Poll: Did You Buy The Last of Us 2?

No. It's not on my radar, to be honest.

I cheated a little and voted “I bought it” because I know my kids bought it for me for Father’s Day. I can’t wait to play it, and I have amazing kids. I get TLOU 2 instead of a tie!

I pre-ordered it, first game i've pre-ordered (possibly) this generation and thank god i did because streamers and reviewers of the game on twitter seem to have no care in the world about giving away too much information and spoiling moments.
I cant help but think if i didnt buy it now id know everything about it by the end of month, without even playing it.

Yep. I've played 7 minutes of it. 0/10.

Holding out on this one, seems like between all the hype and all the hate it will be at least a month before people start talking about it rationally and I can decide whether to buy it, borrow it, or wait for the 4k PS5 version.

Where's the option of, "I want to play it but my PS4 fan is so loud I'm afraid it'll ruin the experience"?

I had it pre-ordered but cancelled it due to amazons inability to deliver a preordered game on release day So I got it at my local retailer one day earlier xD

Been playing most of the day and as a gamer for 34 years, all i can say is wow. I just can't believe what has been achieved here on the hardware its running on. The facial animation on the characters is astounding. This also has to be some of the best water shaders ive ever seen in a game. All what ive seen today has been simply breath taking and i know ive not even started to get into this game yet. On a side note, its also made me jump out of my skin twice already and a game hasn't done that in many years 😂😂👍🏻 Love it.

Yeah had it pre-ordered a couple weeks back. Had a cheeky got at midnight and been playing it on and off today. Had my first 'this is awesome' moment just now. Great stuff so far.

I'm glad I did. At long last finally a competitor for RDRII's horses in terms of realism. Both games are pretty similar in graphics art style.

I brought it yesterday and downloaded yesterday also, been playing from this morning until the afternoon. Have to agree the graphics are amazing, and the animation's.

I pre-ordered a while back from The Game Collection. They promptly posted it first class yesterday morning but Royal Mail have decided first class is 2 days for me it seems. Oh well, hopefully it gets here fairly early tomorrow.

Yep, normally very patient but the last one is a masterpiece. The Mrs put the disc in so the day 1 patch installed, just waiting for my daughter to go to bed and its time to get started!!

I have such a big backlog (includingTLOU1 DLC) that I will just wait until a big price drop (and news about how Sony will handle any possible improvements for this and GoT on PS5, don’t want to buy this just to see a paid-for definitive PS5 edition announced in January or February.)

Had it pre ordered for delivery and it arrived at 9am!! DPD are in the good books now! About 4 hours in and i am not disappointed, its fantastic! Loving the little easter eggs as well.

Shall get it at a later date for sure. Personally I'm not the biggest fan of Naughty Dog (blasphemy here I know). So I tend to play the game once and then only maybe come back to them a few years later. Shall definitely pick it up at one point mind you.

Not for me. The first one lost me about the 8-10 hours mark and ive tried numerous time to play it over again. Will wait for GoT. Much more my style of game.
I may however watch someone go through it on youtube sometime.

Yep but for some reason it keeps failing to install. Only time I've had this on PS4 (or on anything, actually). I have 366GB free. I've restarted and it doesn't help.

Had it pre ordered. I'm a few hours in and 😲 I won't say anymore other than seriously, buy and play this game asap guys.

Unfortunately, this is the only gripe I have with the game. My PRO is louder than ever. I can sometimes hear it with my headphones on. It's bearable, but that's not saying much.

I buy my games digital because I game share with a buddy so my wife just let me scratch the codes off the two fifty dollar the psn cards to preorder the game before she wraps them for me to open on Sunday. My kids are 2 1/2 and 15 months so they’re not going to know anything is amiss with the cards already being scratched when I open them 😂. Will be harder to do when they’re older lol.

Edit: and yes I’m having a great weekend and I am spending every second I can of it playing. Not nearly as much as I’d like to 😂. Enjoy it when you get it it’s superb so far!

No, though I think it does look like a remarkably well crafted game. I'm just playing video games more for a bit of escapism at the moment. I'm replaying Saits Row 4 as was on sale, was enjoying Snow Runner (before the recent patch ruined the graphics on base PS4...). I thought the first game was great, will intended to play this one down the line.

May get it at some point. But then again I may not because I’m sick of Naughty Dog’s hypocrisy and bs. I can’t explain the hypocrisy without giving away spoilers.

I guess it's worth playing if you're a fan of ND or the franchise, but I will try to get a PS5 around Christmas and replay this masterpiece in quiet (hopefully).

@MarcG420 Fantastic to hear the game is good so far! And remember-as your kids get a little older, gaming is a fantastic way to bond/spend quality time. My kids had great fun destroying their Dad at Mario Kart all yesterday evening, for example.

