We assume it's just been pushed out a bit early and a full announcement is incoming very shortly.

@thefirst If you think they’ve done more harm, you haven’t been paying attention to all the changes being put in place and slaver statues being removed. More good has been done in a week of unrest than 30 years of voting. Anyway, PS5 should be finally good news this year.

@thefirst Anybody who’s been to Bristol knows who that guy is, I even know who he is. I also live in Glasgow where our streets are named after slave traders, we have statues of them and there’s an area called Merchant City where all the slavers lived. Any UK city linked to shipbuilding or with docks is intrinsically tied to the slave trade, it built our cities and paved our roads. Teach it in schools or put the statues in museums alongside stories of the many victims, don’t celebrate the guys as heroes. Our protests were entirely peaceful except London, where media spun a police officer riding his horse into traffic lights as him being attacked by protestors. Read into that what you will.

Now that the event is confirmed for June 11, I wanted to add that this pre-taped program will be broadcast at 1080p and 30 frames per second. This eased the show’s production process during a time when many of our team and developers are working from home. The games you’ll see on Thursday will look even better when you play them on PS5 with a 4K TV, as you’d expect.

It’s also best if you watch while wearing headphones, if you can — there’s some cool audio work in the show, and it might be harder to appreciate if it’s pumped through your phone or laptop speakers.

Have they said it's literally games reveals (gameplay or just trailers?) or whether it's full ps5 reveal etc? They seem to make these "indefinite" delays not very long don't they. Ready for the internet to explode though.

EDIT: People commenting "Racism over", please tell me you're joking. They delayed the stream during the fever pitch as people were solely concentrated on that. They stood back, as did every company, out of respect (and more so out of business sense) while this was all new and raw. This will be an ongoing thing for a long time (and has been already for years and years), but businesses need to run, and other aspects of the world we live in need to continue. Coronavirus has already had a devestating impact on the economy, so businesses need to get back to normality sooner rather than later. As sad as it may sound, money has the final say.

If it looks good in 1080p, it'll look even better in 4K. Less stressful production process in a time when they don't have the manpower, and when everything is back to normal, they can reupload in a much higher resolution. That's more than reasonable.

I remember getting so excited for the 360 when I only had a tiny CRT TV, and couldn't read a damn word on Dead Rising. Didn't mean anything to me, I just wanted a new console!

@AdamNovice The statement from Sid Shuman (which JJ2 shared in his post above) on the PS Blog says it is a pre-taped program and not a live broadcast. It is more to do with the production process then giving everyone viewing a decent bit rate.

@AdamNovice Yeah the quality was too rough for me on the Ghosts SoP so i just watched it later, but this sounds a bit different and was produced in 1080p and 30fps, and not in 4k like the Ghosts SoP. I mean they could upscale it but I've never heard of that for something like this.

Btw I pray to GOD that Demon Souls remake isn't the last game they show to hype the crowd...because I don't care how much I like the game or YOU all like the game, thing is if you get that excited (to end the conference with it) for a remaster of a game that wasn't even released long ago you are crazy!

@AFCC exactly this. The fact it's also so heavily rumoured it's not even as a surprise. It'd be a nice touch to have on the PS5, but why would I (or anyone) specifically buy a new console for a decade old game remaster? Hopefully if it is announced it'll be alongside other cooler things. The souls games have their fans but I definitely want something new to play this Christmas

Also it's pretty obvious that Dark Souls was way more popular than Demon Souls...it's not like this remake will be as good in terms of upgrade as the FF7 one was!

Man last week when they announced this it kinda got me excited, now not so much. I just feel kinda meh now.

I wasn't sure whether they would show the box or not, but now I'm thinking they have to: if they're starting to ramp up production then it's only a matter of time before the design leaks. They don't want another PS4 Slim 'pre-reveal'...

Got to give it to the man, he kept great business records so we know exactly how despicable he was. So now you know why it was so fitting his statue was tossed into the sea. Should have been removed decades ago. I'm White English who can trace my ancestry back a 1000 years on this little island and the statue disgusted me. Can't imagine how my Caribbean country men felt when they walked past it. silence is compliance. Black lives matter!

Yes I think it makes sense to show the UI, and how things work, then show games, and games and then possibly at the end or on psblog to reveal the console.

