Not Even PGA Tour 2K21 Can Escape the Battle Pass

Clubhouse Pass launches alongside Detroit Golf Club

PGA Tour 2K21 is getting a major update this week, with Season 1 of the Clubhouse Pass. Scheduled to run through 3rd March 2021, you’ll be able to work your way through 75 levels of gear, in-game currency, and cosmetic items. Seems like there’s some really wacky stuff on offer here, but you’ll obviously need to pod out for the paid version in order to unlock most of it.

There is a free tier which everyone has access to, but the Premium Pass allows you to get everything. If you want to pay a bit more, you can grab the more expensive Premium+ Pass, which includes 20 level skips. This all launches alongside a free course for everyone: the Detroit Golf Club.

Remember in the old Tiger Woods games when there were loads of cosmetic items that you unlocked through gameplay, which gave you stats like an RPG. Those were the days.

Agree man. I miss the good old days of unlocking gear just by playing the game. This one seems like the modern warfare battle pass system. Around £18 to skip 20 tiers. Big no from me, I aint getting sucked into that again

@nessisonett The glory days it seems, I blame FIFA for being so successful at taking kids pocket money! Why on earth do we have to have passes for this sort of thing if it remains then the base games should drop by £10 - £20 IMO.
Do you still get all courses or are they part of the pass too? proper rubbish if so, I haven't played PGA since Rory and that wasn't as good as Tiger Woods.
I prefer Everybody's golf these days!

@Flaming_Kaiser As someone that plays the NBA 2k products from time to time yea they are a very greedy company with just about every aspect of their games from clothes, battle passes, the in game products and currency the list goes on

I've had these doubts for a long time so I guess I'll ask here.
How do these Battle or whatever Passes work precisely?

Basically you normally grind levels for stuff, but if you pay you don't, and unlock everything right away?

Is it like XP Boosters, in that you pay NOT to play the game?

@Flaming_Kaiser Agreed, my favourite version is the PS vita one absolutely loved it, I haven't tried it in VR yet do you know if it was a free upgrade or was it a whole new purchase?
