Update: Assassin's Creed Valhalla patch 1.010 is available to download now on PS5 and PS4. As Ubisoft said, it's around 2.5GB in size. You can find all of the update information below, in our original article.
However, one thing that isn't highlighted in the patch notes is that this update adds three new perks to the skill tree, increasing Eivor's maximum power level to 403.
The three skills in question are:
- Arrow Looter - Increased chance to loot arrows from archers
- Assassin Carry - Hold down the assassination button to automatically carry the body of your target
- Fight Ready - Always start combat with one Adrenaline slot filled
Original Story: Assassin's Creed Valhalla's second big update will launch tomorrow (that's the 15th December), Ubisoft has confirmed. Patch 1.1.0 adds support for the Yule Festival — the game's first wave of 'seasonal' content. The developer says that more information on the Yule Festival is coming soon.
What's more, the update fixes an absolute boatload of bugs and other glitchy issues. For starters, the trophies that you can have crafted from the parts of legendary animals will finally appear in your settlement's longhouse.
The update is around 2.5GB on PS5, and 2.4GB on PS4. Nice to know it's not a huge download.

Wow, I’ve never before been dissuaded from playing a game by patch notes, but the evident level scaling completely removes my motivation to play
Did a few hours... found it very very bland, so won’t go back to it
I've logged around 62 hours so far and I've barely scratched the surface of the story. I've never been so involved in a game like this. The world is gorgeous, I love Eivor and the Viking lore and the stories I've encountered have truly kept my attention. Overall, it has been a blast.
@thefourfoldroot AC has had level scaling enemies since at least Origins, 3 releases ago.
@Spoonman-2 It takes awhile to get going. You're right, the combat is very bland. Once you start getting some skills in hand though, it really gets good.
@jmac1686 Same, I'm 60-ish hours in and haven't even been to half of the shires. And I'm not bored one bit.
Tbf combat isn't very fun until you unlock a few skills and abilities, I see how that could be a turn off.
@MFTWrecks
Well, then the patch notes mean I’m not playing 3-4 releases then, lol.
Seriously hate level scaling in RPGs. It’s equivalent to rubber banding in racing games.
@Voltan Combat is hit or miss. I am much more interested in the side missions and story portions. Enemy scaling does make it less fun since I enjoy being an overpowered beast.
Hopefully they fix the bug for the quest in dreams couldn't finish it. Around 45hrs in so far I'm enjoying it but it's not really grabbing me as much as origins and odyssey did, have mostly done the main missions, but going to start concentrating on side missions, will hopefully finish It before Xmas.
@thefourfoldroot There’s no level scaling in Syndicate, which I’m playing just now. All that means is that since I cleared the map with half the story left, I kill every enemy in one hit during story missions which somewhat takes away from the experience.
@nessisonett
So bad balancing instead of level scaling 🙄 don’t know why some devs find it so hard to get these things right. I guess it’s because of optional side quests and activities providing experience, they either have to auto scale the enemies, negating the purpose of levelling systems, or presume people aren’t going to do all activities and so end game enemies become a cakewalk. So why the big fetish about making activities optional just so things aren’t so obviously linear?
I really, really wish Ubisoft would implement a deconstruct element to weapons and armour.
@jmac1686 I do think that’s the main issue with these latest AC games. They rely on the player having some interest in the time period/setting rather than having an interesting story to tell.
Without the change of location, it’s exactly the same game we spent 300 hours playing just a few years ago.
@ILikeStake
I did 16 hours and gave up, hope others like it though 🤠
AC games had imo very weak writing, with Odyssey being a very low point for me. Valhalla on the other hand surprised me in the few hours I played. Story, setting and mood is quite good and they have minimised the “funny” bits to a few side quests. Intrigued!
The notes on the patch notes at Ubi site are quite funny to read.... XD
@Spoonman-2 You are not missing much. I am about 60 hours in and its just so...meh. About 70% of the content rewards are nothing but cosmetics. Cosmetics for your character, cosmetics for your boat, cosmetics for your settlement, cosmetics for your horse, etc... I find it all just underwhelming.
If it wasn't for the completionist in me, I would have stopped already. This will certainly be my last AC game, the story is good (as well as the writing for the side-quests), but the gameplay is just stale and full of busy work.
Nice!
Hit 62hrs today... crazy story event. Did not even know that entire part of the game was there. The world is just fantastic.
If you have Amazon Prime, get the free Carolingian Dynasty set.
I usually really like AC games, but really finding this one a bit of a grind. The writing is poor, and I'm finding the settings very bland.
What about the Demons Souls patch?? Did PushSquare forget about that game!?
Bit concerned about the level scaling, would prefer fodder to remain fodder tbh. Don't mind the level scaling on bosses however as once you get to around power level 200 I was able to kill lvl 400s, so it'll just force it to take a bit longer. I'm playing on hard difficulty too so the challenge is gone now.
Currently hit around power level 340 at 104 hours and still have 7 regions to clear in England plus another in Norway. That includes the story arcs as I clear each region with the arc.
A fix for one of the biggest issues in the game would be nice... Audio... it's one of the worst sounding games of the generation.

