Judge Eyes is the new game from SEGA's Yakuza Studio. It was announced earlier today at Sony's PlayStation LineUp Tour event, and the initial trailer had us wondering how it was going to play.
As it turns out, it looks like Judge Eyes is basically a Yakuza title. Basically. It's set in Kamurocho (of course it is), and it's got Yakuza-like action combat complete with crazy moves and gangs of thugs.
Now look, we're not complaining -- we bloody love Yakuza -- but when the developer said it had a "new IP" we expected something... A little different.
Ah, who are we kidding? We'll play the hell out of this.

I don't care, it is a must buy already!
I like the detective spin on the Yakuza formula, though. Really looking forward to this.
I remember one of the side missions of Yakuza 3, where you have to gather evidence and talk to people to solve a murder.
And SEGA, please port Binary Domain to PS4.
I'm perfectly happy with this being a Yakuza-style game, I just think it's hilarious that they said it was a brand new IP, and then they go and make a Yakuza game with a different name and detective elements.
You've got to laugh!
I have no problem with this game being a Yakuza spin-off.
Dig the detective aspect, would have been cool if it were a hard boiled noir detective story set in 70's Tokyo with a unique style like branded to kill or Tokyo drifter.
Interesting, I still can’t go wrong with anything that plays like Yakuza.
Just bring kenzan and ishin english and with dragon engine
Ono-michio is in the trailer! hahahah
It could be their best work ever. Bloodborne was only slightly different than dark souls, but I'd have it no other way. Sekiro might be different enough though.
Story and gameplay videos are now available with Eng subs on the official PS Youtube channel.
Thanks for the trailer, game looks interesting but I'll prob wait awhle before touching.
I am ALL IN! And super looking forward to Fist of the North Star as well!
Skate!
