Gamescom 2019 is shaping up to be quite the event this year, with news from a dozen or so publishers pledged during the event’s Opening Night Live showcase. Part of the lineup is SEGA, and it’s since confirmed that it will be treating attendees at the German convention to a “first-hand look at an all-new AAA game that has yet to be revealed to the public”.
Exactly what the title will entail remains unclear. While many will be hoping for a Jet Set Radio or Virtua Fighter reprisal, our guess is that this is Creative Assembly’s previously teased first-person shooter project. There’s also the possibility of a new Alien game, although the publisher’s generally seemed reluctant to follow-up on the excellent Alien: Isolation.
Elsewhere, the company will be showing off Catherine: Full Body Edition and the PlayStation 4 port of Two Point Hospital. We’re particularly excited about the latter, so hopefully the firm can nail down a release date during its time in Cologne.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record:
Confirmation of Yakuza 3-5 remaster coming to the West would be brilliant. But yeah, could be anything.
@MS7000 while I want that I wouldn't call it a AAA game announcement. More likely to be Sonic 2020
@ZeroAbbadon Yeah, it is more of a wish than anything. The announcement did say it was for something brand new which has not been seen elsewhere, so it would also depend on whether they count Japan as being elsewhere or not.
If Sonic 2020, I am hoping for something similar to Mania than Forces.
lol its just the next sonic game
Given that the 2020 Tokyo games are a year from now and Sonic is one of the mascots (I think 🤔) its probably a new Sonic game. But a new ip would be exciting.
If 'all new game' doesn't necessarily mean 'all new ip', I would gladly take OutRun 3, please.

Close but nope its the offspring off Bigs the Cat and Metal Sonic.
@themcnoisy What is this Alchemy I am beholding ? 😱 I thought Sonic and Mario were a lock.
I would like a new Panzer Dragoon and the confirmation of Street of Rage on PS4 but like everyone it's saying it's probably just another Sonic game
I want Jet Set Radio, dangit. I know I'm not gonna get it and it's probably Sonic or Yakuza, but I can dream. Too many people haven't experienced the concept....THE CONCEPT OF LOVE!!!
Virtua Fighter would be a good shout too. It's been over a decade since 5 came out. Kinda wish I saw it at EVO this past weekend.
sega team up with platinum games again.and show vanquish.oh yeah.word up son
@DerMeister I've never been the same man since I saw you coming in. The same man since I saw you Aisle 10.

Amazing tune.
Don't Sega have the Alien licence? Hmm.
@Useyourname I came here to say the same thing.
Pretty sure that Nagoshi told that they would announce the next Yakuza at the end of August.
This is the part where I say Streets of Rage 4. But we all know that’s finally getting made. So now I will go with Vector Man 3.
The next Sonic game has been confirmed to be releasing in 2021 so I doubt they'd show it off this early. On the potential of it being Alien related, it's worth noting that Isolation is getting a Switch port this year. Perhaps there's a reason for that, and it isn't just a random excavation from Sega's back catalogue?
I'm putting my money on Yakuza 7 though, potentially being the first in the series to have a worldwide launch - it feels like Sega is gearing up for something like that based on the extra effort put into the English release of Judgment. Hopefully this announcement coincides with them finally announcing localisations for the 3-5 remasters.
Would love to see jet set radio back it was so much fun when I had it on the Dreamcast but I'm going to guess that it will be a sequel to alien isolation
F-zero is a n much need of an update. JSR got a hd rerelease. Outrun has had it but that's gone to licensing issues . Probably will never happen
Dream scenario would be Sonic Adventure 3 or a new Jet Set Radio. But I'm just excited for them to make a big new announcement.
