There had been some speculation that, with coronavirus ongoing, Sony may choose to wait until next year to bring its flagship baseball simulation to non-PlayStation platforms – but leaked MLB The Show 21 box art appears to confirm that’s not the case. Here we see images of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox One versions, complete with full PlayStation Studios branding. This will, er, take some getting used to.
This year’s cover focuses, perhaps unsurprisingly, on San Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatís Jr, who made his MLB debut a couple of years ago. There are no further details at the moment, but we do know a full reveal is planned for February. It’s also likely there will be Nintendo Switch and PC versions available at launch – bonkers times, eh?

Nice to see El Niño getting on the cover, he’s been a staple of my team for a few years now. It’s only a good thing that the game’s going to other platforms as they’ve been consistently brilliant and the extra revenue can hopefully bring more licenses for legends or even possibly the Negro League license.
Isn't this a fan made mockup? I'm pretty sure Xbox games don't say "Xbox One" on the box now - it's just "Xbox"?
This sickens me as much as seeing Gears of War (my favorite Xbox series) on PlayStation would sicken me.
I can’t wait to see the switch version to see if Sony did an EA or went all in.
@Voltan It's real.
Strange but not entirely unexpected. This gen seems to be the one where theyl be more cooperation between company's on games like this
@Danloaded
Maybe more cooperation, but this was definitely forced by the MLB. I think Sony had to renew the license last year and I'm sure MLB has people who knew a wider audience with access to the game means more money.
What would really be crazy is if it ended up selling more on Xbox and Nintendo platforms than on it's native PS or if it debuts on GamePass day one while Sonny still has no equivalent service 🤔
Let's see if MS extend the same curtsy when it comes to Bethesda games.
@get2sammyb I don't doubt it's coming to Xbox (and Switch, apparently), I just have doubts about the green frame in this pic
edit: apparently I was wrong and games that don't have a Series X/S version still have "Xbox One" on the box It would be kinda weird not to be cross-gen on Xbox though.
@Gamer83 Out of curiosity, why would you want a game associated with one of the largest sports leagues in the world to be gated only to PlayStation? Nothing about MLB The Show is proprietary to Sony in terms of intellectual property.
This attitude is bizarre to me. I could understand this if it was a Sony created franchise like GoW or Uncharted.. but baseball? MLB rightfully stepped in and told Sony this needed to be multiplatform if they wanted to retain the exclusive rights. As far as I know it was the only major sports game locked to a single platform.
@AdamNovice This has nothing to do with Sony being courteous... LOL
MLB told Sony this needed to go multiplatform or they would no longer have rights to officially use MLB teams and players. Sony had the option to stop making MLB The Show and another studio would have jumped at the opportunity, or they make the game available on Xbox and presumably PC. Literally no goodwill in this decision on the part of Sony.
@Generik
I've always believed in exclusives, that's what sells consoles and this is a Sony published game. Forced by the MLB or not (most people aren't nerds who look up news about that kind of stuff), this now opens up the door to speculation of games such as God of War, Horizon, etc, going to Xbox. It's not a good look.
It wont come to series X i bet. Not enough dev time with the new xbox consoles.
That's kind of surreal lol.
@Gamer83 It's a better look than losing the license completely and EA taking over. End of the day, it doesn't change the fact that the important Sony exclusives are still exclusive to PlayStation. Although don't be surprised when they start showing up on PC of course. I'd contend that is you are a fan of MLB The Show you should be excited for the game to be exposed to a wider audience. Xbox players are going to see a splash screen for PlayStation Studios and see how high quality the games can be. It could be the gateway for someone to go get a second console and get into the PlayStation ecosystem. Literally no downside here. More sales for Sony, more exposure to a wider audience of in my opinion the best sports sim game out. Everyone wins here in my opinion.
@Generik
If I'm an Xbox gamer, MLB The Show being on Xbox isn't going to make me want to get into the PlayStation ecosystem, it just makes me happy I don't have to get a PlayStation to have an MLB game worth a damn. It won't get a single person into the PlayStation ecosystem and the downside is it opens up the expectation that more PlayStation games go to Xbox as well as PC.
