Give Mafia III a try guys. Cool story even if it is repetitive.
I'd recommend taking your taking your time with Mafia III as well.
Maybe do one area at a time and take a decent sized break between them because the gameplay can get awfully repetitive and dull if you play too much at one time.
The story is fantastic and each major cutscene and the action setpieces often following them are huge highlights of the game. It's just the monotonous map clearing that gets frustrating and boring.
Also one final note is that I believe the game has been quite decently patched post-launch. When I played it originally there were bugs all over the place. Hopefully they've been somewhat sorted by now.
Never played any of the Mafia games.
May give it a shot down the road.
I checked my ps plus store but nothing yet
@get2sammyb I agree, I bought the game in a sale and it has compelling elements certainly. I think the realisation of the city and period are also really well done. The game play is where is falls for me though, it does get repetitive and I'm yet to complete the game. Think I will go back to it though.
Will probably play Mafia 3 until I get bored. One good thing about PS+ games, I don't feel the need to play them.
I told my son he could play M rated Serious Sam BFE b/c even though I don't like FPS that series of games was fun and I can't recall anything M about it.
I wish PSVR would get some non-scary games. My kids and I were in Dave & Busters yesterday and those shooting games seem perfect. Deadstorm Pirates is our favorite but the Jurassic games are fun as well. There was a new "Let's Go On Vacation" game that was a combination chair movement ride and shooter which looked interesting but not enough for us to try it. We have Blood Rush at home which is my favorite PSVR experience but it's too scary for the teens.
I already own Mafia 3 and not interested in the rest, so will be passing on this month.
The cutscenes are fantastic.
I'll probably only play Mafia III, and maybe try Here They Lie. I'm not interested in MP games.
Uh...why are the games STILL not available here in NA? The store was updated nearly an hour ago...
@LaNooch1978 The Departed is most definitely a mafia movie. Not all Mafia are Italian.
@LaNooch1978 You JUST said that they are called mafia. Where it originated has nothing to do with it. Mafia is mafia. Irish, Russian, Italian, doesn't matter.
@LaNooch1978 You can throw Google searches at me all day. The Departed is a mafia movie and Die Hard is a Christmas movie. But this is the last I'll say on the subject, you can have the last word if you need it.
I'll add them to my account but I won't play them because Dead by Daylight I've seen and it's not my thing, and Mafia games I've never been in to. On top of the huge back log already and new games coming like Spyro soon I'm going to be backlogged just like I am with my PS3
@LaNooch1978 I completely agree with you. La cosa nostra is the MAFIA. Other countries have their crime syndicates but they are not the mafia because that word is associated with italian (mostly sicilian) criminal organisations.
PS: Scarface is also a good mafia movie.
@LaNooch1978 Interesting.
I was curious so I couldn’t help but look up the Wikipedia article on the Mafia to learn more. I was under the impression that “mafia” was an acronym that stood for something in Italian, something about the mother country of Italy I thought I heard long ago. I see that I have been misinformed and it actually comes from the Italian word mafiusu which means “swagger” or “bravado.” Ya learn something new everyday. Now I need to pull myself away from reading about the Mafia so I can work. 😂
Mafia 3 for sure. Traded in my physical copy for this digital copy 😊
@LaNooch1978 Well, maybe your next research paper can be on Crime and Criminals in Video Games.
