Devil May Cry 5 is coming soon, and director Hideaki Itsuno has been talking about the title at a South Korean media event. As part of a question and answer session translated by Gematsu, the project lead revealed that the development team has been taking about 15 to 16 hours to complete the campaign, which should give you a rough idea of its length.
Of course, the action of DMC lends itself to mastery, so if you want to beat the highest difficulties and set the best scores, then you’re going to spend a lot longer with the game – it’s still nice to know that the core story takes a fair amount of time to finish, though.
Elsewhere in the interview, Itsuno talked about upgrading the RE Engine for use with Dante’s latest adventure. “Since the RE Engine was originally created for Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, it was difficult to implement the violent action of Devil May Cry,” he said. “We focused on upgrading the engine’s processing speed and performance.”
It looks very impressive, so hats off to all concerned!

it will probably take a bit longer for me with how much time i have to play so will be quite lengthy, especially with completing all the higher difficulties too, can't wait.
About 20 hours sounds good. I don't want it to be super long. I want great action pieces with a great story and awesome DMC dialogue. Plus they'll have bloody palace and maybe something else. Some contracts Dante does for DLC, just individual contracts, would be pretty cool.
I'm happy with that. Good value, but doesn't look like it will be filled with unnecessary filler content to keep you playing past the point of fun.
15 to 20 hours sound good to me. i hopefully RE 2 Remake take at least 10 hours to complete in Leon and Claire's campigan mode
Agreed quality over quantity not interested in games that take silly amounts of hours to complete. That’s the problem with games today, to big full of pointless quests plus makes the replay value practically zero to me. Ten hours of quality gameplay I’m happy. Or just give me retro as usual:)
15 hour is the perfect length for linear single player games I think, I don't have problem with this length, I'll pick the game is the reviews are good.
So round it down to 10.
I remember the order. No one was glad that game was short:p Open world fatique?
In what way is the campaign rough?
At 15 hours it's probably the longest of any DMC game seeing as you can blast through the rest in well under 10. Disappointed that Bloody Palace won't be there at launch though but still, really looking forward to this!
@Frigate By DMC standards this is actually quite lengthy (Not that I'll be complaining). They're usually around 4-8 hours depending on the game.
