If you're reading this article, then congratulations on making it to 2021. The current state of the world aside, this is set to be another good year for games, with a load of high profile titles promising a release date over the next 12 months. Of course, 2021 will also be the PS5's first full year on the market, and we can't wait to see what Sony does with its new machine.
Anyway, we're here today to poll you lot on your most anticipated PS5 or PS4 title. All of the games featured in this article have, at the time of writing, a 2021 release window (sorry, Final Fantasy XVI). There's no doubt that some of these titles will be delayed, while other games not on this list will launch earlier than expected. But right now, we can only work with what we have.
And so without further ado, we leave you to have your say. The results of this poll will be published on Friday the 8th January, 2021.
What are your most anticipated PS5 or PS4 games of 2021? (Select 3 games) (6,933 votes)
Aragami 20%
Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy0.2%
Robert (or Rob if you're lazy) is an assistant editor of Push Square, and has been a fan of PlayStation since the 90s, when Tekken 2 introduced him to the incredible world of video games. He still takes his fighting games seriously, but RPGs are his true passion. The Witcher, Persona, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, Trails, Tales — he's played 'em all. A little too much, some might say.
Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart, Little Nightmares 2 & Kena. I wanted to vote for GOW Ragnarok in place of Kena, but I truly believe GOW Ragnarok will be delayed to 2022.
I'm strangely excited for Gran Turismo. Haven't played a game in the series since PS2. Horizon was the obvious pick. Also, can't wait for the PS5 update for Cyberpunk.
Ever since I saw the leaked footage several years ago, HOGWARTS LEGACY has been at the top of my list. And it looks like I am the only person excited for GOTHAM KNIGHTS. ; ) .
My top 3 are obvious picks: RE Village, Horizon: Forbidden West, and God of War 2.
Other big ones I'm looking forward to are Persona 5 Strikers, Hogwarts: Legacy, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, NEO: The World Ends With You, It Takes Two, GhostWire: Tokyo, Deathloop, Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One, and Returnal.
Well I voted for the top 3 so far when the results popped up. Trouble is I’m lowering my expectations for release dates this year. Covid is going wild which will hurt development And after cyberpunk no one will want to release an unfinished and un-debugged game also.
I picked the obvious ones: God of War, Horizon, Ratchet & Clank. And I’ll buy all of them day one. But if a new Uncharted appears out of nowhere, then that’ll top my most anticipated list.
Oh look i'm the 1% that wants Back4Blood..... R.I.P Anyways my 3 Hitman 3, Back4Blood, Far Cry 6 I cant vote for anything that doesn't have a Solid Release date yet.
What do you know... I chose the three most popular games: Ratchet & Clank, Horizon FW & God of War. Didn’t think R&C would be that popular to be honest.
It’s not on the list but I’m really looking forward to Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga too. Feels like an age since they announced it.
Think maybe they wanted to put some distance between it and the sequel trilogy... but The Mandalorian seems to have restored some good faith in Star Wars name again, so now would be a good time to release I recon.
I guess god of war Ragnarok would be good cos I'm playing through the series at the moment.
I have the first horizon but haven't played it yet. I'd like to play Gotham knights if it has a single player. Hogwarts legacy looks interesting but I doubt I'd buy it day one, if at all. That's probably true for all the games I've selected though.
Not sure how many of those games are coming out on PS4 either so I won't get too excited for any of them
Well this was impossible for me to whittle down to 3, what a great year for games ahead. 1.)Ghostwire: Tokyo 2.)God of War Ragnarok 3.) Ratchet and Clank With a whole lotta ‘honourable mentions’
I would have voted for God of War, but I don't believe it will be out in 2022. Horizon: Zero Dawn was one of my favourite games of the last generation, but I'm not sure they'll pull the sequel off.
Not on the list - but the new battlefield is too of my list! Back 4 Blood looks lots of fun and then keen for some Harry Potter (could be tons of fun if done right!)
Hitman 3 is my most anticipated game right now, mainly because we know plenty about it and it's releasing soon. For similar reasons, Balan Wonderworld and Nier Replicant were my other choices.
There's various other games here that I'm not eagerly awaiting just yet, but could have me super hyped closer to release. These include Hogwarts Legacy, Persona 5 Strikers, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne.
