Yakuza: Like a Dragon's latest trailer ended with a bit of a surprise, didn't it? Despite concluding his story arc in Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, former protagonist Kazuma Kiryu returns in the turn-based seventh iteration. We don't expect him to play too much of a major role in the narrative, but then he's going to be joined by even more familiar faces from the franchise's past.
As explained in the latest Sega Nama livestream and reported by Siliconera, fan-favourite Goro Majima will also be making his comeback. Alongside him, Taiga Saejima of Yakuza 4 and Yakuza 5 fame and Daigo Dojima join the line-up of returning characters. Dojima has appeared in every single main entry in the Yakuza franchise except for the original Yakuza: Kiwami.
With an all-new protagonist, Yakuza: Like a Dragon was seemingly pitched as a clean break for the series, but it looks like faces of old are still lingering in the shadows. Are you happy about the game bringing back so many established characters? Or were you hoping for a completely new cast, similar to Judgment? Let us know in the comments below.

MAJIMA SO IāM EXTRA SOLD
It's nice to see characters returning ā especially since the characters in Yakuza are so great ā but I do hope the cameos are kept to a minimum. I enjoyed seeing Kiryu in the last trailer, but part of me thinks it's time to let go. Yakuza 6 was supposed to be his big send off, yet here he is again.
I'm a bit torn on the whole thing, even if it is fun seeing familiar faces.
I'm always happy to see them, but why are they spoiling the surprises?
I had a feeling we would at least see Majima and some of the other aforementioned characters make a slight cameo in 7, but I am surprised Kiryu is in the game. Guess we'll see how much they're in the game, and how they impact the story, in the future.
I thought this was supposed to be a new story? I would've preferred they just stick with Judgment. Yakuza should've taken a good long rest.
As much as I love seeing both Kiryu and Majima-san, I think it's time to let them go for the better. I really wanted this title to be a whole new ride, which I know it is, but again, not so cool.
Majima makes more sense than Kiryu. So do the others since they all live in the city too. Then again, Kiryu does tend to get pulled back in preeeeeetty easily/often.
OoOo, what if he can join the party? That'd be wild.
