We're interested in Netflix's adaptation of The Witcher. As regular readers will know, we adore The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and so the idea of seeing Geralt wrestle with moral issues and kill monsters in a big budget TV series is something that we're more than willing to give a chance.
And it looks like the streaming service is kicking off its marketing push for the upcoming show. A number of promotional images have been released, showing Geralt (Henry Cavill), Yennefer (Anya Cholatra), and Ciri (Freya Allan). They all look pretty cool.
The series itself is set to air at some point between October and December of this year, and it'll be made up of eight one-hour episodes.
How do you think this adaptation is shaping up? Are you willing to give it a shot, or are you already pessimistic? Remember to bring two swords to the comments section below.

Well, looks like I’m heading to Twitter to complain.
Cavill*
I'll definitely give it a watch.
Apparently Geralt is known to keep one sword on his horse in the books, so this is accurate.
Great now I have the urge to play Witcher 3 again.
Henry Cavill doesn't look too shabby as everyone's favorite monster hunter.
In the books he only carries one sword, And keeps the other with roach. Come on!!
Looks like decent cosplay. That Yen is so bad. And I’m still getting Legolas cosplay vibes from Geralt.
Supes, is that you? Why is your hair so long and grey?
Never played the games before but I will be watching this. Any idea when they'll be releasing the trailers?
@WanderingBullet I imagine it'll be fairly soon if they're starting to push it now. Probably a teaser trailer in the near future I'd bet.
@ShogunRok Cool, the pictures looks pretty good but I want to see them in action.lol
I'm really looking forward to this series. The characters all look pretty decent in those pics too which is reassuring.
I still have both the expansions to try which I will probably start when the series does.
Not enough to form an opinion. The yennefer one looks like a cosplay photoshoot though...
You should look up the photos of the Nilfgard soldiers, they look like something from Star Trek from the sixties. I will keep an open mind though, I don’t have Netflix but might get it if this turns out good.
That's not how I would have pictured Yennefer but I won't make a judgement till I see the series. I'd love nothing more than for it too be awesome
Looks promising! I hope they keep some of the shorter stories from the first books and not skip ahead to the main plot right off the bat.
I'm looking forward to seeing this but i'm not too keen on the role for Yen. I love the way she looks in the opening cinematic in The Witcher 3. Looking forward to seeing Ciri in action. I hope the Rats turn up in this, too.
Im willing to bet the series will launch sometime in October. Plus if its successful, not only will we get more seasons, but maybe another series based off a game from the same company that made witcher, cyberpunk 2077!!!
Please don't suck...

Triss > Yen
Come at me...
This absolutely deserves to flop
@Kai_ why?
Ive played the crap out of the witcher 3, one thing i always wondered was why does he need 2 swords? Wouldnt a silver sword work just as well as a steel sword on humans and animals?
@Deadlyblack He never sticks with a project for long enough, apparently he's a bit of a nightmare to work with.
Hopefully they manage a few seasons out of this, but they should've gone with someone else in order to get some more longevity, there's so much story to tell.
Looks like adventure of young Hercules tbh😅... I'll watch the pilot and decide
