There’s tons to tuck into this weekend, as the PlayStation 4 enjoys arguably its last large trickle of new releases before Christmas. Sure, there’s still Just Cause 4, Battlefield V, and Darksiders III to come – but they can’t compete with the triple-whammy of Hitman 2, Fallout 76, and Spyro: Reignited Trilogy.

I’m right at the very end of Red Dead Redemption 2, a game which I’ve thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish. It’s consumed my playtime for almost a month, but it’s been worth every minute.
Robert Ramsey, Deputy Editor
It's more Fallout 76 this weekend as I slog through the 15fps wasteland in order to bring you a review. The most frustrating thing about it is that Fallout 4's addictive gameplay loop is here -- it's just buried beneath a much worse game.
Stephen Tailby, Senior Staff Writer
Now that the review is all wrapped up for Spyro: Reignited Trilogy, I’ll continue gliding about and collecting gems as I aim to grab the Platinum for Spyro 1. I’ll also dip into Tetris Effect and Red Dead Redemption 2 if I get the time. Man, we really are spoilt for choice at the moment.
Allen Reynolds, Reviewer
This week I am losing my mind trying to get SS rank on every level for Tetris Effect. When I am not playing that, however, I’m relaxing with Valkyria Chronicles 4, enjoying the tales of war and anime.
Christian Kobza, Reviewer
I finally finished the Red Dead Redemption 2 story, so it's time for a break. I picked up the Spyro: Reignited Trilogy and got the platinum for Spyro 1 which was a huge breath of fresh air after so much Red Dead. This weekend is Ripto's Rage!
Jamie O'Neill, Reviewer
My excitement for the 3rd December release of the PlayStation Classic is building nicely. I've a bunch of EDGE reviews and features from 1995 to read to get myself into the PSone launch mindset, and I plan to play Jumping Flash! and Battle Arena Toshinden, too.
Liam Croft, Reviewer
It's games, games, games this weekend. One day I'll finish Red Dead Redemption 2, but besides that I'll be heading online to play more Battlefield V for review, and I hope to fit in a bit of Fallout 76 for good measure.

Gosh am I glad I booked this week off work. I’ve been revelling in my love for platformers with the Reignited Trilogy, a fantastic throwback and aesthetically pleasing remake. I’ve explored Appalachia in Fallout 76 so far without being torched by a Scorchbeast. I’ve also succumb to the nostalgia and immersion wrought by Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee.

As I get closer and closer to the conclusion of Red Dead Redemption 2 I’ve been drawing my remaining time in the old West by also playing The Forest. This survival horror game plays on primal human fears and leaves you stranded and alone in a world with the odds stacked against you. Not only is it an enjoyable survival experience it’s a clever demonstration on how effective atmosphere is in a game.
What are you playing this weekend? Did you pick up any of the big new releases this week? You know the drill: let us know in the comments section below.

Let’s playing Virtue’s last reward on discord. And maybe a little of ape escape 2.
Whoops seemed that being busy with work and the fires around here I forgot about this.
So with that said, I am still away from home this weekend so it will be more Mutant Football League Dynasty Edition and Diablo III on the Switch for me this weekend
Spyro and maybe some Red Dead!
dragon crown 👑.word up son
I wanna get back on Monster Hunter World and start on Yakuza Kiwami 2 now that I completed Rise of the Tomb Raider. Soul Calibur 6 and Street Fighter V for my fighting game fix.
Valkyria Chronicles 4. Played for six hours yesterday. It's just. so. addicting.
AC and forest.
@playstation1995 ah, Dragon Crown. That is another game I want to get back into. Maybe I’ll try and make time for that. Word up son.
@RogerRoger i could watch that for hours, lol.
Only sunset overdrive, playing it for half hour before refunding it on steam, it seems my 2011 nvidia geforce 570 is not up to the task of playing this game lol.
