Hands up: how many of you remembered Generation Zero is due before the month is out? This open world, co-op FPS from Avalanche Studios has been flying way below the radar, but it's set for release on 26th March. To celebrate the imminent launch, publisher THQ Nordic has posted a new trailer, which you can see above.
Described as a "game of cat and mouse set in a vast open world," the title is set in an alternative 1980s Sweden in which robots threaten to wipe out humanity. You're tasked with tackling these metallic miscreants while figuring out what's caused the catastrophe in the first place. It's playable alone or in up to four player co-op, where you can "combine your unique skills to take down enemies, support downed friends by reviving them, and share the loot after an enemy is defeated."
It sounds interesting enough, but we've seen very little of the game so far, and it's just around the corner. Will you be picking up Generation Zero? Do the robot in the comments below.

I always like it when games come with their own Metacritic score.
This is going to bomb, which is a shame because I like the setting and the idea behind it. Were I not knee-pads deep in the division 2 I'd be quite up for getting this.
I must admit, I hadn't remembered this game was out this month. It wasn't on my immediate radar anyway and was always a game that I would wait and see how well it reviews and what others thought before deciding when and/or if I opt to buy...
It looks incredibly boring. Even the trailer seems as intense as a mid season episode of the walking dead. They either walk or shoot like crazy while standing still. Leave the human vs machines to Guerrilla (come on, where is HZD2?).
@RogerRoger for whatever reason pushsquare dont seem to show their videos in HD. Might be better viewing it through youtube
Silly, dont they know that robots should be fought with a bow not a bazooka!
Humans standing still looked kinda strange... and running also... Then, part of the music is a complete rip-off from The Terminator music, which can be some kind of tribute... or not. Anyway, I'm always looking to giant robots... but HZD set the bar too high.
I'd rather it be a single-player only. Yeah, and those humans animations look like they came directly from Half-Life 2.
Looks like it could be fun. How interesting is the story and how playable is the game solo are a couple of questions i have.
I'm cautiously hopeful for this one. Strange though that we've heard so little about it. Same for EDF Iron Rain, which is also close to releasing.
Despite the rough launches of the last couple of Just Cause games, I have a lot of affection for Avalanche as a developer. They’re so ambitious in their pursuit of chaos and destruction, and their games achieve a decent amount of visual polish, though it’s taken a few patches to get there lately. Mad Max, Renegade Ops and the Just Cause series are all pretty solid action games! And JC4 is finally performing ok on PS4, btw.
Anyway, I hope this is good!
Definitely have not forgotten! Ive been waiting for this since day one, looks so cool!!!
Will you guys be reviewing this one?
