In case you weren't aware, Beenox is going to be supporting Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled with seasonal post-launch content. The kart racer has a ton of customisation options from the off, but starting on 3rd July, you'll be able to earn even more in the game's first Grand Prix event.
Called the Nitro Tour Grand Prix, the month-long season offers up new vehicles, characters, skins, and other cosmetics. You can nab them with Nitro Points, earned by completing special challenges and regular races during the season. As you can see from the below image, there's a lot to unlock for dedicated CTR fans:
In addition to the items earned with Nitro Points, a bunch more optional items will be added to the Pit Stop for you to spend your Wumpa Coins on. This includes the Nitro Squad characters, who you may remember as the trophy girls from the original game, as well as some new skins for existing racers. Last but not least, an all-new track, called Twilight Tour, will be added to Nitro-Fueled during the Grand Prix.
With the Nitro Tour Grand Prix lasting from 3rd to 28th July, it seems these items will only be available for a limited time, so if you want anything from this season, you'd best keep playing throughout the month.
As well as all this, Beenox has detailed a number of bug fixes and enhancements coming to the game on the same day. What do you think of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled's post-launch support? Are you still having fun with this nostalgic kart racer? Take the shortcut into the comments below.

Stellar support from Beenox 👍
I’d love to earn some of this but I can barely beat the computers on easy :/ this was no Mario kart haha
That champion kart looks good, but finishing in the top 5% in leaderboards will be tough.
Wow that is actually pretty cool, I will definitely be revving my engines come July 3rd! Though I am just ok at the game compared to some of the people I have seen online, still practice makes perfect!
I’ll do my darndest to unlock what I can!
Not sure that I'll do much of this. There's no way I'll be able to get that top 5% kart, so I'll be missing out on content regardless of whether I participate or not.
So is this all online only?? Can you get it from doing solo player events?
@crimsontadpoles yeah I hate that. Content should be for all. A sticker or logo for your name or name in gold should be prize not in game content
The skill difference in players for this game is immense. Would be nice if they could do something similar to Street Fighter 4 online and have players face off based on their ranks determined by skill levels. Would make it more fun for everyone.
It's good that there is content but it's lame that only the top 5% of players will get that car. I've become better at this game over the last few days but I am still averaging around 4-6th place online (and I'm sure that's because other racers end up leaving the race mid way through...)
I notice that the top players are using N. Tropy normally so I assume they've learned the best lines through doing the time trials but I haven't even attempted them yet because of the warning we got about corrupted saves. Hopefully I can get better when the time trials are patched but I still won't get near that top 5%.
I'd even be happy if the car became available indefinitely for an insane amount of wumpa coins. Then at least every player can get it even if it's through massive grinding.
Yeah, I wont be getting jacksh...
Like this game but prefer Motorstorm on PS3.
I'm extremely skilled in these types of games so I'm REALLY interested in this, but I can't get over the game being locked to 30fps on PS4. Still, super tempted to buy it just so I can push my karting skills. To be honest, Mario Kart 8 has been too easy for me a while now, I even stomp the Japanese racers online.
@Onion you are modest as well!
@gimmi_c @Stocksy @crimsontadpoles @Deadlyblack Everything, even that car, will be put into the Pit Stop in not specified future.
@quinnyboy58
Hey, it's one of the few online games I'm actually good at, let me boast! I'm normally crap at anything online, but these kart racers are my jam and I played the original CTR so much as a kid, my skills were crazy.
I really wish Mario Kart 8 held online events like this, I got pretty bored of winning for no reason other than to see some random number go up. I'm not likely to get CTR in time to enjoy this event either due to what a packed month July is. From a technical POV I was not impressed with this game too much but I like all the support they're giving it.