All that aside, I do agree that MLB fans on all console brands win out, which isn't a bad thing but I'd also add that I'm disappointed we aren't more spoiled for choice for MLB, NFL, NBA and NHL games like we were back in the day. Before the scummy deal EA and the NFL went into sports leagues were open to giving licenses to several developers. Don't like Madden? Cool, go ahead and buy NFL 2K. And if NBA 2K wasn't up your alley, or 'simulations' in general weren't your type of game, there was the more arcadey NBA Jam. When it came to baseball games I used to get MLB/MLB The Show on PlayStation, 2K on Xbox, All-Star Baseball and later on MVP on Nintendo. We don't get any of that cool stuff anymore and it's one of the biggest losses in gaming, imo, along with the lack of 'B' level games from the big publishers.
@Generik "MLB told Sony this needed to go multiplatform or they would no longer have rights to officially use MLB teams and players. Sony had the option to stop making MLB The Show and another studio would have jumped at the opportunity, or they make the game available on Xbox and presumably PC. Literally no goodwill in this decision on the part of Sony."
100% correct you are as this is literally what happened. Benefits MLB much more to reach a wider audience as possible much more than it does to Sony. Sony had a choice to walk away but did not and agreed to the new contract it signed with MLB. No need to be upset. Business decision that was.
I think also many need to change their definition of what competition is, at least when it comes to this industry. It is not about having a winner and a loser anymore, as it has come to be expected. But maybe I am wrong and simply just talking out of me arse. Interesting times ahead for all of us.
Oh no! more people can play a game I like now!
Wow, so many questions this raises...
For starters, there goes any notion that "PlayStation Studios" logo was going to be an indication of a game exclusive to PS. So how do we know now what PlayStation exclusives are going to be or remain exclusive? We officially don't, I suppose, since this opens the door to all sorts of possibilities.
Secondly, given that MLB: The Show is literally the only thing that Sony San Diego produces, do they even still qualify as a first-party developer anymore? Because I feel like they've basically transitioned into a third-party studio that Sony just happens to own.
And yeah, I get that Sony has no ownership over MLB and that they forced them into this, but....that could easily apply to Spider-Man as well, which Sony also has no ownership over outside of movie rights. I'm just wondering whether Disney could ever similarly force Sony's hand to make Insomniac's Spider-Man series multiplatform as well.
@HeeHo Are they people really mad about this though? Is absurd that a baseball game was exclusive to begin with. Now if Sony announces Ghost of Tosushima for Xbox/PC and you made that comment then you would look like a idiot.
@AdamNovice
Exactly! If this means we get Starfield and ES6 on PS5, I'm all for it.
@Voltan Yeah, I am not so sure this is real. If there’s a PS5 version, I can’t imagine there wouldn’t be an Xbox Series X/S version, if there’s an Xbox version at all.
@Generik
Too bad about the 'no good will whatsoever on the part of Sony' part, but it sounds true. Still, I agree with you that it works out better for everyone. I hope more developers and even Sony and Microsoft themselves are eventually able to come to that same conclusion. Console exclusives are, over all, a bad thing for gamers.
I've never understood the rabid way some fans of one console or another are so eager to stand up for their corporation of choice's profit margins. In the end, if you only bought one console, you're unfortunately going to miss some great games that are exclusive to the one you didn't choose.
In the rush to sell more consoles than each other, they're killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. In the long run, how many more games would be sold if they all came to both consoles?
@LordSteev "I hope more developers and even Sony and Microsoft themselves are eventually able to come to that same conclusion. Console exclusives are, over all, a bad thing for gamers."
So in your perfect world you would make Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft come together and have them just release one super console every couple of years? Wouldn't that be even better for gamers?!
@Juanalf
No. I'd have developers make more money by selling more games across all platforms. If you can't see the benefit of this for all gamers as well, then don't bother replying. If you feel you have a witty point to make, then please make it, but don't expect me to reply after this one if you @ me.
More games sold means more money to invest in the next game, etc. Don't be blinded by your favorite corporation. Beyond siphoning money out of your wallet, you mean nothing to them.
