Seriously, when is someone going to take this project out back and get rid of it for good? The Uncharted movie is never, ever going to hit theatres -- proven by the fact that it has just lost its sixth director. Yes, you read that correctly, six directors! Madness.
Deadline reports that Travis Knight has left production of the video game adaptation as it now clashes with other movies, including a sequel to Bumblebee, that he is currently working on. The film itself has been pushed from a late 2020 launch as Sony now searches for a seventh director to helm the project, but Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg are said to still be attached.
Seriously though, this is all going to be in vain. The Uncharted movie is never going to come out, is it? This is quite clearly a doomed project that Sony needs to put a bullet in sooner rather than later. Do you think Uncharted will ever see the light of day? Hold off on pre-ordering tickets in the comments below.

Why Mark Wahlberg? Tom Holland I understand, and honestly am pretty happy with overall - but Wahlberg seems to be an interesting pick idk.
Place your bets here, place your bets here! Who’s next? Will it be cancelled? When will it release? First trailer? Place your bets here!
Well, you know what they say... 7th times the charm, lucky number 7 and all that jazz...
Seriously though, the Uncharted game franchise may have joined the likes of Pong and E.T. in that great gaming museum in the sky before this film ever gets made.
Chop chop, boys. Tom Holland may look young now, but he'll be acting grandpa roles if you don't do something about this, like just accept the games are good enough.
Without Nathan Fillion as Nate there's literally no point in making it
How difficult is it to make a three hour video?
Better off coming up with something original for the screen, to date Scott pilgrim was the best video game movie and it's based on comics!
Maybe they'll wait for James Gunn to finish doing Suicide Squad 2 to finish Guardians of the Galaxy 3 to direct it years from now.
@Stragen8 Marky Mark is getting up there in years, him and Holland can pull this scene off.
Kojima wants to make movies. He could def give it a "temple of doom" kinda vibe. Or office space this trash lol
Sony just need to cancel this, isn't going to happen, never.
It’ll come out eventually - if they keep on like this, it’s inevitable. The only way it won’t come out is if they cancel it, funnily enough.
Cancel this darn thing.
Get rid of Tom Holland, please. I'd rather have Markey-Mark as Nathan Drake again.
I used to be excited for the movie but seeing directors jumping out and new ones jumping in, only for the cycle to repeat itself, I lost interest. Just cancel it already. Don't let it suffer more.
@OscarHTX “it’s never coming out, so cancel it!”
Paradox?
another one bites, another one bites, another one bites the dust!
Jeez, Tom Holland will be the same age as Mark Walhberg by the time this movie gets made.
well with PlayStation establishing their own production studio for film and television within Sony Pictures if i'm right, this film will probably happen at some point
It's a Sony (movie). What else is new? Hotel Transylvania went through six directors before happening, too.
Please don’t make this! It’s gonna be the first terrible thing about Uncharted
I’ve got nothing to say about this article but I really like this colour scheme. Would love this as an option for the whole website.
First off, don't make this about young Drake. Get Tom Holland out of there. He's a great actor, but not a good fit for Drake.
Has there been any progress?