You don't have to buy this game but the problem lies with people giving low reviews when they haven't t even played it nor intend to.

If it's not for you then fine (and for the record whilst I enjoyed the first one I didn't love it as much as others did) but is it really deserving of this much animosity?

I don't think so and two hours or so in I think it's absolutely sensational. I'm a Spurs fan but I think I'd rather be playing this game then watching them later tonight!

No. I'm just not a big fan of post-apocalyptic survival games in general.

Haven't got it yet, mainly because I'm super busy and I want to see what Sony's PS5 plans are for TLoU2 and Ghost of Tsushima before taking the plunge. I'll get both, and probably won't want for GoT.

Definitely will get it, as I love Naughty Dog. I did however buy The Last of Us Remastered for $10, as I wanted to play the PS4 version. And I forgot most of the story as it's been many years.

@Incarna I have a similar policy, but my budget is a maximum of £30 per game. And to be honest, I haven’t paid over £20 for a game in a couple years.

It means I will be waiting until next year to play this, but money is tight.

I would argue that there are games worth more money though. I have put 1,000+ hours into some games (much more in World of Warcraft and the like) so paying £45 for 1,000 hours is a lot cheaper than paying £10 for 20 hours.

I had it pre-ordered since last year. I've seen the scene that everyone seemed so upset about and yeah, my heart sank, but I'm still playing. It's good so far.

However everywhere on the internet right now seems to be celebrating the low user scores. Most of which are even saying "these are the TRUE and HONEST reviews".
I feel sad for those people. Especially when the obvious ones get removed in a few days time.

Since they’re asking I’ve got to say no. The first game ended perfectly. There’s no way part 2 can improve on it.

I do hope this is the last one, I don't want to see a sequel, prequel or side story. I looked at the spoilers but I still bought it and will play it and platinum it. However I am doing it with the expectation that we will never see anything related to TLOU again.

I hope Naughty Dog moves on from these type of games and does something else. It could be fps, racing, platformer, pure horror... anything that isn't this formula that started with Uncharted.

I have zero interest in "The Last of Us" series. Naughty Dog is the most overrated developer in the history of gaming

Ehhh, I think playing Last of Us was a good experience, but I didn't enjoy the gameplay enough to make me care for another game with the same sort of gameplay. Also, I really did not like the ending to the first one (I felt like it made the journey worthless), so the story is not a draw for me. To be fair, I got the game free with my PS4 ages ago, so I guess the problem also is I don't feel like it is worth the launch price.

...Maybe when the game is cheaper I'll have another think about it.

There was no 'i wait for the ps5 remaster' choice...but hey i think most games i played from start to end were by ND or Nintendo. Both revolutionized gaming in their own ways. So i got high hopes for it...im just afraid its too grim, i thought TLOU was already a bit over the edge at times...

Yes, I preordered it right after finishing the first one last weekend and went through Left Behind midweek. Played 2 hours last night to get the tutorial parts out of the way. Going to try to see if I can possibly finish it this weekend because I can't really open Youtube without the suggestions hinting at things.

So far, this game is absolutely incredible. The level of depth and detail to the characters and world is phenomenal. The emotional beats are all there, too, with top notch writing and acting to boot. The banter between characters (a wonderful Naughty Dog trait) is also fantastic. I'm seriously blown away by this game, and it's somehow surpassing the first one which I thought would be an impossible feat.

Hi there fellow gamers. But of course I bought it. I had it pre-ordered the moment I could. Played 6 hours and 40 something minutes and I´m blown away. Naughty Dog team has done it again. The characters, the animations, the world they envisioned it is so beautiful and gnarly. And that oppening hours though...... man. oh man. BRUTAL. Currently fighting a bunch of clickers in a dark place. Can´t wait to go back at it again. Cheers and happy gaming to us all

I remember coming here, mostly as a lurker to be honest, to share a mutual enjoyment of videogames, now the comments are full of such negativity.

My preorder came this morning so I was faced with working from home knowing it was sat on my ps4 hardrive, 4pm couldnt come quickly enough for me. 4 hours in and I am frankly staggered that something this dazzling is possible from this generation of consoles.

I am also dying for my pals to play so I can discuss it with someone.

I’m still waiting for the 4 GB update to be finished my hamster in a wheel Internet keeps taking a break. But it won’t be long!

My oldest would probably be ok playing TLOU. But my youngest is why Dad usually only fires up the PS4 after 9pm. My little son plays Dreams and some Lego games on the PS4-everything else is off limits until he is older!

I cancelled my preorder on the collectors edition today. I decided to spoil myself to the "scene" and the ending. I adamantly loved the first game, this seems like a slap on the face. I'm glad they leaked part of the game. Saved me money.

