GTA Online may be a multiplayer mode intended to play with friends and strangers, but as part of an earnings call, Take-Two has revealed that 50 per cent of fans who enjoyed the latest Cayo Perico Heist content did so alone. That’s a staggering statistic, really – it’s the first Grand Theft Auto V update that’s designed to be tackled solo as well as co-operatively.
Obviously, there is huge pent-up demand among the Grand Theft Auto fanbase for a new game, and Take-Two has commented that it will continue to deliver “single player experiences”. We assume this means that any future GTA Online updates will be playable solo, which is good news for those looking to enjoy more of Los Santos – especially with a PlayStation 5 port due later this year.

How does that work? (playing a multiplayer add-on alone)
What can you do in this add-on, are there missions and NPCs?
How big is the new area, is there a lot to do?
Hope they're monitoring my 5,678hrs just moseying in RDRII's SP and realize that we still love their games solo!
@TheArt If they were monitoring those sorts of hours then you’d be in some sort of rehabilitation centre by now!
@TheArt how many playthrough's is that?
I didn’t realise you could do it in single player. I’ll get on that after work tomorrow.
Remember... Single Player is so dead 🙄
@nessisonett @MightyDemon82 I'm exaggerating obviously. On my 3rd playthrough currently.
I'm not surprised. Trying to complete heists with random players is like babysitting three kids.
@GamerDad66 I'd say the new area is about the size of the third island from GTA III, if that helps. I've only done the first setup mission, which involves scouting the place a bit. It's very restrictive and throws you back to the start if you get spotted by a CCTV camera or a guard. I'm hoping they'll open it up to free roam eventually, there's some serious scope for offroad races on that island
Haven't been there myself yet