“Addressed an issue with jagged sea foam”.
Speaks for itself. Pesky sea foam.
@jmac1686 agreed! I haven't had this much fun in an Assassin's Creed game in a while. Absolutely loving everything about the game. I'm about 40 hours in and there's still a bunch to do. Enjoying the setting & characters of the version of AC.
I've always liked how Assassin's Creed games come out during the holidays, and always wished there is some sort of seasonal holiday add-ons and activities. Hopefully that's what the Yule Festival is
So does this fix the bug that doesn't let you finish off The Order? Played for 80+ hours and couldn't get the true ending because of it.
More importantly can I get my ps5 upgrade yet? sick of ubisofts garbage releases tried 2 create a support case only 2 be told due 2 covid have 2 use live chat so OK went 2 live chat "live chat is unavailable please use forums" no xtra content or seasonal ***** should be worked on until vast majority of bugs are worked out 🤔🤔
@Sh3p3000
The PS5 Upgrade path should have been working for weeks. I believe they patched that 2 weeks after release.
If you are still having problems either you're doing something wrong or you have to chase it up because it won't be fixed anymore.
Apparently they added haptic feedback for now and arrow as well!
@ThaBEN really? I hope that's true
@Voltan

The fact that the creators of Valhalla have put the Patch notes in the opening Game menu is a massive thumbs up from me.............other game makers take note.....I am tired of trawling through pages of sillyness just to get to the patch notes 👍
@ThaBEN noice, I'll check it out in a couple hours
I finished the story and I took out all members of the order of the ancients yesterday. I am done, I won't go back to this game. It was fun, but I am not going for the platinum trophy, too time consuming.
Can confim that they added adaptive trigger support for bows. Another improvement they don't mention (or I missed it) is how cosmetics appear in shops now. They were pretty much just pieces of paper before and now you get to actually see the item.
I can confirm this patch does nothing to fix the Cairn problem of not being able to validate after stacking the stones. I have two Cairns that remain incomplete even though I've completed them over a dozen times now.
I encountered the side swimming fish after the first patch. And the invisible fish, once caught. Haven’t tried the Latest patch yet. I hope they fixed the glitch where you try to seduce Tarben on the dock after a spot of fishing. I got stuck on the dock and had to reload my save. Sorry Tarben, the gods have spoken. ‘Twas not meant to be. Plenty more fish in the river... come to think of it there really aren’t. I hope they’ve patched in more fish too.
@thefourfoldroot i like when games give u the option to cut level scaling on or off. Was it the witcher 3 that did that? I may be wrong about witcher 3 but i can remember having the option on a few games.
is it me or does drawing a bow use the dual sense now?
Yet there are still keys that are missing.