Massive fan of first game so this was at the top of my list a couple of months ago, but after familiarising myself with the leaks (I can't resist spoilers) and discovering that they were most likely true, I realised the sequel wasn't something I ever wanna play; Skill Up's honest and fair review (imho) the other week essentially confirmed all the stuff which had put me off to be true and listed more besides. However, I'm very happy for all those on here who have a great time playing this game over the next few weeks or so 😃 The sequel's just not for me.

I just finished days gone before this and after playing a few hours I am absolutely amazed. I mean this game makes days gone look like a ps2 game and I thought that game looked and played great. The little details are amazing. Like when ellie tunes the guitar. The tuning head actually turns and you see the string tighten. I mean who does that lol. Superb

I preordered it, I saw the leaks but decided that it was best for me to still play it myself and make up my own mind. I've seen it all in context and most of the leaks are confirmed true but it's written well IMO and I haven't been disappointed one bit.

I had it pre-ordered on the PS store, played around 5 hours. I'm enjoying it so far, I'd give it an 8/10 at this point. The controls & gameplay are a bit stiff & the characters aren't grabbing me yet. But still decent, I won't be too judgemental until I've finished it though.

This is a level or two.above, in the same league as Red Dead Redemption 2. Indeed it has a real feel of a Western about it.

One thing Days Gone does have on TLoU 2 is the bike. By the end mine looked like something out of Mad Max!

Of course, had it pre-ordered since Gamestop started taking them. Don't care for the story so far but the gameplay is excellent and wow, what a looker. I can't imagine there will be many PS5 games, at least early on, that impress me much more visually than this game has and I'm still using a 1080p, non-HDR tv. Very impressive but two companies in this industry that nail visuals every time are Naughty Dog and Guerrilla.

What is the point of the second disc if it is not used to install, if the game is seeing it when playing how is the digital.version same size?

There's depictions of sex in this game, when will sony be censoring this game like the recently released terminator game? Or Aokana? Or Omega labrynth life? Or mary shelter 2? Soon right? They will censor soon right?

I've had mine pre-ordered for a while, got it delivered to a local convenience store and missed getting there before they shut.

I'll pick it up tomorrow, despite the stories I'm still hyped for the game, especially given the mechanics that Naughty Dog have out into the game.
Got Ghost of Tsushima pre-ordered too, both games look awesome, I can't wait to play both.

@Col_McCafferty I actually really enjoyed days gone. I am one trophy away from the platinum but its definitely a step below this. It's also a different game. Where as in that game I feel like I can take a horde on with ease. This game makes me want to rather sneak around and save ammo

I've had it on pre-order and my copy will sit on my shelf for a while since there's some other games that are higher priority on my list.

I was planning on buying it later on, but now I'm not so sure. From what I understand, the game's story seems almost completely detached from the first game, and botches many potential avenues the first game set up (both story and gameplay wise) in favour of a simple revenge story, to the point where I have to wonder why this sequel was made in the first place.
I might still end up getting it later, when the price has dropped a bit, but for now, I can't say that's a certainty.

Where is the I'll buy used to teach someone not to try and preach to me button? For someone who advocates peace and love he makes a games basically saying we are just vengeful pricks. I for one believe people can change but hey who am I. Oh I'm the guy saying you won't see any of my money for this type of game thats right. I did pick it up. I played about 12 hours of it so far and wow amazing. I have not played a game with so much emotions and it is great. The first game was definitely one of my favorite games but this games takes everything about tlou and adds to it. The characters, the graphics and the game play. The world is unbelievably detailed. Thank you naughty dog for not a game but an experience. This is definitely game of the year.

No, just got a Switch recently and besides that I had also been burning through the Dark Souls trilogy again. I'm also not sure that the original ever even needed a sequel to begin with. It kind of ended perfectly. That being said, I will buy it eventually, assuming we see something of at least a ten or fifteen pound price drop.

Played 2 hours on a friends console. Looks amazing but I got bored and went on a different game. I don't think I'll be buying it anytime soon.

@keihtg I almost always use headphones while playing and am shocked, when I take them off and realize just how much noise the system makes. So, my advice is, try using headphones. 😉

I cancelled my collector's edition preorder after the leaks emerged. After watching and reading a bunch of reviews I don't regret that decision. The story would have pissed me off way too much. I'm not paying for that

I pre ordered the last of us console for 2 reasons I would have got the game and wanted to get a better experience so got the ps4 pro the other reason I can't wait to play ghost of tsushima and want to play this the best i will be able to and that's on the ps4 pro I would recommend last of us 2 but if you can only get one game I would go for ghost of tsushima I'm not sure I'll get anything else until ps5 comes out then start from there