Although it play destiny 2 pc really great at stable 60 fps, I think bungie programmers are wizard
@playstation1995 Man I need to play this game again, I'm distracted by gow, spidey, and now rdr2
Continue having tons of fun with the Spyro Reignited Trilogy
More God of War for me inbetween bouts of Castlevania Symphony of the Night and the rather fantastic Tetris Effect
@Ralizah I really need to play VC4 it sounds like. Might need to buy it on sale.
As for me, I haven’t used my Vita in ages, so I just downloaded and booted up Burly Men at Sea. I meant to play it last week but got sidetracked by RDR2, which I will most definitely play more of this weekend as well.
Against my better judgement I bought Fallout 76 on release day and actually I'm kind of enjoying it. Obviously it has nothing on a true Fallout sequel as the quests alone just aren't up to scratch, and the lack of NPCs and the usual conversations and interactions just aren't there. Having said that I'm still really enjoying exploring the world. How long it'll last I don't know but for now that's enough.
I beat chapter 1 of delta rune last night and to me it was pure magic. I can’t wait for the rest to come out, even though it’s gonna be a while.
Today I play Red Dead and possibly overwatch.
RDR2, AC Odyssey & Destiny 2 Forsaken. Also, I’m currently downloading Spyro trilogy so hope to start that too. Loads of great games to play at the moment!
My last day of my week off today and despite getting loads of gaming done i still feel no nearer beating my backlog as before...mainly because I'm still playing the same games!
Dragon Quest XI,yes I've seen the credits after 80 odd hours but now it seems there is still loads to do...which is a great thing!
Lego Ninjago The Movie Videogame.Finished the story and just clearing up for 100 per cent.
Tetris Effect...I never thought I would end up playing this more than Astrobot but it's just so addicting!
And also on the Switch im playing Torna The Golden Country and Resident Evil Revelations.
Even though it's my birthday next week I am so tempted to buy Spyro right now and Monster Hunter World as it is in the sale..trouble is I just couldn't get into the Switch version at all..
I started replaying persona 4 dancing all night on my psvita. Tomorrow I’m going to the biggest flea market in europe (the vintage, retro and collectors expo in utrecht.) I’m hoping to either find some rare psvita games or a sega saturn and dreamcast (there are 2.000 stands from
Which 500 specifically for toys, games and collectibles)
@KratosMD just out of interest Is it your First Pokemon game?I have never played a Pokemon game before but I was interested in this game until I saw the movie trailer and then I was VERY interested lol.
Still Red Dead. Just reached Chapter 5..
Feels like I'm really moving slow with RDR2 why? Because instead of doing main missions I'm busy finding cigarette cards, hunting perfect pelts, bounty hunting, talking to strangers, pomading my hair and gad finding things in this game is really difficult, like... they're really well-hidden, no holding your hand, no clues no nothing.
I'll be getting started with Uncharted 3.
@Wazeddie22 hmm I think World is better to introduce ya to MH, but I do think by the end you prob won’t ever wanna play GenU. So you’d best consider MHW a reboot. Did you play the demo or you bought GenU?
Being mainly disappointed and bored with most games lately, I finally gave GTA V a go. Seems fine, maybe I'll stick to it for a while and search for other options to suit my taste.
@shonenjump86 yeah it's a great game for my favorite genre of all times.beat em up. reminiscing of the 1990s arcade .games.did you know the same people who made dungeons and dragons arcade back in the 1990s made dragons crown 👑.word up son
I'm still playing the quite simply brilliant Red Dead Redemption 2. Arthur Morgan has become one of my favourite game characters.
@Th3solution Have you tried the demo? That'll give you a good idea of what the game plays like.
@Ralizah No, haven’t tried the demo but I watched several trailers and read a couple reviews and have followed some of yours and others’ comments about it. I quite enjoyed the first game.
Slogging my way through Red Dead.
@playstation1995 wow, I actually didn’t know that. I learned something new today.
Today starts my week long vacation (finally) so I'll be playing some Red Dead Redemption 2, Spiderman, and Let's Go Pokemon.
