PlayStation VR’s birthday has come and gone, but don’t worry if you didn’t buy your headset a card, because Sony’s gifting select virtual reality adopters a $10 discount code for the PlayStation Store. The promotion – which is being sent via email to US PlayStation Network members – expires on 23rd October, so you haven’t got long to take advantage of it, but it’s effectively free money so we’re sure you’ll put it to use.
There are actually a ton of PSVR games on sale in North America right now, so may we recommend you invest the complimentary cash there. Just don’t come complaining to us if, for whatever reason, you didn’t get a code – we didn’t compile the mailing list!

Can we UK owners have some love too please?
@Oddbodjunior Don't worry, I'm in the States but never get anything like this.
I've been a PS3 owner since the beginning, or near it. Plus member since it was available. PS4 launch day, PSVR launch day, PS4 Pro launch day. I get all of their promotional emails telling me about new sales or upcoming games, but I've never once gotten any kind of 20% off coupon or PSN credit. I'm not alone in any of this. :/
@glassmusic I usually don’t either, but I did get this one! I almost missed it, it was buried at the end of what I thought was another weekly VR email.
I just got the netflix code in the uk, so i hope we see similar rewards in europe for owning a psvr!
@Rob_230 I did too, but when I entered my email, I was told that I can't get it for some reason.
Well poop.
@naruball thats odd. Mine has applied to my account no trouble. And interestingly because i have the lowest tier netflix account i will get 6 months free (sony are crediting for the highest tier). You should take it up with their customer service team via twitter! Hope u get it working
@glassmusic "I'm in the States but never get anything like this."
Yeah that's pretty much me too. Well except for the Day 1 part, I usually wait a bit. But I do own a Wonderbook, and 2 Move controllers and a Nav, so between not getting this or the Netflix offer I'm kinda bummed.
Just remembered I ordered the PDP Cloud Remote yesterday and it's supposed to come with a 1 month trial of PS Vue. I hope I at least get that to work or the remote is going back.
@Rob_230 Thanks, man! For some reason, I forgot about customer service.
@naruball there was a code generating issue. I couldn’t use the email at first as well. I contacted Sony and the sent me a specific code within 24 hours. It was basically a $33 account credit.
@glassmusic do you register all your products with Playstation? All my friends that registered their PSVRs got a code in an email, those that didn’t register were left out.
I just checked my email, and I got a code!
I wouldn't have noticed if not for this article; thanks!
@Oddbodjunior not only do they get a VR sale, they get a $10 voucher too! lovely!
@Rob_230 i thought the netflix thing was US only, how did you get?
Got the $10, nice
Man, I'm 0 for 2 right now on Sony promos. First the Netflix offer and now this PSVR early adopter gift.
That £10 would come in very useful @glassmusic and @huyi for Astro Bot. Playing through Moss at the moment...I’m freshly amazed as each chapter unfolds...utterly captivating!!
@huyi The email came from <[email protected]>
Funnily enough I’ve come in to an email from Playstayion today with a code for 30% off FIFA 19. If anyone wants it let me know!!
@shafedog247 I don't think I've registered them, no. I don't even remember a card for that! I do have the box and everything that came with it, I'll look through it next time I see it, not that that'll help me now.
@rjejr I've been using that remote since it was released. It worked really well but chews through batteries.
I had batteries in there which my PS4 was showing as 2/3 bars full, when the controller stopped working. I figured I'd just need to replace the batteries (again...) but new batteries didn't help. Looks like it crapped the bed, so I'm going to try to swap it out for a new one. It's a great remote when it works!
@glassmusic I used it for about 10 minutes this afternoon just to see if it worked. My only real annoyance was the lack of a stop button for discs, I'm old fashioned, I still like DVDs and blu rays. They should have put a STOP button where the PAUSE button is. I've been using remotes for 30 years and it feels like PLAY and PAUSE are always the same button, then a separate button for STOP. So I'm not sure how to stop a disc if need be. I do like the that the OPTIONS button brings up that menu on the button of the screen that is fairly easy to navigate.
Of course I mainly bought it for the 1 month free trial of PS Vue, and Amazon emailed me the code but I wont' have a chance to use it until Sunday. So next week I'll be trying the remote with Vue, Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu, and we'll see how it goes. I normally use an Amazon Fire 2nd Gen Stick but if the remote works I'll use the PS4 more b/c it's wired and my Wi-Fi to the stick lags on occasion.
Nice, $10 discount for Red Dead 2 eheh