I went for Goodbye Volcano High, Ghostwire Tokyo and Disco Elysium, but this is a ridiculous list where picking just 3 is incredible difficult! Can’t wait for God of War, Horizon, Balan Wonderland, Mass Effect, Little Nightmares 2, Ratchet and Clank...too many!
I voted for: Cyberpunk ps5 (I hope they do something good with this) Kena Hogwart's legacy.
I am also looking forward to Ratchet & Clank. And also God of War and Horizon, but I still need to play part 1 of those and see if I like them (didn't have a ps4)
Let me just say that this list of games alone is VERY solid. It's not yet confirmed, but IF Overwatch 2 releases this year I'm gonna be all over it. Other than that: Horizon, GoW and Cyberpunk when they finish the game!
Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy - a weirdy and unwieldy game name, I must say. Bringing up the rear with a whopping 0%. Nice touch on adding Bus Simulator 21 to the list, too, I’m always joking about that series with people so it’s nice it got a shout out.
So yeah. I was gonna vote to add Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5) to the list but I’d just recently seen this video - https://bit.ly/3rSzyKK (it's YouTube but I had to shorten it due to PushSquare turning underscores into italics) - and figured with all those valid criticisms in mind, despite having enjoyed the game enough once around, perhaps twice was too much to squander one of three votes on.
*So instead (in order) :- *
1. Gran Turismo 7 (I want to see it more like GT6 than the personally much-hated GT Sport)
2. God of War Ragnarok (cos why wouldn’t you)
3. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (looks like a potential “best in series” and early on in gen first-party killer app that takes advantage of the hardware)
Yes sir, I predict 2021 being an excellent year for video games, and bringing even more players to the fray to distract from what will inevitably be another tedious year of lockdowns and more job losses, plus all the fallout from Brexit for those of us living in the UK. (un)Happy days! 🍻🥂 - Oh yes and lots of drinking too.
The ratings are really low of all games. If everyone put the same game in the list it is voted for by 100% of the people, but here it is probably shown as 33%. All votes should be multiplied by 3 to give a good indication and to get better numbers than most that are 0 or 1%.
Hi there fellow gamers.
Even though we can only select three my most
anticipated games are:
Returnal;
Gran Turismo 7;
Horizon Forbidden West;
Mass Effect Legendary Edition;
Guilty Gear Strive;
Deathloop;
God of War Ragnarok.
PS: and Kena Bridge of Spirits as well as Final Fantasy XVI.
It´s a really good list if I do say so myself 😜
So many great games coming, so little time to enjoy them.
2021 is looking pretty bright for PS5 and gamers.
Cheers, stay safe out there and happy gaming to us all
It hasn't been officially announced yet, but we know it's coming... FfXIV next expansion. Shadowbringers was amazing and the patches were great too... Can't wait to see where they go next.
Limited to 3 games I had to go with the big Sony games (Ratchet, Horizon, God Of War) but I'm also excited for Kena, Stray, Gotham Knights and a few others.
Dang no love for Disco Elysium or the Mass Effect collection lol. I've waited years for those to drop it feels like. God of War I can imagine will be top of the list. The last game was a perfect 10/10
There's plenty of choices for me, but Horizon Forbidden West and Kena Bridge of Spirits are the reasons I own a PS5. Threw in Mass Effect Legendary Edition since I am actually really looking forward to replaying that series.
Oh no, just 3? How limiting
1. God of war Ragnarok
2. Horizon Forbidden West
3. Kena Bridge of Spirits
(4). Bloodborne Remaster for PS5 (it simply has to happen, even it it's gonna be in the 2nd half of 2021, there's no other way)
(5). Mass Effect Legendary Edition
(6). Far Cry 6
(7). Hogwarts Legacy
(8). Resident Evil Vilage
(9). Elden Ring
(10). Prince Of Persia Remake (don't shoot, i like the trilogy )
I changed my status for Ratchet & Clank: A Rift Apart PS5 from "get hyped" 😀 to "cautious" 🤨.
I have to observe that games, i don't want to find another toxin inside kids games. 🧐
1, God of war Ragnorok 2, Hogwarts Legacy 3, Ratchet and Clank, A rift apart. Closely followed by Horizon and Kena Bridge of Spirits. Also interested in Mass Effect Legendary Edition.
Yet again, the PS poll wouldn't let me participate. It wants me to select 3, when I only want to select 1.