@Juanalf
These companies already try to screw consumers over as much as they can, if they were all making one super console together? Forget it, the price gauging and treatment of consumers would be more than asinine.
@Gamer83 Right you are.
@AdamNovice It's not because Sony wanted to it because Sony had too. With Bethesda Microsoft doesn't have to release it on Sony platforms if they don't want to.
MLB didn't like their games having exclusivity but they also weren't dumb enough to take the franchise away from Sony considering they've been doing the franchise justice for so many years and there would be a steep drop in quality to switch. All in all it benefits all parties I'm sure
@Gamer83 i mean its a sports game no sports game should ever be exclusive to one console especially when its the only licenced sports game on the market
@RobbySuave Been working on the xbone version for a few years. Sony obviously was not given a series x dev kit pre launch, so this is the only thing that makes sense. This game was announced it seems like a year ago for Xbox so not sure why this is such a shock.
@AdamNovice MS had better think twice before it considers extending a curtsy — Phil Spencer might pull his gracilis muscle or something.
I'd like to see exclusivity lessened instead of the current trend. So this makes me happy.
@Culjoseth I just don’t think it’s likely that they’d put out an Xbox One version and not a Series X/S version. PS5 is too similar to not release it on both.
Wow this is crazy, never thought I'd see a PlayStation Studios game release on Xbox.
@art_of_the_kill You definitely raise alot of good questions there...hopefully we will know the answers to most of them before the end of 2021.
Never understood why this was a PlayStation exclusive anyway? Doesn't make sense for a sports game of any type to be exclusive to a specific console. Anyone enlighten me??
Finally now everyone can enjoy MLB titles. It never made sense to be PS exclusive.
@HMazzy111 Sony had exclusive rights with MLB for quite some time. Not sure how many years but that is the sole reason it was exclusive to PlayStation consoles.
The contract was about to expire but MLB wanted Sony to release the game on competing platforms if it was to continue with the exclusive rights. Sony agreed and thus retained the rights but at the cost of exclusivity.
@EVIL-C
It made perfect sense because the game is developed by a Sony owned studio and there had long been exclusive sports games prior.
Lets just make the Sony’s bit hitters like HZD, GOW for the new generation of Sony consoles on PS5.
One of the reasons Sony studios achieve what they do is because they programme and develop the game for a single platform and use that platforms power and learn that single platforms
Special requirements.
I don’t want Sony developers having to start thinking about the game working on the series s especially with its lower specification etc.
Some other developers have already mentioned series s impacting game development further down the life cycle of this new generation.
That would be terrible thing to do to Sony’s Studios and top AAA games.
@Gamer83 There's actually a huge precedent for Sony publishing games on other hardware, it's just not been done in a very long time. And when there's no viable MLB title elsewhere, that's where it really became questionable. I'm not even a sports gamer and I aways found MLB's licensing beyond strange.
Ps on xbox doesn't really feel strange. Xbox is like an extension of pc, and Sony's been on pc since the 90s. And xbox on ps won't feel strange for the same reason.
Now, Sony on Nintendo..... That one needs Rod Serling covering the opening movie.
I know exclusives have been Sony's ace in the hole for ages, but like some others, i feel like the idea of exclusives is becoming unsustainable, as dev costs keep rising, as Ryan likes to keep reminding us. The model really limits potential profits. As things move into the cloud that gets even hairier. Sure netflix and Disney plus also have exclusives on their subscription services for the same reasons. But for games i think competing on platform experiences will become more important over time. With Sony doing this (by force) went moving more to pc (by choice), and xbox sharing the love like a flower child, nintendos the only one not tinkering with non exclusives.
@Gamer83 In what way is allowing more people to play a game a bad thing?
It's only baseball, not as if it's an exciting sport. Let Xbox owners bore themselves to death of they so wish.
