With the March Madness sale wrapping up today, you knew Sony was going to replace it with something. The platform holder has revealed that today marks the beginning of the Spring Sale on the European PlayStation Store, and it's running from now through to 1st May.
As usual, the sale is a big one, and it includes some corkers. PS4 exclusives are looking pretty good here; Marvel's Spider-Man is a tempting £34.99, Detroit: Become Human can be had for £24.99, and Horizon: Zero Dawn is down to just £15.99.
Elsewhere, other big titles include Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and Tetris Effect. There are even a decent number of PSVR games, such as Astro Bot Rescue Mission, Firewall Zero Hour, and Déraciné. Click here to view the full list on the PlayStation Blog -- there's lots to go through.

Spiderman, still £35?!! Nah. If it was £20 maybe I'd bite. Not a great sale. Discounts pretty weak on most games. I mean, the Playstation Hits titles have a whopping 18% discount!!
I'll leave it and save some money!
@b1ackjack runs smooth on my base PS4 from 2014.
The first loading screen after startup is a bit longer than I would like but that's it tbh. But then again I did not have any problems with origins either though. loading times after using the eagle depends on how far you fly from the protagonist but it's not like a full minute or something crazy like that. Also you can fly the eagle across the entire map this time. No real laggy cutscenes either since most is player dialogue but the few actuall cutscenes can be a bit choppy but no real lag or stuttering. And it's like that on all consoles I believe. But it's nothing bad at all.
That's DriveClub: Bikes covered
Oh dear... here we go again. Just get it over with and take my bank account.
Sure both spider man and Detroit have been cheaper
Stellaris for me
Rez Infinite for £12.49? Sure, why not!
Oh no.... I'll just have a quick look 👀👀👀
It just wouldn't be a sale on the ps store without every Ubisoft game ever released on PS4 showing up now would it?
How is £35 for Spiderman tempting? Am I missing sarcasm?
@KALofKRYPTON
I was going to write that it's a bit of a cheek selling driveclub in the sale with no disclaimers.
@KALofKRYPTON I need to purchase Driveclub before it disappears in August, but not at a measly 18% off! I may as well wait until August to see if it gets reduced further and, if not, accept having to pay that extra £3 more!
@Jake3103 Pretty sure REZ Infinite has, like most games in this sale, been way cheaper than that before.
@gingerfrog There is a disclaimer in the description. I was going to say its a bit of cheek only reducing it by £3 when it's going to be half playable in a years time!!! If they had it up for £6.99 or something I would get it.
@Robinsad I know, right. Rubbish sale this time out.
@tomassi I'd have to look more into the sale before I condemn it but it just seemed an odd one to highlight.
@gingerfrog true. They did the same with Warhawk I think.
@tomassi grab it on disc second hand. Won't cost much.
@KALofKRYPTON I'm a really lazy guy who can't be bothered changing the disc, so I always buy digital apart from my yearly copy of PES! I don't mind paying £15.99 for Driveclub come August if it's not been in a sale before then. It's a good racing game, of which every console gamer needs one on their HDD!
@Robinsad Yeah, a lot of the games didn't seem to have a particularly big discount from my eyes.
See this crap is why i don't bother with digital.
All of those titles are at least 10-15 pound cheaper on a proper disc copy
@tomassi
To be fair I've played loads of it but almost entirely single player offline, it's a great game
I picked up the frozen wilds expansion for Horizon for £5.79 given i am playing that atm. I may get a couple of vr games but i need to do some research first.
my wallet cries
@tomassi there are a few psvr titles that are 50% or even 60% off so i'm happy.
n01 rule for me is the discount has to be 50% at least for me to even consider it.
@gingerfrog driveclub VR is tempting but it has 2 online trophies so not sure if it's worth it or not when you won't be able to get platinum soon.
I'm a sucker for an owl psvr game with 70% off.. and Fruit ninja vr reduced for 1st time... been mostly buying vr lately as flat games don't excite me as much as they used to
HZD dlc worth it £5.79? I am like 10% through the main game but loving what I have played so far...
@nookie_egg it’s worth every penny at full price. Snap it up.