I'll be finishing up Dragon Quest VIII, and maybe playing a little of Fire Emblem Warriors.
I don't seem to be getting much gaming done at weekends recently. Maybe a bit of Red Dead Sunday night.
My main gaming-related activity this weekend will be trying to convince the kids to put Spyro on their Christmas list
Final Fantasy XIII on the XBOX ONE and i'm also going to mess around on Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2, try and get those last few trophies i need
@Th3solution I do think it's quite funny that, despite this series being deeply connected to the Playstation brand, I've never actually played one on a Playstation console.
red dead f12018
Nascar Heat 3, I started up my own team last time around, and will continue to build on that. The management system is pretty cool. I'm super-happy if I reach Top 10 in any given race though, it's a tough game.
11-11 Memories Retold. I will continue on with the story. The game is so immersive to me (with the music, the voice-acting and so on) it's hard to put it down.
RDR 2 and The Forest, creepy as hell even if you are surrounded by sweet innocent chipmunks in a sunny day...
@KratosMD Oh wow that's a lot of Pokemon games then lol.I have never shown any interest in anything Pokemon until recently but every time I get tempted i keep telling myself it won't be my kind of game. But there must be something good about it otherwise it wouldn't have such a huge fanbase.
Thanks for your reply I think I have made up my mind now. What's the difference with Pikachu and Eevee?and if you choose one instead of the other do both Pokemon appear in the game?
@Derpie1 No luckily I only tried playing Generations on Switch.First time I hardly gave it a chance and deleted it but then I d/l it again and had another go.But I didant have a clue what I was doing or what controls did what and had no idea what weapon or class to use so gave up again.lol
I did play the beta for MH World though and enjoyed it but then I only hunted the easy monster.
Hitman 2. Maybe I'll finish DQXI
RDR2 OF COURSE, trying to end chapter 4 this weekend!
Also I bought Spyro ^^ and I'm thinking about mayyyybe buying Pokemon but I don't know it seems so basic this time! Even worse than before...
Just RDR 2. My copy of Spyro has arrived, maybe I will start the game as well.
I've started Mega Man 11, and I'm going to take advantage of the free login campaign on Final Fantasy XIV starting tomorrow.
Mostly Persona 4 Golden on Vita. Getting very close to the conclusion, which is great and sad at the same time.
I’ve been looking to start Hyper Light Drifter but I don’t think I’ll have the time to devote to it this weekend...
I just beat Red Dead Redemption 2 and its fantastic epilogue, along with Bulletstorm, so now I'll finally be diving into Yakuza Kiwami. I played and beat 0 two months ago, and I loved every minute of it. I can't wait to experience more of this story.
Astro bot rescue mission. Really enjoying it but can only do three levels before the Motion sickness sets in.
Also still playing soulcalibur six.
@Wazeddie22 personally man (id try asking MH people or maybe looking at various YouTubers as they can help)...
If I had to tell you a class and style to use the beginner one is SnS with Guild style. It’s a game about you experimenting. GaijinHunter has guides and is really great with guiding lost people in the game he even has a Discord w people who can help you!
If you were using the demo apparently according to MH fans the demo is horrible and doesn’t represent the game all that well...
@KratosMD Ok cheers i guess I'm not too bothered about having different Pokemon because as I have never played a Pokemon game ever I'm not going to know which ones I'm missing lol.
So i will now definitely pick it up but undecided who to go with, probably Pikachu though after seeing him in that trailer for the film..
@Derpie1 That doesant surprise me with the demo.I have played a few demos that I never enjoyed but ended up loving the game.
Cheers for your advice I'll have a look at some of those videos. And I'll definitely try your class and style suggestion to begin with. Thanks!
@Wazeddie22 Sword And Shield is considered a beginning class and guild style is very simple. Now after that if you feel you wanna put on your Hunter lab coat and start experimenting then have at it you’ll feel like you’re dipping your toe in different pools. Some may feel like an extension to your abilities.