😝
As for exclusives in general, I genuinely believe that these are important to the industry and it would be a sad day if every game is made available on all platforms. Sony spend a lot of money, time and effort in making exclusive games that draw people to their hardware. Nintendo do the same and so do Xbox. They want you to choose to buy their product, maybe not exclusively but they want their PS or Switch or Xbox to end up in your home (or at least pay into an online subscription service in the latter's case). They do this in large part by developing software that is only playable on their individual systems and there is nowt wrong with that.
Unfortunately we live in very entitled times and younger gamers want everything and they want it yesterday and preferably for free.
😉
@Turismo4GT after being only on PlayStation for so many years if people wanted to play the game they would already own a PlayStation. To be honest I would exspect the game to be optimised for the PS5 as well so it would be the best version.
It's great that other console owners can now play the series but I can't see the sales figures being huge.
It doesn't bother me. I have never played MLB and i am not intending to change it. I hope it won't get it's way to PC though
@Generik If you payed for all the tech why is it so weird? The only reason they did it because it was you let us go multiplatform or we go away with the license lets say a knive too the troath approuch.
@HMazzy111
Take two interactive and the MLB signed a seven-year a third-party exclusivity deal in 2005, The deal turned out to be a complete disaster for both, but it’s only saving grace was that it allowed Console manufacturers to continue developing their own baseball games and that’s what Sony did with MLB the show.
When the exclusivity deal ended in 2013 take two cancelled there mlb 2k series and no other publisher decided to pick up the mlb license so Sony was left as the only company developing a baseball video game with an MLB license. It’s the same with NBA 2K, Exclusivity by default.
@Col_McCafferty
Exclusives might have been useful a few generations ago when Sony and Microsoft first started directly competing against each other, but now? I don't know.
If someone like Naughty Dog (whom I know both you and I love) were able to release on all consoles, how much more money would they make? And with that money, it gives them the freedom to take some chances on their next game, maybe to really innovate. Not to mention how many more people would get to experience how fantastic they are at making games.
By now, almost everyone seems intrenched in one camp or another. I'd be all for a Naughty Dog game being OPTIMIZED for Playstation, but why deny other gamers a chance at your game?
It seems to be currently unpopular, but I love Bethesda. What you say about console sales is true, but now I have to buy 2 consoles this generation. At this point in gaming, with the hardware they are putting in the consoles, there really isn't much money to be made in the sales of the consoles themselves.
Sony stands to make even more money on in-house games if they go cross platform than with console sales alone. Same for Microsoft.
@Juanalf
I would rather they won me over with a better hardware build, better network/infrastructure, better subscription models.
If anything, there could be a better potential for gamers; with games available for all systems and comparable performance, each company would have to really think of ways to court your business.
Maybe Bethesda games are timed exclusives, reduced DLC or simply can't be offered on PS subscription services; standalone release only.
That way Microsoft win because it has the additional PS sales (maybe even at a slight premium price) but can offer them at better value as part of their services (enticing to buy an Xbox/sub) .
PS gamers do get the game, which is better than missing out, but also the feeling there is maybe better value on Xbox.
It's how PC manufacturers work, right? Try and come up with the best / most enticing options for you to play games for Windows. Behind that, Steam, Epic Stores pretty much have all the same games in the end, right? I am sure that all contributes to the lower prices for PC games even though they should require more QA and Testing because of the vastly different builds.
Thanks,
RPE83
Baseball is mainly for NA region and maybe Japan. Xbox has no chance in Japan, so this is mainly intended for US gamers. It makes sense to release on all platforms as the gamers base for baseball game is very small.
@RPE83
I think you've got a really good point there. Both Microsoft and Sony could make PHYSICAL copies of their games multi-platform, while retaining exclusive rights for their subscription services. Still a way for games to sell consoles and be exclusive, but both companies and all game developers can benefit from higher physical sales. Not to mention the gamer him or herself, who can play the games they want without going broke buying multiple consoles that don't make either company much money.
Good Idea.
The PS logo on Xbox cover kinda reminds me of when they announced the new logo. I think it was Jim Ryan, I'm not sure, but he never stated that PS Studios would mean exclusive titles, he said that it would mean for the public that the product has PlayStation seal of quality. He even goes to say that this could be first party or third party published by them. I think the main idea about PS studios logo is to make PlayStation brand stronger for people outside playstation. Same thing with Xbox Game Studios. Minecraft Dungeons show Xbox Game Studios logo on start on PlayStation as well.
