Nioh 2 is quietly creeping up on us with a confirmed release window of early 2020. It'll have to go up against heavy hitters such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Final Fantasy VII Remake, but we reckon the follow-up to Team Ninja's 2017 samurai success can calve out its own audience. And to make that wait a little bit easier, an open beta will give you access to a slice of the action this November.
Starting on 1st November and running through to the tenth, Nioh 2 will take us to the Dark Realm where we'll be able to sample a new setting, gritty and brutal combat, and all manner of boss fights. While PlayStation's official Twitter account doesn't confirm it, we assume you won't need to pre-order the game to gain access. That's what the wording would suggest, anyway.

I'll give it a go. I loved Nioh, although admittedly I haven't finished it yet. The sheer amount of gear options and spirit choices make for endless play throughs.
Again, this is the kind of pre-release support/community engagement that is more likely to have me pre-order.

Hell yes! Nioh is one of the best games in ages. Love the combination of loot and souls-like play. I clocked about 500 hours and didn’t even complete all the end game content!
Man nioh is ridiculously good. I remember how many hours I put into the first game's betas helping people then getting the Platinum trophy for the game. I can't wait to do it all over with this. But jeez November is so far away why even bother announcing it now?

Yes! So happy they're doing this for Nioh 2. This and Ghost of Tsushima are My most anticipated games right now. I can't wait to play the beta!
@sikthvash it kinda is for a beta. That's the kinda thing you announce when you can start downloading like 1 or 2 weeks from announcement, not 1 month and a half lol. This is going to be dreadfully long wait.
