Hitman 2

IO Interactive’s assassination toybox is turning its attention to the Grand Prix, as Agent 47 is forced to infiltrate a race course in order to dispatch a new crop of shady characters. Continuing the story from 2016’s supremely successful reboot, the Danish developer has decided to ditch the episodic model that defined its predecessor, instead opting to serve up all of the game’s levels on day one. The studio will still be treating this sequel like a service, though, so expect regular content drops and Elusive Targets – as well as a new co-operative sniping mode.

Kingdom Hearts III

It’s finally got an official release date, so assuming that Square Enix doesn’t muck things up over the next six months, it’s safe to finally get excited for Kingdom Hearts III. The thing is, this long-awaited sequel looks legitimately great; there are question marks over the anime elements for everyone but dedicated fans, but the artstyle is sharp and the action looks great. Will it be worth the wait?

Resident Evil 2

Capcom’s classic survival horror is back with brand new graphics and an over-the-shoulder perspective. Due out early next year on the PS4, the long-awaited Resident Evil 2 remake takes you back to Raccoon City, and puts you in the shoes of rookie cop Leon S. Kennedy and student Claire Redfield as the T-Virus spreads, zombifying the settlement’s inhabitants.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

Bloodborne mastermind Hidetaka Miyazaki returns with Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, an action role-playing game set in the late 1500s. Published by Activision, the game promises “larger than life” foes, and will require you to blend stealth with bloody confrontation in order to succeed on the battlefield.

Spider-Man

Insomniac Games’ take on Marvel’s iconic web-slinger is almost here, and the Burbank-based developer showed exactly what we wanted it to at E3 2018: villains – and lots of them. The wise-cracking web-slinger will be going up against the likes of Vulture, Electro, and Rhino when this PS4 exclusive launches on 7th September – and it looks like there may be one more bad guy that the developer’s keeping underwraps.