On a side note, I've saw some people commenting on the game not having Series X version, but it will. Series X cover leaked on gamestop website. They will be different versions, not smart delivery. PS4 looks like will have a version too. You can check up Series X cover on PushSquare sister website, PureXbox.
@Dezzy70 This is one game, and only because the MLB would only renew the contract if Sony agreed to it. Don't worry about other future Sony heavy hitters going multi-platform.
Like somebody else said, I'm shocked this is a surprise to people as it was reported everywhere in late 2019 that this was going to have to happen at some point.
@RobbySuave If it does well, maybe it will come out next year with the next version.
Imagine if back in the 90s there was a Super Nintendo game released with SEGA on the front as publisher.....
@NEStalgia I don't see the big deal about this coming to Xbox, it's MLB not Nathan Drake or Kratos, but what is it going to look like on Switch, big head chibi baseball or that gawdawful Balan Wonder world demo? My wife walked in the room while I was playing Balan and she said "Why are you playing Spyro?" She meant the PS1 version. 😝
I think its cool that xbox players get to play rounders.
@KilloWertz
That’s good to hear
Sony Studios for Sony consoles only.
As much as I hate to accept it, we are moving towards a cloud based streaming future for our media. It will be more about streaming platform and less about hardware. X-Box is clearly preparing and fortifying for this.
Personally, I don’t have a problem with exclusives. It makes a lot of sense from a marketing perspective, for now. I would gladly buy an X-Box if it felt like money well spent, it just hasn’t felt that way to me since the original X-Box. It’s also simply too expensive for me to go all in on all three big console manufacturers, so choices must be made.
PlayStation Studios is another clear indication to me of where we are headed. I don’t think the idea of ‘exclusive’ is going anywhere, it’s simply in an awkward time of transition where Sony’s content (games/movies) will eventually be found on Sony’s exclusive streaming service, ditto for MicroSoft, Nintendo, Google and whoever else.
The plus side as consumers is that we will have access to many more games for cheaper, and the console wars will thankfully be behind us. The downside is that the frightening trend of never actually owning anything continues, in the usual celebratory fashion.
@NEStalgia Exclusive games are usually never the big money-makers on PS/Xbox anyway. Their purpose is to draw people to the platform and to satisfy their existing fanbase.
With that said, when you have big Nintendo and PS exclusives selling 10+ million copies, it's not like they aren't making bank anyway.
There are some worrying levels of superiority in this comment section that if applied to a situation other than video games would probably result in those people being placed on a watch list.
@LordSteev Over time, I've been caring less and less about exclusives. It would be great if I could play Microsoft and Nintendo titles on the same system as Sony titles. Likewise it would be great for the other consoles to get all the games too. Outside of tribalist fanboyism, there's not much reason to want games to be confined to one box.
@deathaxe I'm not sure anyone at Sony really cares about the SNES-CD debacle. That was nearly 30 years ago, and many of the people involved are in different positions. Does Jim Ryan feel slighted over that? I don't think so.
I wonder which version will perform better?
@nessisonett “superiority”...”watchlist”...can’t say I’m seeing what you’re seeing in here. I must be daft.
@Orpheus79V
It would be great to have access to everything on one console! I think you're right, it's just rabid nearsighted fanboyism run amuck.
I'm not sure how reality based this is, but with digital games going so cheap or even free on services, I'd like to see some kind of resolution between Sony and Mirosoft that actually put gamers first.
Sony and Microsoft aren't going to make any real money off of the consoles I'll need to play the games I want, but I'll be out a thousand dollars. If I only had to buy one, I'm sure I'd spend the other $500 on games, anyway.
I never understood why this was ever a one platform exclusive anyway. Who at MLB ever thought that was a good idea???
It’s going to take next to no effort to port the game to Xbox consoles, Sony gets some sales there, MLB gets a solid game that one could argue the last good MLB 2K game was 2K11.
