Tetris Effect: the gift that keeps on giving. During this weekend’s Ritual Event – which essentially sees the community working together to clear lines and win in-game prizes – players noticed that upon completion a Mystery stage had been added to the release’s arcade Effect Mode. The level? It’s only bloody well inspired by the original Game Boy game. And it’s freakin’ brilliant.
While many people have now lost access to the stage, you can apparently unlock it by reaching Level 50, which is incentive enough to keep playing. It’s left us pondering what else is hidden in this title, though. A hidden Wetrix stage perhaps? A secret mode inspired by The New Tetris? The mind boggles at the possibilities, doesn’t it?

Love this game.
We're still talking about... Tetris, right?
I'm gonna pick this up at some point but now I'm all in!
This game has been the biggest and most welcome surprise for me this year.
I missed out on this weekends ritual because, funnily enough, I didn’t know when it was! Being in Australia, I only share about half a day of the weekend with the US. I wish they alerted the start and finish times outside of the game somewhere!
Aside from that, this is still my favourite game of the year! Can’t wait to reach level 50 and get this level! I just need to get better at Tetris. 😂
I’m sure it’s good & all but... I doubt it’s as “incredible” as noted.
Such a shame that the user in the video doesn't clear at least 50 lines. When you reach 50 lines cleared, you'll get a crazy good remix of the original Tetris song (Check my video from 5:15). Once you clear 100 lines the stage wil evolve. (Check my video from 8:55).

It truly is 'all connected'!
Oh my god.
I love this game... took part in the community event and it was ace!!
@Kidfried 😂
Spoiler Alert maybe?
Can I just ask, what is it exactly that makes this game so amazing. I mean, it's just Tetris isn't it. How exactly can it be any different to any other Tetris apart from some epilepsy inducing effects in the background?
@tomassi Guess we won't know unless we try it.
@naruball Well, there's a demo available isn't there so I guess we should just actually play it! But, it's just Tetris isn't it? It's a handheld game really, just jazzed up by some light effects???
@tomassi I believe that demo was limited only to the weekend before launch.
@Turismo4GT Oh, well that's that then haha!
The original tetris music still catchy after all this year
@naruball @tomassi Play through the campaign in VR and come back.
@tomassi Well, how many versions do you know that induce epilepsy? You answered your own question.
@Useyourname Trust me, as someone with epilepsy, most versions will cause it!
@get2sammyb please feel free to post me both a copy of the game and a PSVR and I shall come back to you. £34.99 is way too expensive for Tetris anyway, let alone the cost of a VR unit!
So, this game does have a European physical edition right? Because I couldn't find it on Amazon or Game's websites.
@tomassi Then your question "How exactly can it be any different to any other Tetris apart from some epilepsy inducing effects in the background?" wasn't logical at all.
@Useyourname You take yourself quite seriously don't you? haha. I was being a bit flippant.
@tomassi I take everything seriously. I also don't know what 'flippant' means, but it looks like an unserious word, so I want nothing to do with it.