I believe that leak from the june Playstation magazine didn't show any signs of Demon souls remastered. To say more, no mention about PS5 release of Cyberpunk..
Definitely looking forward to this reveal event, but not hoping to find out much from it.
Also, I believe we won't have full console reveal any time sooner than august.

I assume 1080p/30 is easier for assembling a unified video to stream. I hope that the individual trailers will be on YouTube in 4k (or whatever) soon after the stream finishes.

@Morzy The actual protest at Glasgow Green was great, people were distancing and the police kept their distance. The mob at George Square were a different matter and honestly were only there for a carry on with their white faces and bottles of Buckie, making it unlikely they were even linked to any sort of BLM affiliation. As you well know, police here are used to ‘large gatherings’ every July and I can tell you first hand that it was way less rowdy than ‘Boynefest’ is every year.

@nessisonett I don't know your agenda here (I've an idea tho), there was lots of vandalism and no social distancing. During a Pandemic that mostly affects black/ethnic groups? If this was a protest for anything else it wouldn't have been allowed and celebrated within the media, which it has been. Also get facts correct, it was a FEMALE officer that is now dealing with a broken collar bone/ribs, punctured lung. But spin it and how you and the media wants eh. Mon the PS5 hopefully no more set backs

@Morzy Yeah sorry for having an agenda of hating racial inequality and police brutality mate, it’s only the systemic oppression of people based on the colour of their skin. Didn’t know it was a female officer but it changes literally nothing about the story to be honest. I’m not sure how marches celebrating the massacre of Catholics are allowed every year but protesting systemic racism is apparently too far? It’s a lot less bloody noisy for one thing. And then there were the ones painting swastikas in the city centre after the Brexit vote. Even the independence marches were rowdier than those protests over the weekend and they were relatively tame considering the subject matter. Literally just Google anything about the protests if you don’t believe my word, if the Sun, Scotsman and Daily Record all agree on something then it’s pretty accurate. Just wait till July next year and we’ll see real violence. Pent up tension after this year’s was cancelled and (probably, unless Morelos can live up to his potential) after 10 in a row? It’ll be carnage on both sides that I am staying well away from.

However, we live in a civilized, democratic society, not a backwashed, prehistoric "mob rules" dystopia. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable in a modern society.

Campaign to remove it, get a petition going, sure. 100%. I think it should be removed, and glad it has (although it will likely be recovered and end up in a historical museum somewhere - which is where it belongs in the first place).Whilst Colston was indeed a slave trader, during the time he was alive, a lot of people were, as it was unfortunately (at the time) the status quo. There are things that are currently acceptable in our modern day, that will almost certainly be looked at abhorrently by our future kin, aghast at the barbaric injustices of our basic neolithic practices. But at this time, it would be considered civilized.

I digress, as my point is that, the actions taken are not justified. You do not right one wrong, by creating another one.

I'm all for quick, affirmative action, but, realistically, these things don't happen in a matter of hours. They have to go through due process. Taking the process into your own hands is not the right way to do things. If the answer you're providing is just do whatever you please, and to hell with the system, this is what brings about complete anarchy. No, if we want to be a civilized nation, and not send ourselves back to the dark ages, we take the necessary democratic process, and resolve the matter that way. Not vandalizing public property, vigilante style.

@Col_McCafferty Sure, but I would still like to point out that whilst there have been attempts to remove the statue previously, they were not unanimous votes amongst the society that held the votes. At the time before the statue was vandalized, they were in the process of extending the vote out to a larger portion of the society, as the mayor did not have a clear cut case at the time. I have no doubt that they would of reached a consensus of agreement, as the voices for the removal had slowly been gathering over time since 1990. Change doesn't happen all at once, but if it's meant to happen, and its for the good of society it will, in due course. Anyway, thats the last thing I have to say on the matter. Toodles.

You do know people were throwing stuff at the officers and horses right? The videos are all over Twitter of it. They were mindlessly abusing animals. I'm sorry that is not protesting that is thuggery and animal abuse. So no spin by the media there. If anything the media hide the true violence.

Wish they would just make these all night events. It's at 4 PM where I'm at and I probably won't be back until 6 or 7. Ah well, no big deal. I'll just skim through the stream and watch all those 4K trailers as they pop up.