@Danloaded No way Sony would have done it without MLB pushing it in that direction. It's either lose the exclusive license or release it on all console and PC. Xbots gonna love baseball now😏
@__jamiie it wasn't. Many companies had the MLB license but their games didn't sell as well as the show or were as good and they stopped making them or didn't renew the license.
@Ralizah Oh, im aware of that. Same for game pass. Which nobody here ever understands . Given the costs Sony spends on their productions I'm not convinced they make much profit off the exclusives. For every one that does, there's three that take losses, or the money is squandered buying timed exclusivity of demos.... Nintendo on the other hand never spends more than spare change found in the office lounge on a game and then outsells cod.... All from last place.
@nessisonett That's why I refused to even approach the ps comments for years until recently
@rjejr I really loved switch. I did. It was on the fast track to favorite console of all time. 3ds probably held that spot prior. But between the endless drought and the fact that most of the games released are also on consoles that can play the games at higher res and fps....i find it feels really dated while not feeling unique like 3ds, and i tend to not use it as much. It's a great design, but it's been stuck in 2016 for too long. I wasn't part of the switch pro chorus, but more and more i kind of think it needs one. Then again.... Imagine the preorders.....
@deathaxe The Nintendo grudge was Kutaragis grudge, and he used it to rile up the ceo at the time to greenlight a blank check on the ps1 project. But that ceo has been gone for ages. And Kutaragi hasn't been at Sony since he poisoned the well with ps3. Nobody with any influence from that era is there anymore, and it was mostly just Kutaragi, anyway.
Does it even matter if the game isn't exclusive to Playstation anymore? The Playstation version is still gonna be the best way to play game due to features like the Dualsense.
@KAPADO I meant this franchise. Why would the MLB agree to The Show at all? One platform means less sales.
Also, Sony has had exclusive MLB rights for the last 7 years.
@Col_McCafferty Agreed, exclusives are very important to the industry and it would be a shame if Sony, Microsoft, and especially Nintendo just gave it up. I wouldn't be having a Playstation or a Switch if there weren't exclusives to this day.
@__jamiie They didn't agree with exclusivity, I didn't think. Didn't 2K just now out of the baseball game business and another doing it for xbox . So San Diego Studios just remained with the license, and later worked out the exclusive deal. I'd like to know the real story too
@__jamiie
Money. They thought "exclusivity deal money" was a good idea. Back when the deal was made, there wasn't +110M PS4's sitting in global households and exclusivity made more sense. It brought MLB fans to the PS platform and put some money in both parties pockets. With last gen still being supported and next gen here as well, potential sales go up, so the cost of exclusivity may just be too high.
Idk, but regardless the exposure of a Sony game on XBox, may actually work in Sony's favor. Especially if the game does well. I'm sure it will have some Dual Sense features on PS5 tho', so PS will likely still be the best place to play.
@art_of_the_kill Disney can't do that because it will go against the terms for them being able to use Spider-Man in the Marvel movies.
Haha that's good news, MLB made right decision by forcing Sony to release MLB 2021on every consoles
& soon all Sony's exclusive games & published like Demon soul l, Sack Boy, HZD forbidden west, God of War, Returnal
The last of us 2, Days gone, and more will be on xbox & PC its definitely good news for all platforms and PC same goes to Microsoft will release & published their exclusive games on playstation & othet platforms
finally War consoles is about to end soo on its stupid
At least I get to experience those games on PC
R.I.P. published on playstation only 1995 - 2021
@Juanalf In a perfect world a console would just be the device that plays the games. Like a blu-ray player. Imagine if the brand of blu-ray player you owned determined which discs you could play.
With that said, I'm not naive about how the industry works and PC is as close to open community as you'll get. In that regard I think Microsoft making their 1st party games available on both console and PC is actually brilliant. Much larger customer base and allowes consumer choice of which platform you want to use.
Unpopular opinion here but Sony should absolutely release exclusives to PC. Maybe not day and date of launch, but within a year should be ample to give the console players the benefit of earliest access and then PC players can get it 6-12 months later. Sony sells more games, more players get to experience the titles and there is still a benefit to owning the console hardware as you get the titles first.