I guess that I could just randomly select the other 2, but then that would make a mockery of the poll's intended purpose, as it would then contain false results.
Ys9, SMT3, R&C P5S, ME Remaster, Kena, Stray, Hitman 3, Hogwarts, Neir, Horizon 2......hard to keep that to just 3, even if not all of them are games I'll end up choosing PS for.
Ended up selecting R&C, Stray, and Kena on the poll just because they're definitely PS-only. And honestly Stray has me more piqued than Assassin's Hunter: Robot Turok 2, cool as it is. Stray feels "very PlayStation" - HFW could be Ubi or Warner or anyone.
There's only one cyberpunk game in 2021. And it's time is meow.
Horizon: Forbidden West, Stray, and Far Cry 6 (yes, I love them... sue me)... as I could only choose 3.
Back 4 Blood is also up there, along with Returnal.
Got a passing interest in one or two of the others, but beyond that, there's not much there for me... another part of the reason I'm in no immediate rush to upgrade. I'm sure that will change once more of Sony's first-party studios announce their next projects.
My Top 10 List: Ratchet & Clank: Rifts Apart God of War II: Ragnarok Horizon II: Forbidden West Digimon Survive Gotham Knights Hogwarts Legacy Kena: Bridge of Spirits NEO: The World Ends with You Persona 5 Strikers Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake
Honorable Mentions: Balan Wonderworld Ghostwire: Tokyo Hitman III Little Nightmares II Mass Effect: Legendary Edition NieR Replicant Praey for the Gods Resident Evil VIII: Village Returnal Scarlet Nexus Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster Stray The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (PS5) Yakuza: Like a Dragon (PS5)
If they all arrive this year, then must is as follows.
God of War: Ragnarok Horizon Forbidden West Ratchet & Clank: A Rift in Time
Other games I'm looking forward to are Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, and I dont know if it's coming out this year, but I'm still looking forward to Biomutant.

If kratos is coming in 2021 then kratos otherwise.... I'mma stick with aloy.....
Horizon, Cyberpunk and Disco Elysium... in that order!
Horizon
Little Nightmares 2
Gotham Knights
Gran Turismo 7
Hogwarts
In that order. Half expecting GK to be trash but still really want to know for sure.
My PS5 list:
1) AC Valhalla, whenever I can get a PS5
2) Horizon: Forbidden West
3) Gran Turismo
4) Ratchet & Clank
My PS4 List:
1) Biomutant
2) Edge of Eternity
3) Tales of Arise
No LEGO Skywalker Saga? 🤨
Ys IX, SMT III Nocturne HD, and Persona 5 Strikers are easily the games on that list I'm most excited for.
Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart, Little Nightmares 2 & Kena.
I wanted to vote for GOW Ragnarok in place of Kena, but I truly believe GOW Ragnarok will be delayed to 2022.
Gran Turismo 7 is most anticipated if I have to pick only 1.
And it looks like I am the only person excited for GOTHAM KNIGHTS.
; ) .
Disco Elysium. Cannot wait to experience this game.
My most anticipated game is getting a PS5 🤷
Well I voted for the top 3 so far when the results popped up.
Trouble is I’m lowering my expectations for release dates this year.
Covid is going wild which will hurt development
And after cyberpunk no one will want to release an unfinished and un-debugged game also.
I picked the obvious ones: God of War, Horizon, Ratchet & Clank. And I’ll buy all of them day one. But if a new Uncharted appears out of nowhere, then that’ll top my most anticipated list.
GOW Ragnarok, Horizon and Hogwarts for me. Overall though, there is so much to look forward to on this list!
Oh look i'm the 1% that wants Back4Blood..... R.I.P
Anyways my 3 Hitman 3, Back4Blood, Far Cry 6
I cant vote for anything that doesn't have a Solid Release date yet.
So many great games lol..
Gotta start saving my money as this will be an expensive year.
I have at least 7 games on this list I'm getting for sure lol
Elden Ring in 2021! Let’s think it into reality!
Tough to pick just 3 but I went with Balan Wonderworld, Rift Apart and RE Village. Kena and Horizon are a close 4th and 5th place though.
1. Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 2
2. Returnal
3. Horizon Forbidden West
This is just from this list. If Sammy is right in his prediction and Starfield releases this year, that automatically jumps to number one for me.
Im not that familiar with all the games listed.
