Here's a bit of a weird story for you: Divinity: Original Sin II - Definitive Edition will be playable early on PlayStation 4. Pre-order the game and you'll be able to get stuck into the title's first act, which apparently lasts around 30 hours, starting next week, on the 14th August. The full game doesn't launch until the 31st August.
Will you be taking advantage of this? Set out on a grand old journey in the comments section below.

I'm not getting the game, but this approach to game releases should be supported.
Unsure of getting this as the first one me and my girlfriend played a couple times, about 10 hours through it and we just couldn't really get into it. Maybe we should try sticking it out again because its not too often you can get a splitscreen RPG. If ever.
Well this was RPS Game of the Year last year so it's definitely a game I'd check out. I played the first one with my brother and I loved it.
Oh that's neat. I might do just that.
What's the point? Seriously. Wow, we get to play it a bit earlier. Big deal.
@naruball 2 weeks earlier is significant for a pre-order bonus. That likely means that the first chunk is ready, while they're still cleaning up the rest.
There are many devs that could operate in this way rather than the normal release day or long term early access period. Pre-ordering for a 2 week early access to the first chunk of the game is a very nice bonus.
@Spectra well.. did you play the first one on PS4? It'll be just like that. Think Diablo on console.
It has actually been incredibly well optimised for PS4.
My only question is will it be 30fps or 60. I would like 60, but understand they chopped it in half to accommodate the split screen, which is a shame as I suspect the majority of people played it single player.
@Shepherd_Tallon Dude i kept forgetting the name/release of Death's Gambit, looks so freaking good cannot wait. Its a public holiday here on the day after release too
Is this region specific? Checked out the preorder on UK PSN and there's no mention of it.
@Shepherd_Tallon I preordered DG as well, have been playing dead cells waiting for it to release.
@nessisonett I think it was actually Dead Cells their game of the year.
I want it. I need it. The first one was mint.
@Spectra it's about as good as you could hope for on console in terms of inventory management. As for player control it's just like Diablo. They really did a good job porting it.
