Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is the next big Ubisoft release, but that doesn't mean its predecessor is going to be forgotten about just yet. Ghost Recon: Wildlands is set to receive one more major update before its sequel hits PS4 that adds a PvPvE mode named Mercenaries.
Releasing tomorrow, it's an eight-player free-for-all that tasks you with being the first to locate and reach an extraction point. You'll spawn without any weapons or gear, and to uncover the extraction area you must first activate radio transmitters across the map, which in turn will shrink the possible zone you'll need to focus on.
Encountering other players is always going to be a possibility, but you'll have to mix and match killing one another with helping each other out as Unidad soldiers hunt you down. The match is over once someone successfully extracts aboard the helicopter, but that can only be done once there are no other human players in the area.
It sounds like a fairly intense mode that could lay the groundwork for the post-launch support of Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, as it's something the team at Ubisoft has supposedly been working on for a long time. Will you be checking out this mode tomorrow? Find some gear in the comments below.

Doubt it. Loved the main Wildlands game, but have only touched it once in many, many months, and only for a bit of co-op with a friend. Have never touched any of the PvP stuff they added.
At this point I'm not sure about Breakpoint either, given the changes they seem to be making.
I wish they would put the squad banter back in. They lack personality now.
Sounds a bit like survival mode from the first Division but without the cold.
I wish all games came with a single player element. I don't want to be online or have to play with others unless they are sat next to me.