Not sure how many of those games are coming out on PS4 either so I won't get too excited for any of them
I doubt you could even imagine it
Well this was impossible for me to whittle down to 3, what a great year for games ahead.
1.)Ghostwire: Tokyo
2.)God of War Ragnarok
3.) Ratchet and Clank
With a whole lotta ‘honourable mentions’
Horizon Forbidden West is an obvious No.1.
Also voted for Kena, that looks magical.
Voted for God of War Ragnarok as well even though I suspect it won't be released until next year.
Lots of others I'm interested in though including Resi 8, Hogwarts, Stray and a game not listed, Little Devil Inside.
There are a lot of interesting games, but I'll have to say Ratchet, Gran Turismo and God of War.
Horizon, GoW and Hogwarts Legacy (let’s pray for it to be good!).
GOWR, Ratchet, Resident Village...not far behind Horizon.
Since we won't have Final Fantasy 16 or the second part of the Remake of 7 my votes go to Atelier 2, the new Horizon and the new Resident Evil.
There is no way shape or form that GoW is coming out this year , IDC what anyone says that game is not coming out in 2021.
God of war ragnarok.returnal.ratchet?and clank.little nightmares 2.word up son
Still looking forward to cyberpunk, but in the state it's meant to be played in.
1. Mass Effect Legendary Edition - they weren't nearly enough Bioware style RPGs last generation.
2. Hogwarts Legacy
3. Nier Replicant
4. Ratchet & Clank
Honourable mentions: Destruction All-stars, Goodbye Volcano High.
I would have voted for God of War, but I don't believe it will be out in 2022. Horizon: Zero Dawn was one of my favourite games of the last generation, but I'm not sure they'll pull the sequel off.
I voted for Kena and Ratchet and probably the only one that voted for Riders Republic! So hoping it’s like SSX Tricky🙏🙏🙏!
Not on the list - but the new battlefield is too of my list! Back 4 Blood looks lots of fun and then keen for some Harry Potter (could be tons of fun if done right!)
GT7, R&C and It Takes Two (few games to play with the wife).

@JustPlainLoco
Same here.
I voted for:
Cyberpunk ps5 (I hope they do something good with this)
Kena
Hogwart's legacy.
I am also looking forward to Ratchet & Clank. And also God of War and Horizon, but I still need to play part 1 of those and see if I like them (didn't have a ps4)
I am the 0% guy who put Outriders in my vote haha.
Hey there are too many so one game at a time , right.
@JJ2
I feel the same way with VTM2
How did Back4Blood only get 1% so far?
Let me just say that this list of games alone is VERY solid. It's not yet confirmed, but IF Overwatch 2 releases this year I'm gonna be all over it. Other than that: Horizon, GoW and Cyberpunk when they finish the game!
Like the majority of people here I voted for R&C, GOW and HFW but I seriously doubt all 3 release in 2021. R&C and maybe, just maybe, 1of the other 2.
At least they didn't add Beyond Good & Evil 2 to the list, I've think Push square has been predicting that game releasing since 2018. 😂

Lots of good games but easily God of War, Horizon, and Persona 5 Strikers. FFXVI if it’s coming this year
The ratings are really low of all games. If everyone put the same game in the list it is voted for by 100% of the people, but here it is probably shown as 33%. All votes should be multiplied by 3 to give a good indication and to get better numbers than most that are 0 or 1%.
GTA V on PS5 and GTA IV also if it’s not just a rumour
Horizon 2: Forbidden West - anything else I want/buy is a bonus...
Hi there fellow gamers.
Even though we can only select three my most
anticipated games are:
PS: and Kena Bridge of Spirits as well as Final Fantasy XVI.
It´s a really good list if I do say so myself 😜
So many great games coming, so little time to enjoy them.
2021 is looking pretty bright for PS5 and gamers.
Cheers, stay safe out there and happy gaming to us all
Yeah how come only three?
1/Horizon Forbidden West.
2/Kena Bridge Of Spirits.
3/Ratchet And Clank....
annnnd I don't even have room for God Of War Ragnorak,Resident Evil 8,Persona Strikers etc etc..
My baby was delivered today. She’s weighed 16 lbs and she’s black and white mixed just like my 2 other children.
Some good games on the way, hard to pick just three.
FF7 remake part 2??!!