Would I recommend the game? That’s on you. It comes with lots to hunt. 93 monsters, hundreds to near a thousand armors and weapons to craft, and so much more. There’s thousands of quests for you to do.
Oh yeah one more thing... if you plan on not going online it is possible to solo everything but I hope you have time on your hands. Cus some later monsters hehe... take a while... (although this can be the same for MHW Although it is a person by person, skill by skill basis)
Hitting up that Hitman 2 myself, and watching the wife play some Let's Go Eevee - not sure what to make of it myself, it seems super easy, but I'm also loving the 'back to basics' vibe
I think it's supposed to be a Yellow remake, but even with new mechanics and updated visuals it feels very throwback-y, and I do like that
@1nn3rSPACE it is a Yellow Remake w some elements from Pokémon Go.
That's what I thought, but I'm not in-the-know on Pokemon so I didn't wanna make a definitive statement lol
Gotta say, the co-op's enjoyable too
Spyro Spyro Spyro Spyro and more Spyro
Trying to finish God of war 3 so I can buy God of war physical on Black Friday. Also MHW and Hollow Knight.
Played a lot of Yakuza Zero yesterday. Made it to Chapter 7 and just loving taking my time with it.
@Derpie1 I gave in and just bought Monster Hunter World along with Spyro..so I'll definitely be taking your advice and experimenting.I usually go solo but I'll will no doubt go online and seek help if it gets too tough.
Im just about to look up those YouTube videos you suggested to see if they can help me with the Switch Demo too.3rd times the charm right?
Cheers again for your help and advice!
Am continuing to play Spyro Reignited Trilogy and spent ages trying to get to both secret areas in Tree Tops to carry on with 100% for each level. Also spent 37 mins completing Wild Flight.
@Wazeddie22 Well it’s not exactly the same w World just w weapons I will say since MHW does not have Styles or arts (it’s simpler but at the same time some really likes The flashiness)
If you’re gonna play GenU after World I do hope you’re open minded and are willing to accept the differences cus if not you’re gonna hate GenU a lot... it is very possible for MHW to spoil you hard.
RDR2 and Dead Island Definitive Edition. One is often slow paced with peaceful activites like horse maintenance, playing dominoes, and hot baths at a hotel while the other offers fast paced melee combat against some very aggessive infected folks that want to rip my face off. A nice balance i think.
@WCB It's fantastic all the way through, and you got quite a bit left to play. That game made me feel so many different emotions. Lol. I just started Yakuza Kiwami today. Hopefully it's just as good as 0.
It took a couple decades but now that Pokemon is finally on a home console (in a sense), I picked up the Lets Go Pikachu version for the Switch. Not very far in, but love what I have played, very addicting. My only experience with any Pokemon game prior was a demo on the Wii, believe it was a spinoff called Rumble.
Purchased D2:Forsaken in the Black Friday PS sale so be giving that a go after the NY Giants game later.
@Ralizah How is Valkyria 4 compared to the original so to speak? Is it just as difficult? I rage-quit that thing so many times I'm not sure I actually finished it, ... I just like to think that I did (selective memory lol). Also, is the mission re-starts faster in this game? That was one of my major annoyances with the 2008 game.
@Bonbonetti It's pretty similar, difficulty-wise, although tanks cost fewer command points to move, the new Grenadier class expands your strategic options a bit, "leaders" can command other characters to move with them, and you can replay the main story missions to get better scores for more EXP right away, so I think it's more approachable in certain ways. I'm not quite done with the game, and I've already maxed out my characters' levels. Of course, later missions can still be an incredible challenge until you figure out the best way to tackle them.
I played RDR2 mostly, bit of PES 2019, watched my son and his cousin play Fortnite. I tried that PS Plus game 'Roundabout' which is just about the most bonkers game I've played. Had a little spell of taking photos in Battlefield 1's spectator mode as well.
