Sony’s been reluctant to manufacture its own response to the excellent Xbox Elite controller, but fortunately French manufacturer Nacon has stepped up to the task. Having released a handful of officially licensed PlayStation 4 controllers to date, the organisation has followed up this week with its Nacon Revolution Pro Controller 3 – a device it’s describing as the “new standard for wired controllers designed for competitive gaming”. We’ve got one of these and it’s nice; keep your eyes peeled for a review.
Among the Nacon Revolution Pro Controller 3’s features are “asymmetrical analogue sticks, wider action buttons and triggers, and two weight compartments for a truly personalised experience”. We visited Nacon in Lille last week to get a little insight into how it builds its DualShock 4 alternatives, and we’ll have a full feature expanding on all that we learned imminently.

Is it too much to ask for a pro/elite controller with the sticks in the right place?
@ankehuber Like Burglar King, have it your way:

@ankehuber More on this soon.
@Turismo4GT 🅸🆂 it good tho?
jesus, another nacon crap controller with the sticks in the wrong place. these guys dont give up easily.
I'm with the others on here. I want the sticks in the correct place. Why does elite have to mean lopsided?
@Ridwaano According to reviews, it's supposed to be one of the best, if not the best Pro controllers for PS4 and a quality piece of kit. The downside is the price; at $200 that's kind of a hard ask for me when it costs almost as much as the console itself. Could be worth it if you're really into the modular functionality, and if it's compatible with the PS5 when it comes out.
@Turismo4GT that looks really nicely made.
sticks in the right place:

I bought the latest nacon revolution a few months ago and immediately sold it. I just didn't like it, especially the d pad. Lost about 15 quid so wasn't a total disaster.
I think It was the revolution unlimited.
@Ridwaano the Astro controller is amazing! One of the best feeling controllers I've ever used well worth the money!
Sticks in the wrong place stop forcing this Xbox layout. 😩👎
Ugh, I can't stand asymmetrical sticks. They're frickin stupid.
Another go at making an xbox one controller for PS4 gamers why don't they just make xbox one controllers compatible with a patch like cross play.
I use a dongle from brook to use xbox one controllers on PS4 the elite 2 xbox one controller looks amazing with half trigger locks and paddles and grips up the wazoo.
Can definitely recommend the Scuf Impact that @leucocyte linked to. They use genuine DS4 parts built into custom cases, really good controllers. Bought one last year as a Christmas gift to myself. I got proper DS4 sticks in mine, great bit of kit.
I will pay double the price of a DS4 for an improved version of the DS4. If:
X 3 battery life
Symmetrical stick placement.
Share and option buttons are larger and protrude more
Smaller touch pad = room for larger share and option buttons
Sticks THAT DON'T DRIFT !
Designed for easy opening to clean and easy replacement of parts.
I've got the original Nacon Revolution controller and I really like the layout. It's probably the best pad I've ever used. Honestly don't get the problem with the asymmetrical sticks. They're comfy!
@Turismo4GT $200?! No thank you.
I have 2 dualshock 4s that I have installed paddles on by myself. A company called extremerate sells a kit called the dawn remap kit. I have installed a few in friends controllers too. I can't play without them now. I got them from Amazon. They are pretty easy to put in, first one took about half an hour, takes about 15 minutes now.
@NoCode23 That options button is the worst thing about the DS4.
They keep trying to make XBOX controller happen on PS4. Stop moving the sticks!
These third-party controllers never look as sleek or comfortable as the real thing.
Also, Xbox/Nintendo-style stick layout. Eww.