@Flaming_Kaiser Doesn't matter how much money Sony had invested in the tech. They don't own MLB and this they have to agree to license agreements to use the teams and players names and likeness.
I'm a baseball fan, so I don't expect everyone to understand this point but MLB is on a weird transcripts where the average age of a fan is getting to be beyond middle age. They need to attract the younger audience and quick. So this move is partially assumed at that. It simply is MLB insisting that the officially licensed game needs to be available EVERYWHERE. They have Sony the option to continue making MLB The Show but release it on all platforms or the license agreement would expire and another studio could take over.
It's a move that allowed Sony to retain the license, and likely sell a few million more copies, while benefitting MLB by reaching a wider audience.
Literally there is NOTHING to be upset about here. It's a sports game.. they should all be multiplatform.
whether forced to or not, i do wonder what would have happened if sony had said f*** it.. we're not doing multiplatform development. the MLB would have had to find a different developer, most likely starting from scratch.. with a strong possibility that the product could look a lot less favourable in comparison to the sony published games. a poor game is unlikely to sell as many even if it is on more platforms.
@Turismo4GT ps now has over 800 games and xbox will raise the price of game pass there's only 200 games on game pass
@PCMasterdeath22 i see xboxs games on playstation before all them exclusive. But then again microsoft is trying to take down google and Amazon game streaming service. That's why they buying all these studios
@Generik "Doesn't matter how much money Sony had invested in the tech" Bull remark too start with.
I really dont play sportgames so i dont care but for me its you pay you make the rules. You believe that its Sony job too do that thats not how i see it. A company that invests has no responsablity towards anyone.
@Flaming_Kaiser You clearly don't understand how licensing works. If you don't own the IP, in this case MLB teams and players likeness, you don't call the shots. Period.
Sony clearly has invested time and resources to make MLB The Show a great game franchise. MLB realized that and that's why they gave Sony the option to make it multi platform instead of just informing them that they were going to hand the license to someone else.
If you'd look beyond silly fanboyism you'd realize this is a win for everyone. More people are going to play this game = Sony earns more for the investment they make to develop the game. MLB is happy that the best game to represent their sport is available to everyone, not just a specific subset.
Seriously.. this is a good thing and is definitely not the hill to die on.
@Gamer83 No it doesn't
@NEStalgia My Switch gets played 30 minutes about 4 days a week. Wanna guess which game? 😉
@rjejr Gal Gun? Or the game with the furries?
I haven't touched AC since Christmas. It was just infuriating to not get any holiday decorations, and having to spam like 25 reindeer all over to maintain my 5 star from halloween. I can't really think of why I'd have any desire to go back and play it, at least until Easter where I'll walk around the cherry blossoms and illuminated reindeer and jack o lanterns in hopes of not failing to find freaking egg decorations.
@nessisonett..
What's aNegro License League?
@get2sammyb....... Is racist Language allowed on Push Square
@GREGORIAN The Negro League was the black-only baseball league due to segregation. There were loads of legends there like Satchel Paige and Josh Gibson who would have been stone cold Hall of Fame players if they were allowed to play in the main league. Jackie Robinson was the first black player to play in the MLB and the rest is history. It’s a shame that so many incredible players miss out on representation in these games since they never got their shot at the MLB. I suggest you just Google the Negro League rather than automatically assume it’s some sort of racist thing.
@NEStalgia OK I deserved that. Not sure how I missed it, old and senile I guess? Anyway the answer would have been Senran Kegura if I was going that route.
Reindeer? What reindeer? I have a sled but can't recall any reindeer. Need to go check my pics. I have like 1,000 ACNH pics.
@GREGORIAN Here, saved you the trouble of using google. Big news this year in US baseball land.

@nessisonett..... Fair enough and I admit I did not research. I am from South Africa and not clued up on American sports which is no excuse.
It's just that to me it sounded as bad as having a "Cracker League" or "Gringo League" or "Redneck League" or "Latino League", again apologies to anyone if I am being offensive if these leagues actually exist.
I wasn't trying to be sour or reactionary.
