One perk of continuing to purchase your PlayStation 5 games physically is that you gain access to these super cool reversible box arts. Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, assumedly on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, sports a different cover on the inside of the case that you can switch to if the official key art doesn't take your fancy. Miles himself is front and centre on the reversible pamphlet alongside a bit of webbing and the logo for good measure. And thanks to Twitter user @Shyaren_ for posting this one.
We're sure this is one box art that'll make up a lot of PS5 physical collections since the spin-off is so good. In the 8/10 Push Square review, we called it an experience with swagger. "The overall gameplay structure may prove samey for those who failed to fall in love with Insomniac Games’ previous effort, but everyone else will have a blast with this generous spin-off story. Great characters, tons of activities, and some epic set-piece moments round out a must play superhero romp – and with the developer on this kind of form, we can’t wait to see more of the full-scale sequel that it’s inevitably cooking up."
Do you like the standard box art or this reversible art more? Debate in the comments below.

Oh wow, this is nice!
Cool but I never do reversible arts cause they’ll look awful on the shelf cause of the spine. XD
I get Insomniac wanted both the original and Miles Morales cover art to be similar to each other, but I really wish this was the main cover lol.
It retains the simplicity from the original but it's so slick!
I genuinely hate the fact that the reversible covers aren't just the default art. The retail cover at launch just looks so uninspired. I get that they wanted to bring uniformity between Miles Morales and the PS4 game, but honestly I think the reversible covers for both represent the stylistic and aesthetical differences between the two games and what makes each special
Yea I noticed this earlier, checked the AC Valhalla one and it's literally the same on the other side, but the Spiderman one is good hopefully we get more like this.
@Daleaf difference is on the ac one is the female character instead of the male on the front cover
This is a much better cover. Insomniac seem to mistake ‘simplistic’ and ‘uninspired’ with their cover arts.
@nessisonett I get the feeling that might have a lot to do with Marvel's involvement.
They should let you do that with digital games as well
Amazing. I'll be using this version. Should be getting my copy in the post tomorrow....to stare at for 7 days whilst trying to avoid spoilers 😭
I love a reversible cover wish it was a standard thing for all games
@LiamCroft
@hoffa007 haha yes it is lol, the place where the disc pops up was in way and just saw the two axes lol my bad.
I like it. That would be a great cover for a steelbook. Shame that the Sony PS5 games don't seem to have steelbooks.
I mean I'd use it but it looks so bad on the spine.
@LiamCroft lmfao Ultimate Alliance 3 and Avengers both got better cover art
At least they have backgrounds
@TheFrenchiestFry @nessisonett So two games that focus on multiple characters rather than a single one?
@LiamCroft Ok how about literally every Spider-Man game in the Activision era dating back to the first PLAYSTATION-EXCLUSIVE Spider-Man game on the PS1 in 2000. Hell, I'll even throw in the Atari 2600 game while I'm at it. It actually had things going on lol
You're REALLY stretching for excuses. Marvel games have had legendary cover art in the past for games they have been just as integral in helping develop. There is no excuse whatsoever, especially for a game where the literal backdrop is arguably the most iconic locale in Marvel Comics lore due to how many characters including Spider-Man were born, raised and cultivated their powers there. New York City is every bit as much of a character as Spider-Man is, and the reversible art shows that off way better.
@Daleaf lol don't worry i only found out myself earlier onlne
@TheFrenchiestFry You’re taking this a lot more seriously than I am 😂 I’m not making up excuses for why a box art is the way it is, I’m quite literally just putting my ideas and thoughts out there.
@LiamCroft Well here’s two that focus on just Spider-Man yet are a million times more interesting.
@LiamCroft You presented a counterpoint regarding this being the result of Marvel having creative direction over it.
I brought up examples where that still produced good box art, both in recent memory and other Spider-Man games from previous consoles.
Maybe I'm taking it seriously because you actually tried to present a counterpoint that can easily be countered in of itself, and also elaborated on how the current art could've been better given my knowledge of Marvel lore and you know...I know the source material because I read comics
I've completely changed my opinion of the PS5 standard box art layout. When I first saw them I thought they were horrible. White header, black font and blue box just seemed all kinds of awful. But now I think they do a great job of highlighting the individual cover art.
On topic, I hate reversible covers unless they also have the banner, spine etc. too.
Looks great. Miles Morales is such a well designed and constructed character. Deserving of more games in the future
@TheFrenchiestFry @nessisonett I'm sure we can all agree that Maximum Carnage on the SNES had the best cover art of any Spidey game.
@ChaosBadger777 I remember the cartridge being Carnage's face blending into a red background which was pretty sick looking
