Destruction AllStars smashed its way onto PS5 last week with February's PlayStation Plus update. The wreck-'em-up seems to have divided opinion somewhat, but we reckon it's pretty good fun when it all comes together. We gave it a 'Not Bad' 6/10 in our Destruction AllStars PS5 review, explaining that with the right post-launch support, the game's potential could shine through.
But as always, we want to know what you think. Have you played much Destruction AllStars? What do you make of it? Vote in our polls, and then floor it in the comments section below.

First impressions are everything to me, especially with these live services. Based on what's here now, this is one of the most boring, empty games I've played in recent years. I don't care how much they add in the future if they can't deliver a satisfying launch experience. This isn't a small indie studio self-publishing their debut title, so I really don't feel like cutting this game some slack. I won't be surprised if the community for it is barren by next year.
And I really wish Sony would stop dabbling in live services. They suck at it.
It's ok but I'm glad I didn't spend £69.99 on it or whatever they were originally going to charge
Ive had a good time with it.
I'm having fun with the game but after I get 50 wins I'll be looking to boost the cars specific trophies. So I hope the player base thins out and I can get a group together at 3am to get em done!
It's just a bit boring and the game modes are very repetitive. As a free game on ps plus then fair enough but I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it.
I love twisted metal I love destruction derby but this is a tad boring and I’m really glad it came out free on plus won’t bother playing this again
No PS5 like many others the PS5 should have released later nextgen should have started later.
I experience everything the game had to offer in under 30 minutes several times over, while this doesn't have much weight since is so early and I have had the PS5 for a full week! I will still safely say is the worst PS5 game I've ever played 😐
I hope we do someday get an actual new Twisted metal game, maybe they can bring Jaffe back. As for this game I hope it goes multiplat so that it doesn't ruin Sony's rep of making fantastic best of the industry exclusives.
It’s fun but shallow gameplay.
If they support it and add more content it could be great.
If nothing else it’s made me reinstall Rocket league again which I’m thoroughly enjoying.
I downloaded it, saw there was a bit of a mixed feeling about it edging towards negative so deleted it. That said I'm more a SP game with the odd dabble online, so not the target audience.
It's okay, the gameplay, graphics, and characters design are good, but online game isn't my cup of tea so uninstalled it after trying a couple of match. I wish the game has single player mode like twisted metal though.
Let's have a mode where you can stay in the car. Unless there is one already ??
@Dobbos I was gonna say id like an out of car mode but either would be good!
Personally I'm enjoying it but I only play about 2 matches a day..and always come last.
@Wazeddie22 I have only played it once and came 2nd last.
Very generic design and not much excitement during matches at all. Could have been so much more, really. Like some others here, it made me want to play Rocket League again.
I replied it's ok but I didnt play long. It just doesnt grab me. I prefer rocket League. Would be nice to have a mix of the two.
Will say got old very fast just a bit boring after a while. can not see me playing much more taking valuable hard drive space
It's OK but being honest I much prefer rocket league. Calling it now, servers will close on this sooner than driveclub.
This game soooo wants to be onrush..the art design is almost identical and onrush does everything so much better..
One of the main issues I have with this game is the art style and the... character designs. It is fugly and makes me wish for Twisted Metal game instead.
If there was a game I was excited for was this, man was I wrong
I like the game, and when i can actually wreck into people when im trying to, it feels like a great time. The problem is the real challenge feels like actually wrecking someone. The stadiums are too big and i drive around more than half the match just to find people. They need to make the stadiums smaller? or add more players, one or the other..or this game just feels like a chase match, rather than a destruction derby.
Played a bit first night, haven't gone back afterwards, it's ok but didn't really grab me that much, but not massively into online anyway.
It seems this is no Fall Guys.
It's okay. Needs to be cars only and arena needs to be smaller for more destruction. Played it one day and never touched it.