These constant sales have become stale now, there is rarely a real bargain. I'd quite like AC Odyssey and BFV, both have recently been available for £20 for disc copies so why would I pay £30 for it digitally? Heck I'd even consider £25.
Like others have said going digital only with future consoles is bad bad bad for gamers, it's what publishers want because then they get all the money and get to set the prices higher.
Tempest 4000 was £8.99 last week.
@SoulChimera done and done. Cheers boss.
This is one of the reasons why I really really don't get why idiots buy digital copies, all of these games are much much cheaper on disc even non sale prices and you actually get to OWN something then and it'll never go away unless you lose it, sell it or break it, all of which is your own fault/choice.
If digital copies were much cheaper as all they are is just data I mean like £20 cheaper than physical I might, might decide to buy them then, until that time I'd rather own something outright.
@Dandan1 Why are we "idiots" for making an informed decision based on our own preferences?
I caved. On top of the frozen wilds, i picked up lumines remastered. Thought i would boot it up for 5 minutes to see if i liked as much as electric symphony on vita. 45 minutes later....😅🤩
@gingerfrog Yeah I had the Plus version and bought the Bikes one as well. For some reason I thought I'd already bought the full version at discount ages ago but my Plus ran out recently and the game is locked now! Will defo buy it, even for £15.99, before it disappears though.
@Dandan1 I'm too lazy to get up and change discs every five minutes. I don't have massive swathes of gaming time so I like to play smaller chunks of as many games as I can in my downtime. Digital suits me better and if you wait long enough all of these games drop to stupid prices. I've no burning desire to play any game on day one, or even year one, of release.
A prime example in this sale. I bought Agents of Mayhem for £3.99 and Just Cause 3 for £4.99. Thats a combined cost of TWO PINTS!! No chance you are getting those games cheaper than that physically, and for that cost I don't really care too much if I play them for a bit and don't like them or they disappear or whatever.
@MinerWilly it just depends how quick you want to get your hands on games. Personally I'm not that bothered so I can pick games up real cheap digitally (Agents of Mayhem £3.99, Just Cause 3 £4.99). The publishers will be gutted if everyone takes the same view, they will likely actually lose money!
@huyi Absolutely, if the discount isn't 50% or even 60& or above then it's no deal for me. Luckily I don't have huge amounts of time to game so don't care about getting a game day one, or even year one. In the last couple of years I've picked up the following:
Sleeping Dogs Definitive - £3.99
Infamous Second Son - £4.99
Knack - £4.99
Star Wars Battlefront - £3.99
Battlefield 1, 4 and Hardline - £4.99 each
Dragon Age Inquisition - £3.99
Mass Effect Andromeda - £5.49
Titanfall 2 - £4.99
Agents of Mayhem - £3.99
Just Cause 3 - £4.99
The list goes on. If you don't mind waiting, there are real bargains to be had! That lot there is the equivalant to a night out I guess, and there is hundreds of hours of entertainment there.
@tomassi I have regularly seen Agents of Mayhem for £2.99 brand new and Just Cause 3 was free on Ps plus a while ago. But I do agree if you happy to wait you can grab some great bargains digitally. I have picked up Dragons Crown and Odin Sphere for around a tenner each. Last sale Sherlock Holmes game was £5.
@bindiana Well, £2.99 ot £3.99, doesn't make much difference. For the extra quid I'd rather get it digital and not have to change the disc all the time! As for Just Cause 3, I no longer subscribe to Plus so, for the sake of less than one months sub I can play it whenever I like now, rather than lose it when I stop the sub.
If you want to buy digital but not get over charged you just have to be patient. The only game I buy each year as a physical disc is PES, because I know I can sell it again at season end ready for the next one to come out.
@b1ackjack Yes, it is fine. Don't worry, I have a PS4 base model as well.
@tomassi
You have the same play style as me. I never buy day 1 either. I only buy digital now at I've got 5TB of hard drive. I already have driveclub on disc so would want it cheaper to suit my laziness.
@tomassi indeed and i agree, it's pays off to be patient and wait for the real discounts first before buying.
i'm planning to do the same for days gone, i don't have the time right now to buy day one anyway so it can wait for now.
