Dreams is already an incredible product on PlayStation 4, but through backwards compatibility, bringing your creations to life on PlayStation 5 is going to be even easier. Sure, there's the high-speed SSD to improve load times and adaptive triggers that will emulate the tension upon a bow and arrow. However, it's the microphone which could be the biggest game-changer.
Currently, the Media Molecule developed title allows you to record audio through any microphone compatible with PS4. Getting your hands on one of those for a decent price isn't a tough task whatsoever but through the implementation of the PS5 DualSense controller's built-in microphone, the Japanese giant has cut out the middle man. If you want to grab a quick recording of your voice, sound effect, or even an instrument, simply hold the pad up to the audio source and you'll have the sound in your creation in the space of seconds.
Gone are the times when you've forgotten where you last put your Rock Band 4 microphone or trying to find the flimsy mic which came with the console itself. Nobody actually uses that thing, right? With PS5, the microphone is built into the controller you're already using. Great stuff, Sony.

So Dreams is on PS5?
@Arugula Glad to hear you’re enjoying the content!
@DonJorginho Look, we appreciate feedback, but please don't target our writers with pointless comments like this. It's a fine line between making a joke and adding nothing of worth to a comments section.
If you have a genuine complaint, please use the site's contact form.
I'd rather 20 more articles about DualSense then a million guide articles clogging up the front page tbh.
I always thought the new psvr should be bundled with ps5 so that it becomes part of the norm. And now im thinking dreams should be as well. Yeah yeah the price, i know but itd be cool to have the ENTIRE PS community on the boat, ya know.
On a side note sony need to revive home as psHomeVR!!
'However, it's the microphone which could be the biggest game-changer.'
Oh come on! 🤦♂️
You guys at Pushsquare seem very obsess with the daulsense controller you guys write a article or more about it a day.
@ShogunRok Got it mate, sorry if anything came off too personal 👍
I think there's still a few pints left in this cow
@jay767 To be fair when they have to cover everything PlayStation but barely any PS5 info over the last few months so as soon as something like this drops it's there opportunity to put up a lot of articles that draw traffic. Once PS5 games and stuff gets revealed, the DualSense articles will be a drop in the ocean.
@DonJorginho All good!
@AdamNovice On the topic of guides, we've actually got a new system that means there shouldn't be quite as many guides on the home page from now on. Hopefully that helps!
another "awful" article
Just so everyone is aware Dreams has actually cut the overall recording time to 15 seconds to stop creators straight up copying work. As you can imagine, sound is way easier to copy compared to graphics.
@ShogunRok all im doing atm is sitting at home. Pls write as many articles about anything just so we have something to read and think about.
Dream in Dreams all you want but in reality the mic is spying on you.
@Powerpellet I hope your not serious. If your actually more worried about a controller that has a mic to make gaming with others a little quicker and easier over your smartphones that are actually always taking data and selling to companies so that they can create target ads just for you and also if you use your phone (the thing you paid for and own) and look up anything sketchy or talk about certain stuff the NSA will really be listening to you and taking video recording of everything around you. Why do you think they switched to the unmountable batteries? Can't take it out so we can save battery while camping or in a survival scenario where you'd want to only use the phone when you absolutely have to as to save every drop of juice. But no. Console makers are just making online gaming a little easier so we can quickly chat with friends without having to dig for an headset that way you can engage in convo then if you need the headset you can simply plug one in as your still talking through the controller. Besides,it has one mute button on the controller and I'm sure you can permanently mute it in the settings of the PS5 like you can in the PS4. Also the PlayStation camera doesn't stay on all the time nor does it's microphones. I like having new technology in gaming. Even if it doesn't always add much to gaming or make much sense, at least they take a shot and see what works.
They might as well rename Dreams to “Copyright Strike: The Game”
@Bailey8two
First, yes Im serious. I value my privacy and havent given up like most. I read your comment a couple of times but I'm struggling to understand the direction of your point. The same reason they wont let you change out the phone batteries is the same as a built in mic. For me my value of discretion overrides someone else's desire to record my behaviors.
