Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age got a cool new trailer during Square Enix's E3 2018 showcase. It's very story-focused, and gives us a better look at the game's colourful cast of characters.
Dragon Quest XI is out later this year on PlayStation 4 -- the 4th September, to be precise. Are you hyped for this latest entry? Join us for an adventure in the comments section below.

Looks lush. Really looking forward to this one.
Day ******* one
This is my most hyped for game this year!Have Spiderman on preorder but will most likely be too deep in this fantastic looking rpg to care about anything else.Have enjoyed all the Dragon Quests and it's about time we finally have a new meaty jrpg of the franchise on a console after the amazingly brilliant Journey Of The Cursed King back on the PS2!
Day one!
How much is the steelcase, it's either steelcase version or waiting for 20% psn discount code for the game.
Edit: Dragon quest XI steelcase edition is expensive at $150, I guess I'll buy the digital version if I have discount code. The $80 kingdom heart 3 steelcase edition is mine though
@wiiware Yeah I saw that Steel Case collectors edition and really want it but seeing how expensive it is i really shouldn't pay that much for a game no matter how much I'm looking forward to it...
That's what I'm telling myself anyway..
As much as I liked DQ8 on PS2 I'm not sure I can go back to playing a game that looks like DQ8 on PS2 in HD after looking at newer JRPG on PS4 and even Wii U.
NNK2 has the same type of anime cell shaded graphics but the world looks so much more alive, almost 3D compared to 2D. Weird.
Massively looking forward to this! My summer will be spent playing Dragon Quest 7 in preparation!
Majorly hyped now, makes me want to go back and finish Dragon Quest 8 on my PS2 (or play the 3DS version).
@rjejr I think this game is just as lively and vivid as Ni no Kuni II, but to each their own.
@ToddlerNaruto Lively and vivid it may be, I'm having a hard time figuring it out myself, maybe just less detailed? Every character in NNK2 seems to have a bunch of different colors w/ shading or accessorizes or whatever, DQ11 the people look more solid. Maybe DQ11 is just brighter and NNK2 everything is whitewashed or muted and I prefer that look? Not sure exactly, just see what I see.
Moot point now, ordered NNK2 last night, should scratch my JRPG itch for awhile.
@rjejr True enough, not like you have to order/play DQ11 day one. You can buy it down the road when it's $20 New, that's what I plan on doing haha.
@ToddlerNaruto "down the road when it's $20 New"
Well since it's a JRPG releasing September 4th I'm guessing down the road means Black Friday about 3 months after release.
@rjejr Yes sir . Either that or wait for Summer 2019 sales, I'm in no hurry to play it hehe.
@ToddlerNaruto Well if you can wait until summer 2019 might as well wait until it's part of PS+ or $5 w/ PS+. $5 is my buy price for 2nd tier games, I'd buy DXXI for $10. I think I got Ni No Kuni 1 for $11. I don't know why it was $11 but it was close enough.
@rjejr You are my fellow bargain bin hunter <3.
Don't get me wrong though, I'd buy games at full price if I could afford to, but sadly not an option for me.
@ToddlerNaruto We buy games full price occasionally if I think it will be worth it and we really have to have it day 1. And Ninteod games keep their prices for about 3 years so either Day 1 or wait 3 years. Though "full price" I suppose is relative w/ the 20% off Amazon Prime discount. Bought GoW for $48, finished it, and traded it in for $39. And if we all want a game - my 2 teenage sons and I - we'll each chip in $20. Though there aren't too many games we have in common.
But really, why pay full price if you don't have to?
@rjejr I've been following this mindset since I got my first PS3 way back in 2011 .
Especially when there is an useful subreddit that announces all of the new PS4 deals daily.

@ToddlerNaruto I used to get all of my deals from the CAG website, cheapa$$gamer, but now I just follow them on Twitter and find out whatever I need to know. Or on here every week w/ the Flash sales. I'm buying too much as it is, I don't need any more temptation, but thanks for the link.
