While there’s no indication of which console sold the best this Black Friday, we do know courtesy of Games Industry data that the PlayStation 4 moved the most software in the UK. According to the site, almost 500,000 games were sold for Sony’s platform over the past week, which is an impressive result – even if it is technically down 37 per cent year-over-year.
For comparison, the Xbox One managed to sell 413,112 games, while the Nintendo Switch shifted 361,967 games. To be fair, these are quite competitive numbers, and it’s clear from Sea of Thieves’ placement in the latest UK sales charts that Microsoft’s Xbox One hardware bundles seriously moved the needle for the Redmond firm.
Of course, it’s worth remembering that FIFA 20 was the title included in Sony’s flagship bundle, and the annually released soccer simulation comfortably topped the charts in the Britain last week. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – the other high profile, PlayStation promoted title – finished in second. So probably not the best Black Friday for the Japanese giant, but not a bad one.

Let me find my surprised face.
Next year will be interesting. I am sure both Sony and Microsoft will be releasing their next-gen consoles before Black Friday 2020.
Though, given that Sony has an almost complete hold on the UK market, I am sure you could copy/paste this headline next year (well, except change that 4 to a 5).
PS4 is number one for games right now, of course they will!!!! I'm thinking that the Switch sold the most consoles though, seems that's what people were searching for. I'm hoping that Sony's VR sold good and gave more people for it. What I can't wait for, is to see what will happen in 2020 when Sony and Microsoft push their next consoles out...going to be some really good deals then on the PS4 and XBONE.
SONY is third party publishers best friend 😎
Well the Switch variants were both placed significantly higher on Amazons best sellers lists than the PS4 so I'd imagine in the UK at least that came out on top
-1 for using the word soccer there!
Hopefully Shenmue 3 shifted some digital copies as the physical sales were quite disastrous so far apparently.
Switch games still priced high. Might still get Spiderman.
@ShaiHulud
Unlikely. Its already on sale online and in my local store only a few were ordered this past week and they are still there.
