If you thought we had come out the other side of delays related to COVID-19, you might want to think again. Mafia: Definitive Edition, which was originally scheduled to launch next month, has been delayed to 25th September 2020. Developer Hangar 13 cites the ongoing coronavirus pandemic as the reason why, but it hopes to make up for the delay with an extended look at the remake on 22nd July.
Taking to Twitter, the studio said: "Though we'd originally planned to release the game one month earlier on 28th August, finalizing everything in time for that launch date has become increasingly challenging due to the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic, and the last thing we want to do is compromise the quality of the experience." Hangar 13 goes on to state that it is committed to creating a worthy remake of the 2002 classic with many members of the team credited with working on the original title.
Are you willing to wait another month for Mafia: Definitive Edition, or are there other games releasing around that time which are of a higher priority to you? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

We dont even have a gameplay trailer a month before a release. How could this game be anywhere near being finished?
Hmm. Somehow I doubt a month is long enough here.
I'm happy for them to delay it til whenever as long as they get it right.
Has mafia 2 been patched yet? Was going to get it but heard there was a lot of bugs in the game so waiting untill it gets patched.
"We need extra time to make sure the login to your 2K account remains active onscreen at ALL times...& general extra time to polish those other bugs & make them just randomly appear!"
@Daleaf They announced they were working on fixing all of the bugs and glitches, but that's the last thing I heard about it.
Am I willing to wait? Well, I want to play it, so I haven't really got a choice, have I? Now I just hope they'll have a PS5 patch ready too.
Look, Mafia 3 is still a broken pile of crap. With glitched trophies galore and game ending bugs. At this point I think it would be fair to say you shouldn't touch any Mafia games, or games made by Hanger 13 with a barge pole. I have literally never played any game with as many bugs as Mafia 3. It quite frankly should have been the death knell for a God awful developer.
@KidBoruto cheers mate, probably wait a bit till after one comes out and see how that goes, hopefully they will sort all the bugs out for everything, shame as they are good games just don't want to play a glitchy game
@Daleaf don't hold your breath. Mafia 3 hasn't had any of the trophy glitches sorted. I thought with the definitive edition update it might've been fixed, but nope. Trophies are still glitched, and the game still crashes ever hour or slow.
@SirAngry yea that doesn't sound good with the trophy glitch and not being patched. I played mafia 3 and completed it and I honestly don't remember any crashes or anything, the only problem I had with it was that it was extremely repetitive missions and gameplay, maybe I was just lucky lol. I've played mafia 1 & 2 before and really enjoyed them that's why I was exited for these remasters but after hearing about the bugs in the 2nd one defo going to hold off until I know they have been fixed. It's a shame really as I think if they had done a good job then we would probably get a mafia 4, but atm I'm doubtful.
@SirAngry @Daleaf This is the only official update I could find regarding patches/bug fixes.

@KidBoruto cheers m8
When my 2 downloaded a patch so did 3 no sure what it did as I've been playing Remnant. I plan on going back to both my 2 didn't give me the pile of cash after doing that one dude so now I have to steal 16k cars.....
Wait hanger 13 is behind the remake? Guess I better wait a few extra months since the game will release broken.
Mafia remake is the game i wanted from the trilogy. Delays are fine if that is what is needed to ship a game not broken or with bugs.
Mafia 2 i also wanted for the upgrades, but i did a replay on my PS3 instead. No, the PS3 version is not 1080p at 60 fps, but 720p at close to 30fps, and definitely last gen. The PS3 game with dlc is about ¼ the size of the 50GB PS4 version. I played the base game and all 3 dlc with maybe 3 crashes and no bugs other than one audio glitch that did not repeat when i replayed the mission the glitch occured in.
My biggest issue i had during my PS3 replay were the suicidal npc's that would try their best to have me run them over with my car.
@Daleaf Not just a lot of bugs but those "how the hell did that even happen?" kind of bugs. Watch the first 10 seconds of this video.

@Matroska haha that's pretty bad man, didn't expect that. How are these bugs not being picked up before release is beyond me
Nobody cares
@Daleaf oh trust me they're picked up. But some Devs are (insert expletive here) and don't care about the shovelware they put out. Hanger 13 are purveyors of broken trash, and they know it.