One can hope its coming 2021 I guess but the one I'm looking to most just has to be God of War
Seeing cyberpunk get any votes is disgusting.
It hasn't been officially announced yet, but we know it's coming... FfXIV next expansion. Shadowbringers was amazing and the patches were great too... Can't wait to see where they go next.

@Boon520 Whoa a Disco Elysium fan! Hiiiiiiiiii
1)Let's go kill Thor 💪
2) Kenna
3) Ratchet and Clank/Uncharted if it comes out
1) Nier replicant
2) Kena bridge of spirits
3) Balan wonderland
anyone knows if ragnarok will came for ps4 too?
There's plenty of choices for me, but Horizon Forbidden West and Kena Bridge of Spirits are the reasons I own a PS5. Threw in Mass Effect Legendary Edition since I am actually really looking forward to replaying that series.
Horizon .. without a doubt
Oh no, just 3? How limiting
1. God of war Ragnarok
2. Horizon Forbidden West
3. Kena Bridge of Spirits
(4). Bloodborne Remaster for PS5 (it simply has to happen, even it it's gonna be in the 2nd half of 2021, there's no other way)
(5). Mass Effect Legendary Edition
(6). Far Cry 6
(7). Hogwarts Legacy
(8). Resident Evil Vilage
(9). Elden Ring
(10). Prince Of Persia Remake (don't shoot, i like the trilogy )
No particular order, Horizon , God of War, RE:Village and Deathloop, hoping we see Dying light 2, definitely playing Far Cry 6 as well.
Cyberpunk 2077 i have God of War Ragnarok and Ratchet and Clank. I have more I know I will purchase.
Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy and Nier Replicant.
Only games I've pre ordered for this year.
Just the 3 exclusives for me. I'll play the others on the PC.
For me, the most anticipated game is the Horizon Forbidden West. The Horizon Zero Dawn was the game which made me buy a PS4 Pro.
God Of War, Horizon, Ratched and Clank...
I would also Hades on PS5 if/when it comes too
Seeing the current landscape, I think I'm not going to expect anything to release in 21 until it's a fortnight out.
I'm waiting this game.
I'm positive serious with my choice.
I changed my status for Ratchet & Clank: A Rift Apart PS5 from "get hyped" 😀 to "cautious" 🤨.
I have to observe that games, i don't want to find another toxin inside kids games. 🧐
I'll make the call: Deathloop will be one of the best games this year. A fantastic, original outsider like Dishonored.
1, God of war Ragnorok
2, Hogwarts Legacy
3, Ratchet and Clank, A rift apart.

There's only one cyberpunk game in 2021. And it's time is meow.
Little Devil Inside! God of War of course, and HZD I think. I hope Hogwarts Legacy is going to be good. 2021 looks promising for now..!
Ratchet, Forbidden West and Hogwarts for me
Horizon: Forbidden West, Stray, and Far Cry 6 (yes, I love them... sue me)... as I could only choose 3.
Back 4 Blood is also up there, along with Returnal.
Got a passing interest in one or two of the others, but beyond that, there's not much there for me... another part of the reason I'm in no immediate rush to upgrade. I'm sure that will change once more of Sony's first-party studios announce their next projects.
My three:
God of war
Ratchet and clank
Horizon
There's no way Gran Turismo 7 gets released this year.
I feel that Hogwarts could be a hit we shouldn't sleep on.
My Top 10 List:
Ratchet & Clank: Rifts Apart
God of War II: Ragnarok
Horizon II: Forbidden West
Digimon Survive
Gotham Knights
Hogwarts Legacy
Kena: Bridge of Spirits
NEO: The World Ends with You
Persona 5 Strikers
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake
Honorable Mentions:
Balan Wonderworld
Ghostwire: Tokyo
Hitman III
Little Nightmares II
Mass Effect: Legendary Edition
NieR Replicant
Praey for the Gods
Resident Evil VIII: Village
Returnal
Scarlet Nexus
Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster
Stray
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (PS5)
Yakuza: Like a Dragon (PS5)
i AM BREAD 2 babyyyy
If they all arrive this year, then must is as follows.
God of War: Ragnarok
Horizon Forbidden West
Ratchet & Clank: A Rift in Time
Other games I'm looking forward to are Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, and I dont know if it's coming out this year, but I'm still looking forward to Biomutant.
