Sony you swines, this is supposed to be a day off! Like you, we’ve spent the afternoon stuffing our faces with turkey and cranberry sandwiches, but here’s the January 2019 PlayStation Plus update to sink your teeth into. The headline games on the PlayStation 4 are chill winter sports title Steep and Portal Knights, a likeable action RPG.
Of course, the platform holder hasn’t canned the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita just yet, so on the last-gen console you’ll get the Zone of the Enders HD Collection and Amplitude, while the handheld will receive Super Mutant Alien Assault and Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion – the latter of which is cross-buy with the PS4.
Not a vintage month, then – but certainly not a bad one either. What’s caught your eye this time? Return to your festive buffet in the comments section below.

Well it's ok. I am interested in Steep, but that's it.
Steep is okay if you're into winter sports.
@YeYa I actually quite liked Steep. There are objectives to complete and stuff, but it's quite laid back in that it just drops you on the mountain and almost lets you do what you want.
Not for everyone, but I found it quite relaxing.
Zone of the Enders is the highlight but I just got it on Xbox One so nothing for me this month.
Nothing for me this month. But given how much I spent on PSN holiday sales, I have my plate full until Kingdom Hearts 3.
I remember getting excited about Steep when we had the chance to play the Beta..only to find not ONCE did I manage to get a game in the hour i spent waiting so deleted it.Needless to say I'm not excited about that one anymore.
Portal Knights could be interesting and I nearly bought Fallen Legion at one point so pleased about that. But to be honest?we've just had Christmas?Surely I can't be the only one that was given another load of games?so yeah, good or bad these games will just be added to my ridiculously huge backlog to be played IF I ever find the time.
Steep is a great game. Put spotify on and make your own soundtrack for the mountains
Steep for me. Feels like the right time to play something like that. Just about to do a quick search for a review.
Excited for Steep!
Now that I'm a PSVR owner I just want vr titles x)
Ehhh... I do want to try Legion. Yeah, I'm good with that.
Might give Steep a go!
I got Steep shortly after its original release and I've since bought all the DLC packs! I'd highly recommend trying this game out, it's a visually gorgeous, chilled and very relaxed game with a surprisingly big load to offer. A fab game that sadly didn't get the recognition it may have deserved when it first came out, probably due to being a little overshadowed in the crowded end of year market!
Nice. I was hoping for both under $10 at some point . I'll take both for free.
Fallen Legion is another big title for Vita, even if Switch already has a more complete package - and Portal Knights, for that matter. Steep, on the other hand, might do on occasions until Ubisoft gets back to finishing the long promised port - IIRC from a free play weekend, it controls more or less fine on Vita.
Zone of the Enders... man, there WAS a Vita version as well. On paper. Until it wasn't. Of course, its existence wouldn't have necessarily guaranteed crossbuy, but still. Amplitude is at least on PS4 as well.
@AFCC we haven't seen any PSVR titles on ps+ for a while now but at least the sales help with that a bit.
as for me i'm not really into snowboarding games and what kind of game is portal knights? from what i've looked at it, it's a minecraft clone or something, i don't know much else about it.
@get2sammyb i would have preferred zone of the enders 2 remaster with PSVR support but i guess that is too much to ask, i already have the ps3 hd collection.
Video is in. Thanks Sony.
Na. Not much appeal for me. A cheeky VR game mightve sweetened the deal though.
I Can for ps5 edition games yes .
Yuck.
Thankfully, I have a huge backlog of PS+ games to play in the meantime.
Wow what a great month. I have almost bought Steep a few times and I played Portal Knights and loved it. Finally we get a good month
Steep seems universally well received by those who've actually bought it so for free sounds awesome.
Rare that the PS3 lineup is stronger than the PS4 lineup but there you go. Portal Knights and Fallen Legions have no interest for me and I eagerly played the Steep beta for roughly 10 minutes before stopping and deleting. I hated it. So a soft PS+ start for me.
Bleh. Nothing for me this month.
Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion is easily the highlight for me. I'm surprised I never bought it.
I’m pleased to see there are some people who are happy this month, but I’m pretty underwhelmed. Mediocre at best, imo.
Alas, one man’s garbage is another man’s treasure, and vice versa.
Disappointment games to start the year compared to this year and even more when Xbox it's getting Celeste
Steep it is for me than
Thank's!
With all the VR deals before chrimbo I would of thought a VR title would be just the ticket.
@GKO900 yeah that's annoying I was meaning to get Celeste at some point and Xbox gold gets it free we get a lineup that feels like it was meant to be ignored well I guess I will still check it out
Steep is interesting for me.
Are you joking not a bad month ? Another complete and utter month full of utter Barry White games thanks Sony thank you so much
Thought they might try a big month to get noobs to subscribe post Christmas, I was wrong!!
@AFCC ME TOOooo!!!!! 😬Eeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!
Fallen legion actually looks okay ill check it out, played steep not bad but also not amazing, gunna check out portal knights too. not too much for me in Jan but Feb..... my god
I love Steep. Pretty relaxing since you can just explore and do what you want to. You can go solo or you can team up with others. Everyone else show up as ghosts, so you don't have to interact unless you choose to.
I found the Olympic DLC to be pretty lacking, though.
Can't really say I have an interest in any of these titles. Ask well, hope there is something I can get into next month.