Played a couple of hours. Was ok. In Australia so not good that the closest server is Japan. Tried to get in a few multiplayer games, it just timed out and gave me an error. Uninstalled it and will wait to hear if they put in some Oceania servers.
The arenas are too open. I’d love to have some race style events rather than everyone all over the map so you spend half the time chasing opponents.
I don't like multiplayer centric games so this one was an instant pass for me. I might have checked it out if it had noteworthy single player but since it doesn't I don't even want to waste time downloading it.
I haven't had a chance to play it yet, maybe sometime later today?
@Wazeddie22
I’m averaging about 7 matches per day. I’ve came In 2nd place about four times.
The game is fun, but it’s not balanced well. I’ve tried all the characters but the one I’ve gravitated to the most is Lupita. 90% of my matches are with her. I can’t get much done with most of the rest of the cast.
It’s nothing to write home about tbh, free & mindless fun for an hour or two. Hard to get enthused when it feels like we’re just the early adopters for when the game eventually gets more content who knows how long down the line.
The thing that pisses me off about this game more than anything else though is the fact they were going to charge full price for it at first. They had to be aware there isn’t enough content here to warrant it
@Marios-love-child I'm more glad that they game me a refund, because I preordered it along with the console.
My brother and I will have to download and play it this coming weekend. It looks fun. Nothing groundbreaking, but worth trying.
It’s fun until you realise each mode is the same with slight variation then you realise you’re stuck in a never ending sequence of crashing, ramming, running and hijacking. “Ohh what’s this? A new car, let me enter. Oh no, someone has wrecked my car, let me find a new one, ooooo look someone to wreck, let me just - oh no I’ve been wrecked...” and before you know it you’re alone on a beach in Skegness, the local nittys have stolen your kidneys in exchange for drugs and your eyes are bloodshot, but it’s alright, you managed to order a PS5, you’ll be fine, unless ...
Tune in next time
I like the gameplay for the most part, it's just that the game itself seems really barren. Like what am I working towards here? Also where has the voice chat gone?
The stadiums need to be smaller, it just feels empty at the moment.
@frabbit Ironically enough, a lot of people vocalised their disdain for the auto-party chat the game had at launch, so the developer switched that function off by default.
The concept is fun and the art, while generic is nice. Gameplay is okay for a few rounds, but the fact there are only two modes if playing in a party is a shame. Custom skins are lacking though I don't care too much about those. Odd that there is no music while playing matches, just the sound of car engines and explosions.
Overall the game is half baked. I doubt I'll play it again in the future unless they do a large update to finish making the game. Glad I didn't 'pay' for it directly and only got it on Plus.
I'm still enjoying this game as a before and after my main game sort of thing. I only really enjoy gridfall and carnado though as they offer something else additional to just smashing other cars. So far I think it's the basis for a good game and just needs some more modes, arenas, and vehicles etc building in. Like others have said, it's not something I'd have paid full price for but this is the type of game that works on PS+ as it gets a good audience of people trying it out and more will have stuck with it than ever will have bought it.
Punched out after an hour or two. Already deleted it. Simply not my type of game or a fan of the art direction.
@Northern_munkey Onrush actually looks like it could be quite entertaining!
@Quintumply no option to turn it back on right now though? Fair play to them for jumping on an issue that quickly but I’d personally of prefer to have it. Games like this need to be democratic to succeed I suppose though, so whatevs.
Brilliant game and another that is criminally neglected by sony..it was a free ps+ game but i was considering a purchase..
@Flaming_Kaiser Why?! I think next-gen should have released sooner, not later. About time we had an abundance of games that run with high frame-rates & hi-res textures. Previously PC only features finally on consoles, and definitely NOT before time.
@DISC0KINGZ For me personally everything is a mess now the consoles released in a epidemic everyone has problems from COVID 19 i believe with some more time a lot of smaller issues could have been avoided a little more fleshed out OS, stock problems, developers that get some extra time. Thats how i see it and few months extra will not kill anyone.
