborate on a game but I haven't heard of any game that has taken this approach deliberately. Should be really interesting to hear the different styles and character motifs potentially collide and blend with each other assuming the narrative does also.
@gbanas92 @get2sammyb Awesome. Thanks. I’m at work so couldn’t watch the video yet 😬, but I feel good about it, and am actually looking forward to this game a lot. May preorder.
this game is going to be everywhere in the media when it drops i reckon, i cant wait
