Wait, is this coming out soon? Good grief, there really is no let up, is there? Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has gone gold, which means that development is complete and the title is ready for manufacturing ahead of its 5th October release. “We hope you'll enjoy playing the game as much as we did developing it and can't wait to see which paths you'll choose,” Ubisoft tweeted.
There’s not really much else to say, other than that October is currently looking borderline bonkers. In addition to this, there’s also Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2 to look forward to – crikey!

@Medic_alert Yeah I don't think I could play Origins and this back to back. I've decided to wait until around Christmas to play this one, but I'm really looking forward to it.
and good news is if you want the ACTUAL story, you know one of the main draws of an Assassin's Creed game, the book is out in October too
and that book is the ONLY way to get the canon story that future games will be referencing
it's the first time i'm aware of where the latest game in a video game series ISN'T the canon and a book is
"finished" as in won't need a huge day one patch? doubt it.
Ok?? Well of course it's finished. Retailers usually get the physical copies about 2 weeks before release date and we are about there. I remember when I worked at Kmart and we got our shipment of Final Fantasy VII in for PS One I wanted to buy it then but was told I couldn't because they would get into trouble.
So basically in other news the sky is blue and water is wet.
@huyi And numerous others.
@Tasuki THE SKY IS BLUE!!!!!!!!
@Medic_alert It doesn’t work, because as neat of a Spartan game as this will be, it’s got nothing to do with Assassin’s Creed. If you removed the name it could be so easily advertised as a new IP.
I get the whole they could drop the Assassin’s Creed name but that name helps to sell copies so I don't really blame them.
I actually didn't much care for the AC series intill Origins. I loved the changes and can't wait for Odyssey.
After Origins (I loved it) I'm waiting for a sale on this one simply cause it's too time consuming!
Also Red Dead is a must l before any of these games
ice ice baby.vanilla ice ice baby.nice assasin creed odysey.word up son
I'm super far behind in the series, but now that AC3 Remastered is releasing I'm gonna eventually resume playing.
My first priority though is beating Spider-Man/Rise of the Tomb Raider and then starting a Halloween/Horror themed game in time for Halloween.
After that I'll switch over to Kingdom Hearts series, plan to marathon it in time for KH3 when it releases.
@Medic_alert RPG== needed extra depth. Mimicking other great games doesn’t solve an issue, and the series wasn’t updated in the slightest. It’s just abandoned everything about that makes it AC. It’d be like if Hitman became an RPG and wasn’t focused on assassinations so it was “updated and current like other games.” It’s not okay and it wouldn’t be Hitman (or nearly as accepted.) An update would be a AC game that changed the system to take advantage of the new hardware to fulfill the core ideas of the series. Unity was exactly what the series needed, but Ubisoft rushed it out the door so it didn’t have it’s chance to shine. The fact they’re making you a Spartan who doesn’t need to care at all about stealth is proof that the series is dead and gone. They just keep desecrating the poorly dug grave for it.
And Horizon is (was) nothing like AC. How does it a later generation high quality RPG showcase AC as a flashy PS3 game? Just because it progresses the generation doesn’t deny other PS4 games of being “true PS4 games.” Like inFamous: Second Son is a true PS4 game regardless of what has and will come later. By that standard a generation never starts until it’s halfway done.
@Medic_alert @Jaz007 problem is if your reliving someones memories then how can you choose what gender they was, who they romanced and what they said and did at key points
you say throw in the animus stuff but the game itself fundamentally breaks the lore of the series with the ability to chose which is a great game play mechanic BUT it's just not needed for some games and cramming it in IS just doing what is "trendy" now the change up in the game play was needed and there is no doubt about that, even though i think it had quite a few issues such as it's level system but Origins at least attempted to make itself an Assassin's Creed game, even if the modern day protagonist was about as interesting as wet cardboard (i can't even remember her name that's how much of an impression she left)
thing is it's probably going to be a good game from a game play point but i think it's going to be a bad Assassin's Creed game because it's thrown all those years worth or lore and story out
it really does feel like they made a historical RPG game and then said "OH WAIT!, we need this to sell so lets slap the AC name on it"
@DLB3 What's with bonkers in quotes??
@Medic_alert OK so lets look at it logically your using an animus to watch the memories of your ancestors in this case the female choice is the canon according to Ubisoft then how can you chose what gender your ancestor was? or who they romanced
it's already events that have happened you can't for example watch a home movie of your grandparents and then say "you know what change grandma into a guy and instead of having a barbecue in the video they will have a picnic"
it's the same principle here EVERYTHING that goes on in the animus has already happened so you shouldn't be able to make the choice, doing so breaks the LORE of the series NOT the game itself
and besides what't the point in having a choice system if it's not going to carry on into future games, it's not like Mass Effect where your choices affect the next, here nothing you choose is of consequence so what's the point?
@Medic_alert but it wont affect any future games which makes them meaningless
@Medic_alert No, there's no hidden blade in Odyssey. Stealth is not required or something your character needs to be good at. so it's not AC anymore, it hasn't evolved. It didn't go form monkey to man so to speak, it went from monkey to a komodo dragon. You can stab a sleeping guard and not kill him. You may as well call BOTW Assassin's Creed because you climb stuff, jump on people, and stab them. It's doing the same thing just as much. Horizon has good open world from what I've played so far, BOTW also has some good design too, but neither have a single thing on Unity for creating a living and breathing (and historical I'll add) world. It to this day has one of the best open-words (worlds, not side-quests) I've ever seen. Syndicate not so much. Horizon did better in other places, but Unity's world did a lot of things better than it did. World building doesn't need to involve choice and whatnot. It's builds on history, which it was doing fantastic with Unity, the amount of history was nuts in-world and in the side-quests (again not so much with Syndicate lol). I'm not even sure what you want from it. If you combined some of the more in-depth side-quests of Syndicate and the history and majesty of the world Unity had, it'd be beyond amazing.
If they want to make Odyssey, that's fine, but lay AC to rest in peace for a while then.
Was looking forward to this, till I realized there's no Greek audio language in the options. What's with all these Greek games like this and God of War and all you get is French, Italian, German and everything else, apart from the language intended.
Even if I really liked Origins, still not sure if I will get Odyssey on the release date. I don’t like the sound of this new feature, that you can build an army now.
Anyway, I want to play Odyssey someday, maybe the reviews will convince me to get on the release date.
@KidBoruto I didn’t like AC 3, the story was a disappointment, imo, it had so much potential.
Black Flag is really fun, so cool to be a pirate.
I didn’t play Rogue and Unity.
Syndicate is so underrated, one of my favorites, the gameplay is a blast, also there are many great characters.
Origins is also great, Egypt is vast and impressive.
Btw, I didn’t play any dlc for these games.
Just my opinion of the last games, hope you have a great time. Cheers!
lol no thank for COD black ops IIII.. no single player campigan mode. i am not into Multiplayer games like Fortnite, PBG and other
@PS_Nation I own all of the AC games on PS4 except for AC3 Remastered, AC3 Liberation Remastered, and upcoming AC Odyssey.
However I've only beaten AC1 & AC2 on PS3, and was starting Brotherhood...then I realized might as well wait to play the PS4 versions so I stopped my marathon haha .
I honestly think this should of been pushed back to December, it’s most likely going to suffer releasing in the same month as Black Ops 4 and RDR2, those two are going to dominate the sales chart till at least the new year with RDR2 coming out on top, I’m predicting.
@FullbringIchigo The animus garbage made the game worse for me. 😁
@PS_Nation Evie was awsome. 😁
