Well, here's our first real look at ANTHEM in gameplay form. BioWare showcased around four minutes of the title during EA's EA Play press conference, and the footage gives us a decent enough idea of how the third-person shooter will function.
It's got a bit of exploration, some action, and a brief look at the various skills that each exosuit -- or Javelin -- has to offer. It's also got loads of big bright damage numbers popping up all over the screen.

the visuals look great and the music sounds good but that's about it.
still looks like a destiny game but with flying.
even the suits resemble the titan, warlock and hunter classes from destiny in some way.
The structure of the game sounds almost exactly like Destiny. Hub location, missions, co-op enabled, persistent environments...
I can't fault the visuals, they are solid. Some of the sound effects seem like they might have been borrowed from Mass Effect. The jet pack is definitely version 2.0 of ME Andromeda's.
I really hope I won't need PS plus for this.
ME Andromeda online.
At least it seems better than Destiny. Not my kind of game though.
Disappointing. I was expecting something fresh and ground-breaking from the reveal, as it really impressed me at E3 2017. But, it just looked extremely by-the-numbers. Good production values, but you would expect that anyways. Days Gone looks better than this.
@ApostateMage @BearsEatBeets It definitely has elements of Mass Effect, doesn't it? I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that. It's almost like an evolution of Andromeda's combat.
a lot of that looked pretty much like last year's E3 video. visuals aside, still looks a bit rubbish to me.. and the dialogue... what the hell's happened at bioware.?
Hard pass from me. Days gone got my February money in the bag
It's got some very pretty corridors but I can't say that it excites me in any way so far, well the numbers flying out of the enemies when shot did make me excited for Borderlands 3, so there's that
Looks great a cross between Destiny & Mass Effect.
I wonder if critics will say all those damage numbers on screen will "break the immersion" like they did with Days Gone, or if it's just people who like to hate on Sony exclusives.
LMAO, how can you see what you’re shooting with all those numbers on the screen?
Anyway, I’m disappointed we didn’t get to see any real dialog/story scenes or decision-making...I’m guessing there won’t be any?
I hope they have another free 10-hour trial like EA has with most of their other big releases...(on PC at least).
More into single player games, but this has good sound and visuals.
@smelly_jr there will be decision making. There is still 8 months left of showing stuff. They shouldn’t spill out everything just yet.
@ShogunRok
To me it actually sounds more like Monster Hunter, have a central hub where a lot of the story and cutscenes are placed in. Go out alone or with a team, or jump into another player’s session, if made public.
Also choose your load out etc before you go as you can’t switch everything mid-mission. Even have your own kind of room you can spend time in.
Sounds a bit like Jeremy Irons's Alfred Pennyworth.lol
I'm not as excited as I thought I'd be.
